-- this is pretty big this was also something pretty big today earlier USA today an open letter the American people.
From some of the richest most successful.
Business investment interest on the planet effectively make you call.
For a change in leadership in this country to change the tone of this country.
Say before you vote on Election -- think carefully about the kind of the country we are creating for ourselves -- -- generations will be a country that demeans job creating business owners.
By saying you didn't build that or -- a country that protects free enterprise.
And allows everyone to pursue their -- assessed for reasons among those signing.
You've got a clip that's a son Michael -- you've got Jack.
Well just on my -- on and on and on we go pot -- -- the former.
Co-founder of Home -- the other co-founder of -- boat was not.
-- odds in this I don't know why dvds he's.
Can't sign everything advances his desk but anyway burning houses.
Joining us right now Bernie -- US to sign this.
The truth is I was asked to sign -- I said yesterday put my name down I I don't know maybe Jewish thing I'm not sure.
Well not on here either way.
I'm not -- but I should have been on here because you know this is is not politics it's not Republican it's not.
If it's not Democrat it's a it's business and -- see the the last three and a half years.
That this administration is not very friendly to business which means it's not friendly to creating jobs.
Look he -- read it anyway you want I know that he's speaking to businessmen all over the country and I do I do speak to a lot of these people.
They're terrified about the next the next four years and they should be rightfully so.
-- word about obamacare which they're terrified.
I'm I use the word -- and -- needed most of don't have a clue what they're gonna do.
They worried about their banking.
They know that we've Dodd-Frank that many of these the community banks to be out of business.
And -- be remaining with just the big giants on Wall Street.
There -- some of the issues that the -- deal that the small business guy is is worried about.
And that's why we don't have jobs in America things as simple as that.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist with some of these people.
Obviously think you can whip and and and reports don't do it.
A great speeches don't do it.
You have to be able to change those regulations.
Get the RA off people's backs.
Get the the NLRB off people's backs get the IRS off people's backs.
And you'll see jobs created.
You know you could look at the list though but when I looked through -- answered that these are not small or medium sized business guys.
These are titans these are guys like yourself -- Have a lot of -- a good many of them are billionaires I mean we've had Nelson -- we've got lord -- that we got more Smart.
Dan Lufkin Steve -- so I could go on and on and had -- and explain who these people are suffice it to say that most of them.
Are they the cream of the crop right.
So if it's almost like -- -- -- -- cream of the crop loves Mitt Romney so that could cut both ways right I mean because they -- right -- -- They've got their nose out of joint with the president today so it doesn't represent -- fairly depict them so we could boomerang right then the president was saying well if I had to take anyone off.
I'm OK doing that -- these guys because I'm looking out for you guys had hitting.
Mitt Romney should respond to that.
Well you know these are the only people -- have the access to the media.
A small guy that owns three restaurants.
You don't think in -- -- years he's going to get on your show.
Or get into the wall street journal of the New York Times or anywhere else.
I mean he has no voice out there that's why we started something called the job creators alliance.
Which really represents a small business people are they don't have a voice and therefore somebody has to speak to them look.
-- I remember when I was -- small business guy back in 7879.
He started Home Depot.
We went through all of these problems -- of the five or six years.
Of living through you know worrying about paying the bills worry about paying the lights.
Cutting the air conditioning off in the middle of the day to save money so we could pay our bills I remember all of those things and I haven't forgotten about it.
And most of those people have the same kind of experience so -- kind of representing.
What the small business guys going through who who right now as I said -- you.
Who's he gonna talk to nobody is the listened to them nobody's -- -- -- be -- the student Amanda works out there has you know 150 people working for.
He does -- have a lobbyist in Washington.
Taking its case before the congress.
He doesn't have people who go to bat for him he struggles everyday to make his bills and keep the 150 people he's -- working.
On on his staff and he is concerned because let me tell you a couple of things they've told me.
When obamacare comes down the -- they're probably let young people.
If they become unionized dig -- hole that killed people.
Many of them have no plans.
In this environment than burning desires that tonight it could you do what you did that I mean -- you had to start Home Depot now in this environment.
He's you started on the -- can and -- -- in a very tough environment that you think you could do the same now.
No there is no way I can give you details about it but I get Ted you there is no wave at Home Depot.
Could ever be what it is today it's got 300000 employees but I'm not with The Home Depot anymore I resigned I retired back in ninth 2002.
But I get paid -- 300000 people that would not be with -- today.
If we -- the same environment and tried to start The Home Depot today it had a tragic thing to talk about that is terrorism.
And this is what we're leaving for our children now and if we have three more years four more years of this administration.
With their philosophies.
-- people's will not be able to to grow on me it'll happen -- Yeah I -- you wanna take a little bit of your head units up at -- ever but I do want to say here's what's remarkable about The Home Depot -- you started this.
And you weren't remotely -- I never realized that you had not a handy cell in your body.
Which I admire all the warmth that you did this and what did this why do you -- apparently -- was and how do you tell people about that.
No I did I just thought you know if I started Italian restaurant -- people if they would that figures we could see that.
But it would use our Home Depot you you didn't know what Phillips from.
Is -- a non Phillips yes all right a flatter so I admire them greatly apparently -- actually.
This is you know my father was a wonderful cabinet maker.
-- from Russia and he could make up anything and he was too good for me whenever I tried to help them he would say please I'll do myself.
That's that.
Have Bernie Marcus a pleasure thank you just ripping you -- converted -- America's success sort of one of the most successful this country has ever known -- world of business and not a handy bone in his body.
