Voter fraud it's a big concern in this tight presidential race and the risk is growing with more early and absentee voting.

Just this week and a -- out three people were charged with illegal voting.

So what is that key swing state doing to prevent future fraud Griff Jenkins hit the ground in Ohio to find out.

Greta we're here in the battleground state of Ohio where the fight for its eighteen electoral votes is heating up in not surprisingly.

Talking concerns over voter fraud intimidation and suppression have all made headlines in fact.

This week here in front.

And county three people were indicted voter fraud which is a felony so we hit the ground to find out more starting with the secretary of state.

When you're Ohio you expect controversy here a swing state you know -- coming you know the losses coming in so we learn from every four years how to make our system that.

Is voter fraud a problem in this state.

It's hard to prove.

But so they know how -- did come up in a few counties there are more voters who are registered -- there are people eligible vote.

In those counties and -- that really raised the flag will where's that same.

Well where where that stands as the secretary of -- John -- actually out petition.

For help for guidance on this issue on what to do -- never heard back.

-- he's trying to figure out what do want to vote.

Are there are stories of corruption -- people breaking the laws -- voter fraud.

Well.

We have three cases write me and Franklin County which is where the state -- -- of voters to.

Have been alleged to have voted.

Twice under slightly different names.

These are emerging cases of fraud -- that are being discovered we don't have any evidence of widespread fraud.

But they're isolated cases like these that are beginning to emerge.

And we're in -- do everything in our power to investigate.

And nature that we send a clear message that we want everybody who's legally allowed to vote to vote.

But if you break the law we're going to pursue it and we're gonna prosecute.

We're always concerned about potential voter fraud here in the county affordable.

Looking and reviewing all aspects on the election.

On legitimate votes and we strive toward the voter integrity and ethics here now.

We do have controls in place and to a due diligence to ensure that we catch those people that might not live where they say they do.

Right now we review leading up to 64 people that we have sent acknowledgment cards to and -- has been returned to us fun political.

That's interesting so we're seeing is there are potentially.

64 cases -- of -- in in this cycle already.

Yes potentially so and even more.

Billboards like this -- paid for by an anonymous source that began showing up across Ohio particularly in minority neighborhoods.

And it has some Democrats like -- Cleveland's upset about it.

We think that the placement of messages strategic its intended to intimidate people who live in these communities.

To not exercise -- right to vote so you see this site actually as a form of voter intimidation or suppression.

Absolutely absolutely that's what it is the Mets as they say it innocuous like this terrorist when you look at the placement.

You'll find season -- affluent communities.

At Westlake Iraqi river here in the Cleveland area -- -- -- you finding them and communities like this if you're going to commit fraud.

We're gonna investigate or prosecute and where to send that message and I think that that won't have a chilling effect.

On anybody in this state that wants to come -- to -- -- a legal now.
