Live this Monday afternoon happy Monday -- -- It's always a happy Monday when we get to see Cal Thomas in his bunk up.

And here here is for.

David West -- Fellows and you get a brilliant job last week asked -- do you -- -- are -- paying you it's not enough depth.

Tough thank you please pass that along to those who actually decide how much they can you thank there's a toss up column because I know he'll voice carries a lot of weight Iran.

Could.

-- the dead the debate last week it was Atwood it was just fascinating to watch in -- to see President Obama some sort of list listen.

Some.

I guess common bill on non reactive.

But I I would imagine as I said Ted gym -- in last Friday and I think rich Larry on Thursday.

You guys who have often criticize the media for being in the tank for Obama must have been pretty happy because everybody pound it.

Well look I think.

Yeah well they did because it was obvious it was like a train wreck I mean if you.

If you look at the train wreck you you can't say that the train didn't derail.

I didn't crash into something it was so obvious that even they couldn't that I had us further adding to evidence if we needed -- incredible media bias.

Was a phone call a conference call with reporters that David Axelrod and made it eleven to 15 in the morning.

The day after.

The disaster for President Obama.

So what is revealing about this again if any more needs to be revealed -- -- -- familiarity.

Between axle -- and the reporters they call him -- his -- name acts.

And as Neil -- the daily -- -- daily caller is chronicled very well.

They -- they virtually all operated parties wondering under the guise of a question if the president will be more aggressive on as Andrea Mitchell put it.

-- MSNBC women's issues and if he -- I'll make more accusations about how Romney has -- according to them.

You read these transcripts of that that conference call.

And you would think that they were paid advisors and of course they are giving in kind contributions most of them to the Obama campaign virtually every day on our networks.

So knowing what is it just a question all of too cozy.

Our relationship building up over many does -- I think it's more than that because most of these people have not known President Obama over many years.

Jonathan I I think it's more that they are basically in tune with his -- whether it's on.

Social and cultural issues sort -- the goodness of big government and the evil of wealthy people although most of them are wealthy of course.

And they really do believe in redistribution they believe that somehow we can avoid war by saying nice things certain about the Islamic fanatics that want to kill us.

And -- buried there and ideological lockstep so I don't think you have it would be the same with Bill Clinton would be the same.

But Hillary Clinton would be the same with whoever the next Democrat is four years eight years twelve years a hundred years from now.

So you didn't -- him then why if they opt.

Poll so cozy.

With the Obama campaign why would they -- so willing to criticize.

The day -- -- the debate.

Well I think guys they have to they just had to Jonathan I mean it was so obvious.

So bad even when the Obama team was saying and has started with them I mean that you.

When something is it that obvious when you look in the mirror and you see an image.

That you don't like.

You -- have two choices you can either fix the image put on some make up take -- -- get dressed blow dryer air change the lighting.

Or you can -- in the -- Good there would have been no point in blaming the mirror in this because obviously what was being reflected on that stage was an Obama loss.

All right.

Calendar when did you -- -- -- to -- -- CM Mitt Romney's -- policy speech just an hour or so ago.

No I was out but I've got the transcript out not to read it just a little bit I've read seems to be well as Rush Limbaugh just -- ten minutes ago on his radio program.

Presidential mature.

Forward thinking I did read one line from the speech that.

Something about.

Foreign policy is that it is not about hope.

And the best way to prevent -- to be strong enough so that people will be afraid to attack you I think it's I think it's absolutely correct and most of the media -- this.

That the reason we're getting attacked more.

The but the reason for these terrorist attacks the reason for Ben got -- is that no one fears America anymore they think they can get away with it and why wouldn't they believe that.

It's going to be a very interesting foreign policy debate and a couple of weeks.

I think the -- is that Romney's back on that and I think the president is going to have a lot of indefensible positions to defend.

I wouldn't let let me try to just play devil's advocate for a moment here when you cal which is always a dangerous wrote I go -- when you.

But at this saying hope is not a strategy.

Is not a strategy guy that there wasn't a lot of detail -- back.

How a president Romney would fix the problems the -- policy problems we face right now in that speech.

Well I think it's about consistency -- I don't think it's saying all there just building more missiles or.

Or getting more people into the military I think it's about consistency the world looks at the United States for leadership even our enemies understand consistency.

They understood when Ronald Reagan was consistent.

When he put a missile down the the chimney of Moammar Qaddafi all of a sudden we didn't hear from Gaddafi anymore for 25 years.

He was virtually out of the picture.

And I I think that people -- -- that's why the hostages were released.

From our embassy in Iran on the day of his inauguration because the Ayatollah actually believed I think.

That.

Reagan would drop a nuclear bomb on Tehran.

So peace through strength and a little bit of fear never heard of I think nobody fears America because they don't -- President Obama.

Are all right do I have to get to the most important issue that emerge from the debate though Calvin which was the outright threat.

Against a national institution the whole idea that -- president Romney would sub off.

Big the beloved big on off Thanksgiving table big bird is dead -- -- president Romney that -- I think is something that disturbs.

Hundreds of millions of America -- well brilliant.

OK -- -- there the whole.

The whole lot of children's television workshop the people who got patents on all those profits.

Are making a lot of money -- look I have the privilege of knowing Jim Henson.

When he was just starting out when I was working at the NBC station as a copy boy in Washington.

I've got a wonderful guy a very a man who live very simply and tell -- that big of anyone I've bought.

Rolls Royce and parked -- next in my 1964.

Pontiac -- -- four cylinder LaMont.

And immediately depreciated by a couple of thousand dollars.

I don't I'm not sure that he would have been all for taking all of this government money.

I think that PBS's.

Is a relic of the past that it was created under the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

During the Lyndon Johnson administration -- only three broadcast networks.

And Newton minnow famously said the head -- the FCC at the time.

That most of the broadcast networks -- a vast waste land.

So -- -- -- case could have been made at the time that there's so many other outlets now DBS should be able to stand on its own or not stand at all and that goes for Amtrak and a lot of other things.

If they can't survive they don't deserve a government money.

I think -- goods should be sentenced.

Big -- made a lot of money Bolivia a lot of a lot of good bet -- most of negative quite well -- -- -- All right cal Thomas and as you -- as we were -- that cal has an opinion based on the future of big up on foxnews.com.

Run out.
