She is described as his rock on the campaign trail.

And there's no doubt that governor Romney has gained momentum since the victory at the presidential debate last week.

So I sat down with mrs.

Ronnie -- asked her what she thought about her husband's performance that night.

And also her reaction to the claims that he was dishonest.

During that today -- Joined now by mrs.

Romney and -- some poll numbers out there this morning that have got it leave the campaign feeling very glad.

I'll start by taking a look at those the first one that we're gonna see is that head to head.

Which shows governor Romney ahead at 49%.

Over President Obama at 45%.

That's up five percentage point jump since that October 3 debate.

Let's take a look at the women's number with likely women voters and you can see governor Ronnie was at 38% to president Obama's 56 an upbeat numbers above.

That is an eight percentage point jump to 47% that puts them neck and neck.

This is -- you talked a lot about women about the -- out there.

In the Democratic Convention we heard a lot about specific women's issues but you -- always been saying you know for women like everybody else out there it's about.

Economy have you been proven right well I hope so because I feel like I was still with my husband loved the debate thought it was terrific.

I was have been waiting for very very long time for people to see my has been.

Like what I how I see him.

And I think the people got a chance to do that at the debate.

And they're -- as you know close to a billion dollar spent a negative ads on him.

He's been so -- characterized so misrepresented attacked and I feel like unfairly treated by the media as well.

So for me it was a chance for him to be for people to see -- -- filtered.

To listen with their ears he see with their eyes and say this is a good guy I.

And and -- in -- in particular with women I think.

They got to see something that was evident at that debate which was leadership.

Competency.

Someone that was energized energetic ready to go and to and tackled the job.

What -- and I have seen at the last year and a half that we've been on the campaign trail.

-- not numbers we've seen people.

And the numbers say the story of course they say how how widespread the story is.

In particular women are falling into unemployment.

And it higher number than men women are falling into poverty and a higher level than men.

But what we see on the trail are women coming up to me and they -- there it's so it happens so often I wish I could take people with me on the trail.

Women that come up that are so frightened.

They're crying they're they have lost their jobs and husbands -- -- -- jobs they've been trying to get a job.

There these are real people out there they're not numbers to midnight anymore and I hope that came across.

That wind it's running is to make.

That economic.

Opportunities for people that are out there that are really really desperate.

You know there was a story over the weekend has said that President Obama when he finished the debate.

Felt like I had gone fairly well and I think so many of us wonder when he walked up on that stage afterwards with your family and the Obama family next year did you sense.

That your understanding of what had happened was different then there's.

-- all I know is I mean I was focused on my husband I was thinking about you know I was so proud of them I was thrilled to death I was.

I was doing it I knew -- I knew I knew right away I knew that to the first question I -- I turned my son after fifty minutes.

And I gave my nights and I said -- -- 1000 right now I mean the first fifteen minutes and then you know it never really changed that energy and it was that energy that's what I felt.

-- you know as I've had time for it to sit down down from me to really think about it.

Obviously his answers were good and he was able to talk about his vision of the country and everything else and where he wants to take us.

But for me it was the energy.

The passion the excitement.

You could tell -- this guy is ready anxious.

And prepared -- we'll take it over the united everybody says the president will not let this happen twice sad that he knows he was -- -- game that night that he is will undoubtedly working.

To come back.

There's talk that your husband will be portrayed as a flip -- are.

That the issue of being won't come back because they feel like you know portraying him as out of touch with the regular folks was something that worked for them or LA -- or Leon.

How do you prepare you know for for those attacks that are likely to come in this town hall environment how -- -- -- on -- -- -- be different do you think well you know every debate is different you can never predict what's gonna happen.

And you just have to be ready you have to just know.

And and for me it.

All comes from conviction from -- again and you know that it wouldn't you you can't tell what the questions are gonna come you can't tell what attacks are gonna come.

But you hit people have to see from with in your heart the conviction it is it and I believe with all of my heart that my husband will make a difference for the future of this country.

That he will make a difference in the personal.

The safety security and everything else for American people and I think.

You know I think especially women are pretty Smart.

And and they they can listen with your hearts and they can -- and have the stakes are higher I mean you look at this race and it is neck and neck.

When he what's your biggest concern as you look at the next twenty something days and you say well we're in good shape now.

But what if you know what -- -- traders always things that are out of your control you can only be who you are you can only be who you going to be the best if you are you can't be anything beyond that so.

Sometimes things are out of your control there's nothing you can do about that time you just go forward with conviction and knowledge that you are that I really believe he's the right man the right time this country's going to be better.

If he's president what's -- think of.

The charges that he lied that they added I said you know all he heat -- -- -- -- -- -- today -- I -- I -- like -- -- about what this is something he's been saying all -- this is what he believes.

This is his policy this -- his statements this is it.

I mean like it's sort of like someone that you know in in the sand -- -- like lost the game and they're just gonna kick sand -- spaces that you liar.

I mean it's like you because they lost and so now they just are gonna say OK the game you know we didn't like the game.

So it's it's to its knees where sportsmanship if they come back with -- with the 47% number -- people so why do you leave that on the table white and you bring that up.

-- your husband respond to those.

Well you know as he always has you know with with clarity and with firmness and you know it the other thing is I know I know they tried to make light of the fact that Mitt has been successful.

And you know that is what America is about.

Is about people having the opportunity to do everything wanna do and we applied in -- success in this country we don't degrade it diminish it.

And say you know how bad you are for having been successful.

-- started his business.

I mean we've we know what it's like to start from from a beginning and to build something so what do you say it.

I'll rioting last weekend went well Abbas did really well and out of -- on the right up against yeah Joseph Biden what would you -- lectured -- well I I have no advice because -- people are giving him advice that I ended ecology and a and give -- you know hug over the phone and and just say you know will be watching and will be and train and and considering then.

You know I -- again all the confidence in my has been all the confidence in Paul Paul is I'm gonna I'm excited again for the American.

People to see and they don't know one.

He is such a great guy he's so genuine.

I mean I -- gonna be great for people to really get to a chance to get two minutes.

And he'll be able to yell at the TV screen -- watch I what I can be a quiet and good church and having an exciting in my mind of -- Manning is running good to see we hope you'll stand by and sent I would like checking in with you may thank you we wish we -- -- -- thanks so much thank you.
