And Obama and Joseph Biden now seizing on some comments that were made by governor Romney about women in the workforce.
-- Ronnie says that ten of his top positions actually were filled by women during his time as Massachusetts governor here it is and the debate.
We took a concerted effort to go -- and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet.
I went to a number of women's groups and said can you help us find folks I brought us -- binders full of of women.
So the democratic ticket has been poking fun at those comments the governor Romney has made some major gains lately with likely women voters here's the latest Gallup poll.
She is in trailing President Obama -- only 1% he was down by double digits with women at one point if you member.
About a month or so -- and there's a picture of Kerry Healey.
With -- and governor of Massachusetts -- she was the lieutenant governor under him she's now a senior advisor.
And in my campaign working farm policy primarily good to have you with us Karrie welcome.
Thank you my so I am asking you know as a woman when you hear when I heard that comment no no doubt we're watching every second of that debate when he said -- -- -- women did you coming -- own thing happen.
-- way to put back you know.
I didn't because I was the person -- he asked to be liaison to eighteen the group that had collected those resonates for -- so I had spent hours poring over the resume is of those women that were contained in those blinders on and got an update I knew exactly what -- was talking about.
Is to me -- when it comes to these kind of issues that that really actions speak louder than words to me you know in terms of who you work with what you're like when you work together all those kinds of things so what's your own personal experience when you were to go -- -- my personal experience has obviously been extraordinary governor Romney is a great leader.
And he also creates a work environment which is enormously friendly it's family friendly it's professional it's everything that women in the workforce could hope for -- I also think this is so ironic because has given us an opportunity to talk about one of the great strengths of governor Romney during his time in office which was that he did want to.
Bring women's voices into government that he did have half of the women in his top appointed positions as a you know -- it right there with him his chief of staff.
Was a woman obviously he asked me -- run with them.
I I am clearly a female -- his top the policy advisor was also female in addition to all of the cabinet secretaries he brought forward.
So the idea that governor Romney in some way is is not interested in hearing those voices hearing the concerns of women is simply false on the face it.
You mentioned at Beth Myers who was his chief of staff and he's you know he's told stories about.
Her young children and how he tried to make things a little bit flexible for her in the workplace.
-- she also it should be pointed out was it was ahead she led his vice presidential search right.
Well not only that but she also his campaign manager in 2008 for his presidential race so she has played -- major role in governor Romney's career and is obviously very clearly trusted advisor but I'd like -- also just expand on the idea.
That it wasn't.
Just bath who benefited from governor Romney's family friendly policy is within the governor's office so we all do.
You know there's just wrapping you know laugh when I am down with -- -- -- brown -- look at all the different channels and hear what everybody's saying there's a rap on him he's sort of this old fashioned guy.
You know that that he's sort of in 1950s.
Kind of guy and that he thinks you know unlocked door and he said it was yet to go home and take care the kids and make dinner.
And they're making big hay added that in some places than that he -- Is old fashion.
What's your take knowing him as well as -- down.
An -- on the mother rhino the kids don't feed themselves someone's got to do it.
And then family but I am not my feeling is that his actions speak so much louder than that stereotype could take whatever I did -- it overwhelms that stereotype because.
Governor Romney went way beyond just equal pay for equal work governor Romney -- out and -- aggressively.
Champions of men toward women put them in leadership positions again and again throughout his time in government.
And just that there are so few political leaders male or female who but who bother to do that.
In in the the first year after we were in office there was a survey that he mentioned.
By SUNY Albany that looked at.
How you know governors were putting -- in different positions in their administrations and governor Romney's it gave -- administration was.
The best in the country in terms of advancing one and so I I just think the proof is in the putting and again.
The Obama administration is is trying to create a distraction here.
Kids away from -- the horrible economic failures this -- last four years.
-- ask you one quick question that I had a different subject because you are one of his farm policy advisors what do you expect in terms of you know the big question.
That's gonna come up on Monday night what are you preparing him for.
Thing well we we know that that Ben Ghazi will be -- litigated.
On Monday night -- pass to be because we did not get a straight answer.
From the president in the last debate and the American people deserve to now and I think the entire question.
Is America's safer is going to feature very prominently we have just had a very serious attempted.
Terrorist attack here in New York only yesterday I attack on our embassy and -- -- -- you know that -- terrorism and and whether or not this administration has been effective against terrorism is going to come up.
Kerry -- thank you very much I was sort of the day like an honest talk about women's issues at all that they're just people issues that everybody -- and -- everybody is different Karrie thank you very much.
They -- is like we're --
