We'll be hearing an awful lot about Libya over the next five days in the exchange that happened right here.
The day after the attack governor I stood in the rose -- And I told the American people in the world.
-- we are gonna find out exactly what happened.
But this was an act of terror.
And I also said we're gonna hunt down those who committed this crime.
Governor if you Mira yeah I personally I look at it is -- -- it was I I I think it's Andersen the president just said something which which is that on the day after the attack he won the Rose Garden garden.
And said that this was an act of terror.
You said in the Rose Garden the day after the attack it was an act of terror.
It was not a spontaneous demonstration is that what you -- saying please -- cigar.
Want to make sure we get that for the record because it took the president fourteen days before he called the attack and been -- an act of terror get the transfer.
It if he didn't -- in facts are so let me let me eat it call it -- -- -- -- -- -- -- elected.
He did find active terror -- did as well take.
It it is well take that two weeks or so for the whole idea of -- being a -- out there about this tape but to come out your.
Read this out that it and so we're gonna sort of use and how -- voters gonna react.
Governor George Pataki former governor of New York what did you think of -- too bad bill I have to tell you guys very disappointed in -- Candy Crowley.
Because -- it did she inject herself in the midst of the hottest part of a presidential debate perhaps of all the debates we've had since they started decades ago.
But she was flat out wrong the president did not say the next day that the attack and Ben Ghazi was an act of terror.
In fact Mitt Romney was right it did take them two weeks to do that.
And I think as the American people look at this they're gonna understand.
That the president looked in the camera.
Said something that was just not the case and governor -- what governor Romney said was absolutely the truth.
Well here's the transcript he did say on page two quoting now no acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation.
He also said this though referred to the attack -- -- Ghazi talked to referred to their attackers.
Referred to this terrible act same speech now saying five and a statement.
-- and outrageous and shocking attack.
Talk about bringing the -- stop the terrorists for the killers to justice who were attacked those people.
We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious -- of others are references some take -- To this Mohammed film he called them brutal -- called it senseless violence.
Be attacked for not break the bonds between the US and Libya fought back against the attackers.
You can make it clear argument here governor I think that's what you're doing.
As to how far the president went that.
-- absolutely he did not say that the attack invading Gaza it was an act of terror.
And in fact five days later his UN secretary ambassador.
Was out on every major news channel on the Sunday talk shows saying it was a consequence of this video that no one ever saw.
And by the way -- step back for a minute here.
When -- those attacks occur.
On September 11.
I think 90%.
Of Americans when they understood that.
Our facility had been attacked -- ambassador killed on September 11.
Would not think at some spontaneous uprising but it's a terrorist attack.
But since day one.
This administration has always -- to -- what is it that we have done wrong to provoke this action by others from the beginning of -- global apology tour to a statement and it hit -- has embassy statement after embassy in Egypt.
Who was attacked and trashed.
Where they basically apologize because of the video so this.
Administration's instinct is always one of well done wrong -- I think it was something and cover less than a lot of folks have missed 1009 PM eastern time.
And we did our research and what we have not found this publicly stated until last night.
The president as soon as we found out the Ben Ghazi consulate was being overrun I was on the phone with my national security team.
So what did the national security team tell him.
On that day about what intelligence they had about who was killing our ambassador.
Well of course we don't know what that conversation was but what we do now.
Is that from early on our security officials believe it was a terrorist attack and by the way.
The Libyan government the next day came out and said it was a terrorist attack.
It didn't take them I don't understand that but when you say you're on the far when -- national security team now.
What are you hearing.
And -- -- presumably you're hearing the truth on the ground which is that it was a terrorist attack there was no mass demonstration.
It was a well organized attack on September 11 and by the way -- just one other thought.
The question that the president was asked.
Was why didn't -- provide security before the attack in many many and so what he did and that was an answer and frankly -- to be -- governor Romney could have followed up on that city and answer the question -- this is a -- -- story that would take us in the Monday and -- and during Monday night we'll have more -- the following Tuesday.
Next week so we will pick it up -- with you governor thank you George Pataki thank you bill it.
