The all important swing states governor Romney's new momentum now -- to battleground states like Ohio according to the latest American research group poll.

Governor Romney leapfrogging past present a -- in the Buckeye State governor Romney now leading 48%.

To 47%.

Last month in Ohio -- Obama led governor Romney 40% to 47%.

Ohio senator Rob Portman joins bidding served.

-- -- -- I'm very well you must like even those well within the margin of -- -- that ticket outboard we must be quite pleased at least.

-- that -- maybe in the game.

We're pleased with the bowling more importantly -- -- of what's happening on the ground we just had a rally here.

This is -- northeast Ohio a key part of the state we had over thirteen thousand people show up for Mitt Romney.

And I've seen it everywhere I go I was at a retreat center in southwest Ohio yesterday that would be part of -- day.

And there we had folks showing up you know frankly -- involved in politics for the phones were.

All things staff to there's something going on vicious little bit different we have a lot more energy and enthusiasm on our side -- -- in 2008.

That's gonna make a big difference.

Am play into this because -- eventful one -- the last polls I saw a short time ago was really at least haven't done reflected the fact that debt.

That governor Romney opposed the bailout of GM and -- and that -- president Bob was a hero to the GM workers in Ohio and.

Well it's and it's a situation because it.

People are finding out a lot more about it -- Obama actually took General Motors and Chrysler through a managed bankruptcy which is exactly what Mitt Romney suggested be done.

But to do it sooner to avoid the big loss of taxpayer funds as you know the -- bears were out about.

Twenty million bucks or more.

So when people are finding out about what Mitt Romney intended what he intended was exactly what's happened except.

Without some of the problems that we've had with the way the Obama administration did it -- attacks Barrymore the picking and choosing tonight I was with a bunch of workers here.

-- -- Delphi workers who are left behind by the Obama administration because they took care of some tensions on the inside but not pensions adelphi.

So I do think is -- -- learning more about that they're realizing that.

Governor Romney had a proposal that would have -- -- out of companies back on their feet also without some of the concerns of problems that have been head of the -- because of the way the Obama ministries and get it up.

How do you prepare governor Romney for his debate when you -- You know the reason he did so well on Wednesday it was because he was -- and Mitt Romney.

Democrats I think thought that the caricature was gonna show of the one that they've been putting on TV.

When they misrepresent his tax plan is -- any is able to say you know.

Face to face -- President Obama that's not my plan here it is and lay it out you know it's very hard for -- Obama because what he's been doing.

For months now here in Ohio and elsewhere.

He's showing negative ads that misrepresent what Mitt Romney is all about and so he'll do that again at the next debate he'll be -- you know and -- debate where does Obama won't do well I'm sure because in town halls touchpad debate he likes those.

But Mitt Romney will be doing exactly what he did the last -- which is just.

Setting the record straight and letting the American people know where he really stand the more he does that the better we do in Ohio.

I can -- these polls are great but again what I'm sensing on the ground.

Is -- the undecided voters.

Are finally hearing what Mitt Romney is actually four rather than seeing these TV ads and the Obama administration.

You know has a very different approach the Obama campaign has been.

Beating us on the airwaves they've been putting a lot more money and Ohio I think the same is -- Virginia Florida some others when states.

But -- -- are hearing straight from Mitt Romney you know on -- And to the extent that continues and we're -- -- very well here Ohio.

But in terms of preparing it was it did you do mock debates did you spend hours studying the tears with them how actually done because you don't -- -- people are prepared eight presidential candidate for debate.

Well you know honestly.

I don't think it's as much about the preparation as a candidate you know Mitt Romney took it seriously -- again I realize that -- but.

But but -- you know yeah she gets out there and it was he was a real Mitt Romney and that's why that's why he -- We'll have much saved my job and -- just seems.

Well you know it's actually not that complicated you know so there's that there's not that much to tell -- but you know that your job is to go out there and represent the opponent and try to do it faithfully.

He also try to be a little tougher than -- but it's going to be.

So that part way through the debate you know you're a person says -- it's not as bad as that thought it -- But ultimately I you know all the advisors in the world and all the folks -- that were put the candidates have to prepare someone.

Are not what's important what's important is when you're out there alone on the stage.

And you believe -- your heart that what you're promoting is the right way for our country we saw that last Wednesday night and you have the right policies and their resolutions folks here in Ohio.

We're now looking for more rhetoric that they want to know how and the next four years by their -- gonna get better they're concerned about.

Another four years like the last four.

And that's what governor Romney did tonight when he talked to this crowd of thirteen thousand people it's what he did in the debate last Wednesday -- what he'll do it the next debate.

And that ultimately means I think we're gonna win Ohio is going to be close it always is an Ohio congress Wednesday.

But ultimately this is about jobs in the economy who's got the better plan and there's no question -- Mitt Romney's plans are going to be better.

For Ohio working families and that's why they're -- we're gonna win this thing.

The last time I looked -- -- have had a lower unemployment rate then the national average so I thought that that would help the president is that is does Ohio's unemployment -- -- still below even the new.

I don't play in national unemployment level and if so is that that's not that it can't the president take about for that.

If it is it's it's a it's a little lower than national average about a point below.

But still people in Ohio and don't just like economy's doing well if you add the people back Ginn who stopped looking for Greta.

It would be almost 10%.

That's not acceptable and that's why when you look him in Ohio -- about -- on the wrong track early going in the right direction we we reflect the nation you know we think we're on the wrong track.

Because we know that you know -- economy is not as strong as it should be so yeah we're a little bit better in the rest of country but the rest of countries in trouble we're in trouble we understand that.

We know we're not very effective jobs like we should they've had some bad numbers recently you know the manufacturing jobs are not coming back defense we -- manufacturing job loss.

We've seen here in Ohio and around the country more folks going on food stamps no more -- going into poverty and we've seen higher gas prices -- -- -- health care costs.

It's a middle class squeeze.

And how Mitt Romney is proposing is new ideas not just more the same.

You know one of the things identity conservancy about the numbers if you don't pay attention to is where the jobs are great -- in the service industry but -- manufacturing which may come back to haunt us.

In years to come but -- -- the last word on that thank you sir.

Thanks Greta great to talk to him.
