Let me welcome former house speaker Newt Gingrich.

Mr.

speaker thank you for joining us tonight.

I'm delighted join -- kind of close to the great -- of the evening.

-- -- -- has got into a book out and it's a great book.

On thank you for kids it's got great illustrations and and as well but -- eleven.

And of the Pilgrim's Pride she's very proud of -- and entries that you -- cutting.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Well I think that Brian -- Partially because I think the Biden launched.

But I think his.

I don't know who coached him in this smirking.

-- you can kind of stuff -- you know this this this split screen saying is really tough.

Because you're on for ninety minutes and you -- -- yeah yeah and I think that -- -- -- -- -- You know laughing -- -- -- -- fine that some couldn't count and he laughed like forty times.

You really think Brian made the case that he's ready to step in god forbid it would ever be necessary if if we lost the commander in chief -- be ready for that job do you think he made -- -- of.

At least Israel is Obama was when he ran in 2008 in -- -- -- discussed Afghanistan with some complexity.

I thought he was able to discuss Libya really reasonably well and I ran reasonably well.

My hunch is you'll find tomorrow and of course I think he was actually helped by.

Biden is continuing references to him as my friend.

They have the right and they described you as his friend you fully part of some national establishment -- -- -- acceptable.

How about that he didn't want to be called congressmen by the moderator because you know Congress's low approval ratings he when he called mr.

As a former house speaker and someone who led congress.

Does that is insulting to congress.

Not that I saw in the distance just foolish I mean the fact is he but he actually technically should be called chairman.

Position of the Budget Committee and that would have been a rational thing to ask war.

Yeah less productivity in the -- -- either I think that doesn't get him into frankly.

That he do you think you know on the fact you know the fact checkers or -- gonna say that.

Well at the numbers still don't mansion and Ryan still didn't make the numbers match is still no way to make those cuts match and -- was -- and that has seven and sixteen billion dollars.

And in Medicare you know the fact checkers a command unforced tomorrow and in fact tonight and -- -- those things out.

But I think they'll come -- both ways they'll say that you know even Stephanie Cutter and the deputy chairman of the campaign has admitted that.

The numbers on the tax.

-- played or not you know five trillion dollars.

That's just plain not right and then there -- -- kind of -- Angelo on playing and I didn't quite understand this but.

-- -- -- this -- about Syria being -- has been in Libya or something.

You know just made no sense.

Well yeah they -- do you think do you think Ryan showed himself up to speed on foreign policy.

Holly and I think getting in the sense of the American people of the check off and foreign policy -- -- knowledgeable.

And who is clearly it was described being in.

Afghanistan back in 2002 it is describe.

More accurately than Biden.

What the -- campaigning season is and why it's called the you know why it's the fighting season.

So I think gathered personal but you know it can be sort of okay but people haven't had just to check of -- -- -- mean that they wanted to be president but they wouldn't be frightened.

To have -- -- next online to be president and that's frankly I think the big achievement Paul.

Do you think it's one of those debates where those who -- lean left -- in a favor by did say he won.

Sure and those on the right but -- they won't help a lot of mixing our ultimate.

It wasn't like the other night when put Obama failed to -- -- -- -- -- this of this -- this day visit to solid guys actually think.

Sitting was probably an advantage to Ryan.

Yeah made -- more of a conversation.

And made it harder to be quite as intense and quite as aggressive probably -- wanted to be.

But I would say they dramatic here at a minimum.

With a split decision.

-- from Republicans maybe with with the Internet victory for Ryan.

They went over the independence -- does it change any numbers.

-- is what it does is it continues the momentum.

That that would with the Democrats -- it was it was a momentum changer.

And they didn't get it tonight I thought the closed.

I thought that Ryan was much stronger then.

The vice president and the close -- vice president locally like Obama he seemed to be vague and wondering at the very end.

And you know blah and was pretty clear that -- that -- Ryan had a very well thought how to close that you went straight into this drove at all.

You are often critical of the media how do you think Martha Raddatz -- Think she's I think it is all right I mean -- there's simulators and she cut off.

Ryan too much at -- but I don't believe that I think it's fair to say this they probably -- that a few more questions on the economy but you know she's a foreign policy expert.

I thought she was very -- -- Biden on occasion.

I don't -- I don't think complain about her -- that -- You know I think that I think.

You're dealing with human beings and in this case she she wasn't biased I didn't think of anything she was she was -- with Biden in places where he was probably surprised.

-- -- -- -- which do you watch this campaign now and say boy you know it could have been me.

And there but for the -- and -- -- as a.

Some -- I'm too busy.

Helping -- so I'm not -- pride and frankly helping -- I mean I am very committed to governor Romney winning and I'm doing.

-- -- I think that's CBS morning news tomorrow morning I'm doing everything I can be useful -- -- try to get across why this is an important election.

Have you -- had a meeting kind of -- rapprochement after the very bitter it would seem like a bitter primaries -- Illiquid but we talked until they both agree that the time even in the depth of beating each other up that.

The contrast between either one of us and -- Obama Obama was so dramatic.

That either one of us was an attention and help the other one they got the nomination so that's never been in any doubt.

Was there any -- that you could actually be on the ticket -- Now -- the -- -- I think Ryan is perfect for -- job.

Mr.

speaker is always appreciate your insights into -- -- -- user -- thank you very much that is Newt Gingrich.

He is of course the former house speaker and himself a former.

Candidate for the Republican nomination for president.
