These.
Contracts.
And I can't confirm that there are Julio their complaints.
I can't say that Iran is used to.
We talks and negotiations.
-- Five powers.
To drag its people and to gain time to advance its nuclear weapons program.
And back.
That is what it sounds like when the prime minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu who -- who's a report.
In the New York Times that says that the Iranians are willing to start negotiations.
About their nuclear program after the presidential election and this is power play an Internet guess what it's debate day it's Monday.
And if you really cool -- be down in Boca -- -- the dazzling your stuff you be wearing some white -- should be hanging out.
But you are in fact joining us here on the dominant Internet political telecast of the 1130 -- Half hour as we get ready to break down today's debate as we get ready to talk about what the stakes are on this foreign policy debate.
And what the significance.
Things like Iran of what the significance of things like.
All of that stuff will be today.
And we have a really stellar lineup of human beings with them to do that.
Starting with -- you.
Who is in fact.
-- senior political analyst here at the Fox News Channel he also happens to be.
The person who does it better than anybody else.
So we thank you mr.
Kim for being with us today for saying -- that well it's it's it's it's.
Always an exciting day when I walk in here as I work in the same bureau truth.
So here's the deal is that we also by the way we have.
The honey -- John Sununu will be with you today you will enjoy that we have an all star panel are -- all star panel but it still stellar.
Who -- all of those things.
But I was hoping mr.
-- that you just laid out for the Internet today.
What are the stakes as -- -- and Mitt Romney at this stage.
In -- -- university in Boca Raton what are the stakes.
Well I would say it one of the things that Mitt Romney seems to have succeeded in doing it and whose initial debate performance and perhaps as well and subsequent.
-- -- Establish himself in the eyes of many voters as a plausible alternative to president.
There is something to be said for a challenging candidate.
To stand on the same stage side by side with sitting president acknowledged it is always a stature gap means that a challenger faces against an incumbent.
And of this kind of activity this is mere presence.
Along side on equal footing same stage.
It is helpful.
Yes yes says that this stature gap isn't otherwise.
It.
And -- by a performance that seems not to happen and it seems that that Mitt Romney news.
Done better than expected by many people.
Held -- own and those contests regardless of who you could argue one.
Now comes a debate on the one area.
Of governance that only the federal government does which -- national security and foreign policy it is the inescapable business of the president.
And whether this campaign will be fought on that issue very much or not.
Aid to be a plausible president -- has just shows some command of those issues a comfort with -- knowledge of the world.
Now it is certainly possible that.
The president will be by virtue of his four years of doing this stuff funded by Davis is more impressive on the subject and mr.
Romney.
But it mr.
Romney holds his own.
And seems to know what he's talking about and states reasonable positions.
And my guess is that it's another check mark in his favor on as people are thinking about well is he qualified to be president.
So it's important night for him important night for the president as well who's lost momentum in the race and would would like very much to get it back.
-- -- that mr.
Romney or just absolutely dazzling performance by the president could change that I don't think that's likely to happen but I think if possible so for those.
-- tonight are instead -- to watch that you shouldn't because you should.
Obviously be watching Brett and the whole team with the debate coverage or if you want to watch it on the Internet Internet you can do it too will be at 840 we'll start at 845.
But if you're watching the cardinals play the giants tonight the rules.
Holds the same tie goes to the runner right exactly and don't and then Monday Night Football is not an option.
I'm not.
-- our alliance and mr.
Jim we thank you very much -- -- and that we're gonna take a quick break and guess who's waiting for you on the other side John Sununu you love to see him you delighted him in fact so stick around.
-- Want to make sure we get that for the record because it took the president fourteen days before he called the attack and Ben -- An act of terror get the transfer it if he didn't fit in facts are so let me let me give it color -- -- a -- -- -- -- And back.
If you were from -- -- West Virginia -- know.
Is a Jack rock that's one of those spiky things you can throw out and somebody's in front somebody's tire to blow it up.
As they are heading towards their objective that was Candy Crowley from CNN.
Blowing up Mitt Romney as he was trying to drive on president Obama's handling of the aftermath of the attacked by Islamist militants.
And US consulate in Ben -- and this is power play.
Good news AB Stoddard is here Charlie hurt is here that -- The Washington Times two of you are very favorites they will help you do things and understand things about the debate.
But first to make you see things perhaps more clearly than ever John Sununu who is of course the I don't want to hurt any other surrogates feelings governor Sununu but the favorite surrogate.
The American viewing audience for Mitt Romney's presidential candidate is former chief of staff in the White House.
He's former governor of New Hampshire and he is very welcome back here welcome back governor.
Or maybe he can't hear form.
Maybe he can't hear me so let's talk to -- maybe for a second and Internet we apologize we're having some technical difficulties today yeah.
A -- difficulties so bear with us but as we wait for the microphones to work.
A need and I hope they get to see governors in at least.
So AD we were talking about making it sports analogy you'll excuse this is where men.
It's everything actually made into a sports analogy but -- in tonight's debate tie goes to the -- If Mitt Romney can just holding the that in tonight's debate.
-- -- trajectory there and the trajectory of the race doesn't change you watch that happen right.
I agree I think his objective tonight is just an honest and up not make a big air and everyone's talking effort is to come.
Because it's it's it's just a difficult to hold your own against someone who's being commander in chief for four years.
And really pinning down I would argue that Mitt Romney if -- if they get into any specifics.
Any cross hairs -- -- he backed away and speak to the general one more time.
Is -- waste of time on the clock.
It makes you look like you're against a guy who has more folders and more facts it's just -- 30000 feet above.
Talk generally about the direction of the mom the president's.
Foreign policy agenda and don't get down in the weeds because that's where he's been as the potential -- -- -- -- and mr.
-- were.
Barack Obama tonight the -- a month ago we would have said that the president really would have liked how things are shaping -- -- policy and he enjoyed a fifteen point advantage.
On Mitt Romney on foreign policy would -- -- debates -- right exactly and that he.
And that he would go into the final debate debating a subject that was most.
-- salute reais to get his hopes.
But in -- in in line with having foreign names were.
OK okay.
But boy it is okay donors -- -- put -- -- he's got their duties my goodness we're gonna have to throw Charlie hurt out of the bill.
They'll but the point is it that -- -- now I mean who never expected these debates to be disinterested.
I mean at least to meet it is fascinating.
And nobody it is it is a problem.
Now if you do.
Run these disorders switch this whole -- resident Romney is now only be incumbent he just say I'm sort of stand there and watch and Obama has -- to -- about his -- and somehow get.
It is this score some points to stop the momentum style and and make -- look foolish which.
We'll see event and that's -- -- I'm on these MI Obama as he saw from that feisty conclusion in the last it is so.
Camps for Iran the air whether it's pronouncing -- -- -- as -- -- or something like he's gonna make an -- in Obama's gonna market.
And so it that good in the end.
You know DN a mistake -- President Obama but he's anxious for independent Ronnie really wants to stay like this and out of those details to make him -- -- speaking of mocking.
The you know who I'm glad I'm not is -- Soledad O'Brien.
Because I think governor Sununu.
Is ready to talk as governor are you down there in Boca Raton I -- how are you.
-- -- Happy Monday to you Charlie -- and AB Stoddard send their best wishes to you down there -- They hadn't.
Very well both 8080 certainly -- he's certainly no I'm not vouching for Charlie.
But I am trying to be nice to Charlie that's -- it didn't immediately -- -- that's that's fair OK so good good question governor is this.
As.
Mitt Romney tries to prosecute he has he has at an intention to prosecute.
President Obama's foreign policy agenda.
And -- Actions in the last three and whatever years.
The president however and his -- say that they're gonna prosecute Mitt Romney for being a political opportunist.
On things like the rated Ben Ghazi in on things like that and they're gonna -- in the presence in the paint him as a war -- Gonna paint him as a dangerous person who is -- serious about foreign policy.
That's what they tried to do to Ronald Reagan to look this president's in real trouble.
His foreign policy is a shambles what what happened in -- -- is that it showed the emperor has no clothes on foreign policy.
And the way they've handled it since then.
Has made the foreign policy issue -- character issue this president's been caught lying three -- four times changing his story and distorting it.
The president tonight has to -- defend not just his foreign policy but his lack of -- and his lack of capacity to -- -- if you -- a consistent story as he tries to wiggle out of the fact that this was a terrorist attack and frankly that he never called that one in the Rose Garden the next day.
Does it matter governor that Mitt Romney.
Doesn't have the foreign policy portfolio does it matter that the president even if it was on the job training he still has the only job where you can get that -- Well -- but the president had none of that when he became president it's not disqualifying Ronald Reagan had the same kind of qualifications that Mitt Romney has.
Frankly that the fact is is that the most important thing about foreign policy when your president.
Is that you ought to take here intelligence briefings and this press didn't.
Let's get 60%.
His intelligence briefings one on one with the CIA folks in the experts that game.
To me that's the biggest foreign policy failing this administration.
Because that's when you really with the exchange you have back and forth there that's where you really understand what's going on around the world.
And develop a feel for what you have to do as president and foreign policy shame on this president for avoiding that.
And in terms.
Prosecuting them for governor Romney terms of prosecuting the president is Ben -- going to be the central line of attack.
Or is it a larger.
Well I think that but I think Mitt Romney a point out how ridiculous it was for this president.
To leave Iraq even though he followed the bush scheduled to leave Iraq without negotiating.
A status of forces agreement.
It -- it undermines.
What what the US invested in Iraq to try and fix things over there.
We no longer have a say in the process because he couldn't negotiate a status of forces agreement.
And Romney will probably point out.
How much it's playing into the Taliban's hands.
-- having set a fixed date for withdrawal from Afghanistan.
So the president may come in crowing about Iraq and Afghanistan.
And I suspect that Mitt Romney may point out to him that what he thinks are too great successes are really two great failures.
If you were Andrea Mitchell you would be sobbing softly by now but that.
Was New Hampshire governor former -- governor John -- governor we thank you very much for your time thank you very much.
Okay they don't call -- honey -- for nothing everything -- -- -- -- and again every time the governor is not he got a -- got to do you work in advance because there's nothing enjoys then taunting hosts.
Internet or otherwise and I feel like I have asked.
None of -- -- -- threshold.
Which is of course also the name of a bad late seventies and our -- threshold.
OK so here is the here's here's the question.
To put in and respect you know what this is a perfect time to plug power play I'm glad you mentioned that they did.
You can have it's the holidays.
So.
It was thought that that she was right it's time to plug -- race.
Today's power play would you have.
In non printed form just by following me it cease -- -- Sends is is headlined thus play and I know is I wrote it after a rotten month Obama needs to dominate debate is us and shortly before.
If you would have a month ago and looking at the Wall Street Journal -- -- looking at everything else.
If if you would a month ago had said.
Romney has an opportunity in foreign policy debate or Obama needs to turn things around and final debate it would have sounded a little crazy here.
No I really think that if -- can find a way to stay on the Benghazi story in that I can -- a generic way and not.
Getting down to the -- year old granular junk about the three words in a statement on Vista that.
It's terrible story for the Obama administration.
Generally speaking the American public does not think that that President Obama has been weak on al-Qaeda.
He's taken out forget Osama bin Laden more al-Qaeda leaders and the Bush Administration does did following many of the Bush Administration policies once he took office.
So that's not really gonna sell its generic -- week on a -- line.
Stay on Ben -- stand the fact that we still don't know the interest and the fact the American public may have been misled it's a terrible story for the Obama administration that stay away from sounding bellicose stay away from falling on track that we're going to protect provide.
Heavy weaponry in Syria.
Getting -- -- we can't get out of potentially armed groups that are anti Israel.
-- make a commitment on.
-- to a preemptive strike in Iran that we did no one wants to make a commitment to in this country stay in Afghanistan longer than the American public is willing to San.
All that stuff is a mistake it's political loser so Ben Ghazi works when he doesn't get -- transcripts.
But I think putting pressure on the president about whether or not we were misled.
It is a winner saying that you can -- al-Qaeda is a loser right.
So I the American people are -- we.
-- -- are they like the parts of the president's plan that includes withdrawal from Iraq.
New withdrawal depending withdrawal -- him he's your face now.
From Afghanistan.
Doesn't president have an opportunity Knight said Mitt Romney when you start re invading countries.
Yeah and I think it is there's definitely an opportunity here for -- -- advantage of that.
But like JB said if he stays at the 30000 feet talks about the fact that he knew we have not been to the friend Israel that we always have been.
And -- to sort of to governments in the over arching stuff I think that's successful.
We'll be successful but it I hate to always harp on this but are due in part her heart away.
-- I will.
The but.
And that we have just been through what we've just been through in Libya.
And the fact that that it is not front and center that that Mitt Romney is the one that has to keep bringing it up.
Or that read Republicans are partisan hacks -- or people like me have to keep bringing it up.
Ended the media is that that it's not just sort of front and center in the discussion of what is going up and it ain't pretty ranks scandal that happened a month ago.
And and there's that there is evidence that there is ignored intelligence there's evidence it was a disaster what happened and -- there was an as there's clear evidence that there was an attempt to sort of shaded facts.
Cover all.
What happens is words that -- -- just we're just where it's shocking to me that it's not on the front page of every two minutes to pieces on the cover of the New York Times I think.
It's actually on the front pages and I don't I don't -- it.
Everybody we have -- we have a lot more time for you to correct Charlie.
And Gordon -- really did yeah exactly lord knows -- and that you need time to set mr.
-- right trees in Baghdad.
But -- -- the -- indeed.
But the Internet needs a moment to collect itself after that much for excellence I believe.
Both it -- jag and -- governor Sununu.
So compose yourself and and I will be back in a second and we will talk about.
Swing state polling what it says about the race and all that -- -- -- -- -- -- cleaners and there you've got power points.
I think there is no course of action for you right now -- -- -- but to stick around.
We know what Barack Obama thinks about us.
So why would Mark -- vote for him in the top Obama advisor even said it creates -- common values that you want to.
Stress those -- southwestern Pennsylvania values.
Win win they play the -- music soundtrack you know that that.
Is a campaign attack added.
In that case that was the young gun.
Pack two people who used to work for Eric Cantor who are now trying to get people that Eric Cantor likes elected to congress that was their super pac ads running in southwestern Pennsylvania but they're looking for a bank shot not only hit democratic incumbent mark.
Chris but also to remind folks to remind the eastern -- -- -- Pittsburgh.
That Barack Obama used to think that they were a bunch of bitter clinger.
-- of sort of bad people.
This power -- welcome back.
So the trend is your friend so they say and there's nothing more important than momentum then win a presidential election enters its final couple of weeks.
And people who know about a minute because they experienced it in their own lives and their -- careers.
And in their own as Charlie -- -- -- jags and Charlie hurt.
Is here and so is AB Stoddard.
So let us and back look.
And I'm sorry to talk about others and from -- -- -- But Politico which is another publication happens to cover things about politics like -- But my big gay love momentum they wouldn't talk about -- -- Let's look at the poll that Politico did with George Washington University.
So here is.
Obama 47 Romney 49 going into his first lead.
That he has had in this contest and this is just the battleground states this is just in the battleground -- sorry California sorry Texas you don't count.
But certainly.
An improvement for Romney of one point but loss of two for the president taking run into its first lead.
And you saw there in Pennsylvania the Republicans are starting to nibble.
That the keystone state.
So.
The swing state trend.
-- what's the score.
Well I think -- what you saw after the Democratic National Convention in September was a surge enthusiasm among Obama's supporters.
Didn't feel so great before there Bill Clinton talk and they all gather together.
In Charlotte, North Carolina and then you saw also the same time -- -- big surge in donations to the party.
And everyone feeling good because the first debate he loses all momentum you see.
A hardening port for Mitt Romney among Republicans and Republican leaning independents now there -- means if you are after these two debates.
And all of this back and forth if you are still undecided.
Tonight.
Yet I don't think the debate tonight decides you but.
I do think that that's what we're looking -- to tip.
Mitt Romney -- or President Obama in in the final two weeks in those critical states right now you can look at.
Any -- to feel good.
It no matter what side you're on you can find polls show president Obama's -- -- Ohio aliens O'Reilly reasons you can rationalize that you can say that -- -- has all the momentum there and he's -- not tomorrow he's already had -- and I'll.
You can look at Nate silver's.
Modeling in the New York Times to mention New York Times again he's you know he has -- -- as President -- 66% chance of winning.
Britain Mitt Romney is ahead in many of the -- really most of them now so I think both sides can lose or win.
I don't think there's -- real leads for either it's gonna come -- right.
It's -- okay Charlie you can laugh literally you get the last words of -- cannot rebut or correct you because you deserve that once in your life and to not be rebutted or corrected.
And the question is this I watched it's a great pumpkin Charlie Brown with a little power plays over the weekend and there was Lucy with the football and I think he's in future -- I think if you look at it -- -- Pennsylvania written down the side Republicans always believe just like Charlie Brown believes that.
Pennsylvania this.
It's gonna happen it's gonna be as many they always end up on their -- head in -- right.
It is true but apparently has voted for Republican sometime in history.
Yes it is you want -- I think it was I think Ronald Reagan medical yeah.
-- yeah yeah yeah I've ever -- that is out of it is that bit at this point in 1980.
Will still suit you know Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter.
You know.
Trading -- I mean so.
Him and I and I would argue that as I have a long -- that that in this environment it's -- Obama if it's cut still cutting away from it's gonna I think it'll cut and -- to -- And remember this Internet I -- a pair of fresh yankees bat with Charlie hurt on who has predicted a Romney blowout.
On November -- so interviews second here -- going to be he's actually you guys that are undersized what does that what does -- say it's a 5552.
OK guys thank you very much for making time for us today and you should make time because coming up next.
Is on the hunt with none other than Jonathan Hunt who will be there to delight you Internet after this -- scare him.
Debate -- power play.
But before I let you go about some power points and here they are kicking the tires.
Picking a president.
To vote for -- -- presidential candidate vote for is an awful lot like buying a new car its major purchase people put a lot of thought into it.
There's emotion involved there's rationality involved there's money involved is all that stuff.
But here's the thing the analogy now is that.
Voters know exactly what they want out of this vehicle they want an economic turnaround.
They absolutely want an economic turnaround they want somebody that can kick it into overdrive so that's point one they know what they want.
But here's point two.
They have to know that whatever model they're looking at no matter how fast they can go on the economic track has the rest of the features that it needs that it states that -- secure that is other.
Everything else that they want air bags for their cup holders so that brings us to the third point.
Romney's task -- steady.
Mitt Romney cannot afford tonight as he tries to press the attack on Barack Obama to look like somebody who's going to invade or -- invade any countries that Americans are sick and tired.
Of being and he has to show that he's competent steady and capable.
Even if he feels like he's having a little sleepy.
So that's the thing I hope you're watching us and starting at 845.
At live dot foxnews.com.
And that you can.
Actually that way -- -- that remember you could have the cardinals giants game on and still be drinking deeply.
From the chalice of political excellence just get out Internet just pointing it out.
-- have a great day enjoy your time with Jonathan we'll see you back -- here tonight at 845 -- back here tomorrow.
