You all right none of the nation's most famous boss Donald Trump who you hire for vice president after last night's debate we spoke -- Donald Trump earlier tonight.
That's a nice stock -- -- I -- -- what do you think about last night's debate between the two vice presidential candidates.
Well I think that it was very interesting and I actually thought they both did a very very good job both of them very different.
Different styles different thoughts different politics but I thought they were both very effective.
Can you learn anything new substantively.
Well I didn't like to where Joseph Biden was blaming be intelligent so our intelligence groups because that was sort of putting something -- people that I'm not sure that was so necessarily -- -- -- -- -- -- Or worse say -- -- four birdies in a position to be informed that another problem for me is that what did you know rock and a hard place on that one were.
I was a little surprise that he did that but.
I will say I thought he was very effective -- I thought they were both extremely effective in very different ways.
-- how about the smiling smirking -- -- Smirking they did that bother you at all.
Well I -- congressman Ryan may call him out of that like you know we have nothing to smile about what are you laughing about our country's in trouble I was waiting for that and I didn't get that I think it would have been a great opportunity.
And yet I love to -- congressman Ryan did but I thought that would have been -- -- because -- -- so much you describe naps because he wasn't called out on its.
It was a way of sort of disparaging.
To congressmen and what he was saying.
And you could tell it was effective shot because.
He wasn't called out.
Three of those service interest in about it and the problem with the from the Obama Biden campaign perspective is.
Is that today this is consuming so much of our attention -- people -- time but.
Twitter well wild about it it's also are talking about his behavior how Vice President Biden was acting.
Rather than any sort of the Obama Biden program or presidency.
At -- a huge distraction to the Obama campaign.
Well I think he was really -- -- -- -- because the president was just the opposite he was very lethargic he was very just the opposite of what you saw last night from Biden.
And I think he went in there and whether it's themselves -- people telling him to do it probably himself and maybe a combination of both but.
I think he had to be aggressive because the president was not aggressive not aggressive at all and I think he really had no choice side I was very I would've been very surprised if he didn't act very aggressive which he did now.
He had to erupt at a lot and he smiled a lot and he laughed and you know but to -- it was a disparaging -- But I think he had no choice because they needed something to energize them a little bit and you couldn't have somebody else go -- quietly.
And get away with -- in my opinion.
Ocalan they may have energized their base with it but do you wonder -- in the ultimate goal I would think.
Is to attract the undecided and independent votes.
And while that may have revved up his base they worry gonna vote form so is it effective in terms of campaign strategy do you think.
Well I'll tell you in about 25 days a fast is that congressman Ryan and I heard did very well in terms of polling with the independence of people but I hadn't made up their minds.
So you have somebody that really may have he came across is a Smart.
Beyond position quite a difference if you look at that from that standpoint but.
As a Smart young guy and I think that's you know I think it's very attractive to the nation.
We didn't get a shout out last night got a shot up there I actually think he had to shed up to from.
The my memory is correct at the presidential debate last -- but no shout out last night well -- -- can't dream really disappointed extremely but did that's so scary guy can live with it.
I don't know I have just gotten a -- out like that mean I don't you know I actually got stolen car but the other debate.
So I tell congress up what's going on over here -- there was something so it was it was really great honor.
But last night I got none -- so that's OK also.
Exactly get a shout out last week.
Well I was a little bit surprised if not totally surprised but I was a little bit surprised and it was an -- to -- certain you know he used me as an example of a rich person and that.
You know having to do their taxes and lots of other things and I you know it was it was I think very complimentary I believe it was complemented admit -- -- me again and also I think he might have been defending me.
But I thought it was fine and I'd certainly got a lot of publicity because everybody was talking about it the next day.
When you can you work today word than people you work with who they talking about the debate last night I was the first discussion substantive or is it about.
Need -- -- the way the smirk gain by Vice President Biden.
Well when I came to work this morning I was on The Today Show at 7:30 in the morning so that was my work because we announced a cast of the Celebrity Apprentice.
Which is quite exciting actually but I was at so at NBC studios this morning at seven dirty so I and I can tell you that's all they were talking about and I -- I.
So -- well -- calculation about that I think that depending on who you are a lot of people love to -- -- congressman Ryan did.
And some people and I concede they obviously had a democratic -- -- Obama bent.
-- liked what Joseph Biden was doing because he had energy and to Obama had no energy and it would be Obama.
With the Obama did debate would admit there was no question -- what that the better what's it like it's like Obama's people just -- doctors didn't even show up.
And there was this one -- -- at least people said hey that they each had some very very strong points and eight.
And whether you like to to jab did Biden did or not -- that he was probably pretty effective from at at a minimum from the -- so.
That he were -- NBC in the NBC studios which is really sort of where a lot of this stuff -- emanating.
What -- that it was a 5050 debate -- people did very well.
And you didn't -- that with a Mitt Romney.
Obama debate that was a route.
-- -- the next Mitt Romney.
President Obama debate is next week.
What do you expect to have president Obama's going to do in light of the fact that he hit candidate he at a bad time last week.
Well I think there's tremendous pressure on him Greta I really do I don't think there's pressure on -- -- of course there's always pressure but.
I think there's tremendous pressure on President Obama to perform.
Because if he doesn't it's going to be devastating.
If he is and acts the way he did in the last debate.
It will be in my opinion.
-- you know potentially election losing so I think he's under tremendous pressure.
And then you say to yourself why won't he do better if he did that poorly why is he going to do better.
And I'll -- you this if you look at Mitt Romney.
You just did somebody that really does react well under pressure because he went to Florida he had to have good debates against -- a great debater.
Because as you know Newt is a terrific debater and by the way terrific guy.
And he did fantastically -- -- to do -- debates and so you know -- really reacted well under pressure even Wear tear and things weren't going great wasn't -- great two weeks for him prior to the debate.
Anyone do -- a tremendous pressure and I think it was despite his performance -- his debate against President Obama.
So who's to say that President Obama all of a sudden will do so well maybe you walk and maybe can't.
Is there -- a lot of hostility.
In the business community -- it against President Obama may have heard went -- CEO Steve Wynn said last week that it was -- be lectured by President Obama is talking about job creation.
And it but it was so fiercely I mean it's in JO EO -- was -- certainly had -- hostility or passion.
Isn't that simmering in the background.
Well seems different in my he's a very passionate guy but did he loves -- country he loves his company and what he's done and he's proud of it and he doesn't want to be lectured about job creation because Steve and myself and others have created thousands and thousands of jobs and we don't have to be told by President Obama about job creation and he's never created did you -- And I think there is tremendous hostility there is no question about it you saw that last week received.
He certainly was anger realist there's -- times I mean I don't I don't know I'm disappointed.
Indeed it was satellite.
Says it's not to thank you thank you Greta.
