Well I mean it's hard I'm speaking really for the Christian community I mean -- conservative by nature.
I know where I'm gonna vote.
But at the same time I have to building gauge those -- oppose the view that I have and I think we've lost a bit of that art in our culture today.
You say as a Christian we should be elevating or raising the bar having a discussion you say we shouldn't be demonizing those who oppose our views.
Was there something that's happened over the past year in the campaign or otherwise that made you think.
I've got to change this I'm gonna help changes something -- stands out to.
Well you know just some of the discussions I've been involved with when you look at the political fray I mean it's -- it energizes us.
Yet the same time if our hearts get hardened -- those that oppose our views I think we're failing as as a Christian.
Because we need to be able to keep communication open for the greater call which is standard -- people Jesus Christ.
What I would when you talk with people about politics it tends to be what the liberals who are intolerant as opposed to the conservatives I just had a conversation -- recently.
With a friend of mine who's -- network producer and network news producer and she said nothing is getting done in Washington -- has Republicans are reassessed.
I -- again are you kid.
I like what I was talking a big but there could go to something that people hear about but they never actually seed how how somebody actually does belief -- completed.
Alliance now I understand that but again the scriptures the new testament is really clear about that pray for those who persecute you love those who -- you.
When Jesus was pretty straightforward about how to deal with people that -- your point being.
And it really is God's kindness and God's love the -- or does -- mean back up on truth be principled in the arena.
But make sure you have a heart for those that don't see -- the same way you do.
There is agencies you look at young people right now and there's so much energy and focus on try to get that young vote out the use.
The youth vote in the enthusiasm whether there's this enthusiasm gap.
We also have new numbers out though about the way in which the youth are going to church.
This is trouble you that two out of three millennia -- look at these numbers rarely visit church synagogue mosque or temple and 53% disagree with the Bible that the Bible is totally accurate wouldn't say that.
Well this is one of the problems that we face and I think when you dig into the researcher find that they they perceive.
Hateful heart -- occurred from the Christian community.
Which I think is like you said it's not the true story.
And I think we have to do much better job exhibiting.
Compassion and love for those that we disagree with.
That's the case.
I think I was young people start to grow up and have families have children of their on that they may have a different approach.
When it comes to religion and the place of faith in your life.
I think so but I mean again if you're if you hold true the tenets of the faith the Christian faith.
You have to maintain a certain.
Relationship with those that approach you and I think in our culture today -- become so polarized.
That if we as the Christian community that don't lead the way in this I think we're in real trouble.
