So police now have -- -- home video of Jessica Ridgeway is her parents speak publicly for the first time since she disappeared.

Just about a week ago Jessica's mother -- father denying they had anything to do with her disappearance.

Everybody that's here.

Knows I didn't do anything and noting -- Germany and nobody else nobody in this room did anything to harm her.

We're a little hair on her -- will lead.

I just want to find my daughter.

-- -- -- -- Now the parents are -- together the father lives in Missouri several states away and Rod Wheeler is a former DC homicide detective and Fox News contributor -- good morning to you.

Good morning as a detective you've given us a list of questions that you need to answer first in order to move forward and investigation number one is this.

Why Jessica why this ten year old girl.

Exactly bill and that's the question that most investigators will ask themselves and have already asked themselves in this particular case.

And the reason we ask ourselves that bill let's look at the facts real quick I mean Jessica left for school at about 7:45.

AM last Friday morning now.

Very busy time lot of people want to work other children going to school.

There were no reports of -- child screaming according to the police there was no reports of somebody struggling with somebody.

So it's a little unusual build that time of the morning.

For someone to be adopted and a ten year old child ten year old girl can actually -- pretty loud.

There's no reports whatsoever that any of these things -- taken place her backpack was found six miles away.

What is your question on that wrong.

You know that's really peculiar than Y six miles away now let's face it for men in this again -- from an investigator standpoint.

If this little girl was abducted not far from her home.

Why would this backpack -- six miles away she didn't walk those six -- so obviously someone had to take that -- there and that's the part bill.

That the investigators are little bit puzzle with right now but.

I can tell you know information it just came out they are scouring that entire area bill where the backpack was found looking for additional evidence miles -- Here's as -- have evidence to the home video that went out.

I guess this girl has a couple listing markers are perhaps on her face that distinguishes her from other kids tell me about the video -- That's right and the reason that we in law enforcement released home video especially of a child like this bills for a couple of reasons real quickly we want people to get a look at the -- We want to people to look at scars little things on her face.

We also want them -- -- for her voice and that's why you can actually hear the audible sound of -- won the state very clearly because sometimes you can your child's -- -- may be in the store.

Any thing or anyone that even closely resembles this out obviously the police will like for people to call.

She has a gap between her two front teeth and she also has a sore apparently on -- knows where her glasses sitting apparently got -- never goes away now that parents are speaking publicly.

What do you make of that.

Well it's always a good thing bill whenever the parents can't speak publicly about their child you know we'd like to look at the parents -- -- -- -- what they have to say but.

I have to costs in the -- Be careful about body language and trying to interpret their body language.

Only -- trained investigator can really make that determination as to whether or not that person is being honest I'm nobody thinks that they're saying in the way that they're saying at all well.

We -- listen very closely to these types of press conference is because we want to make sure that whatever the parents are telling the media is the same thing that they told us and during the police and.

Toward more more thing here rotten are the parents consider suspicious and anyway here are are they on some sort of watch lists I only ask that because the father lives in Missouri.

And another worsen overnight shift and apparently the school was calling her at home they -- And the phone was never picked up -- the mother works overnight apparently she sleeps during the day he -- Right and while that's an excellent question and every investigation -- and this is just the real -- parents.

And family members are persons of interest until we solve the actual case so it's not unusual for the parents and other members of the family to be looked at any case like this there are some peculiar events that has taken place in this case bill but again I would be Jack tosses not to read too much into that at this earlier than -- investigator -- thank you Rod -- -- -- -- you for your time will stand on certain.
