This never happens I'm actually standing here I -- see -- your box -- And last night's debate the two candidates brought up obamacare but only in passing.
And did not really focus on it specifically.
So we talked this morning with doctor Toby Cosgrove the CEO of the Cleveland clinic about the omission -- the topic.
And what makes the clinics model work for the future.
Well I think the interesting thing about how we're organizers were organized -- are two things trying to deliver quality.
And also trying to bring down costs which -- the really the two things that we need to be discussing right now on health care.
The quality issue is something that we've Todd is very important in the thing that drives it is transparency around our outcomes which we have.
Mean very transparent for the last decade.
And then as we see quality go up across the country and we certainly have seen that with -- better care better drugs better devices.
We've seen costs go up and -- -- really need to concentrate and how we bring down on the cost of health care.
-- there's really only two ways that you can do it.
One we have to have a more efficiently -- -- delivery system.
And part of the delivery system that we have at the Cleveland clinic -- all the doctors are employed they're all salaried.
And so makes no difference whether -- doctor does something.
Procedure or gets a test.
Makes no financial difference of that individual.
And that is important in keeping costs down and it's been recognized that the hospitals that have that sort of a system.
Have a lower cost than households that don't.
The second thing that we need to do to -- -- sound as we need to emphasize.
Keeping people well we need to move from sick care.
That really to health care and we put a big push on particularly our employees and our community.
About dealing with smoking in dealing with the epidemic of obesity which is for her driving up health care.
Doctor Cosgrove also says regardless of who was elected moving forward all health care systems need to work toward becoming more efficient to benefit.
