Hi I'm Bill O'Reilly thanks for watching us tonight who won the final debate -- that is a subject of this evening's talking points memo nobody wian.
But we the American people lost.
That's because the debate was boring.
Same old stuff over and over and where were the pointed questions by moderator Bob Schieffer.
I mean where was oblivious of the Pakistan stuff all the questions -- general.
Which allowed both candidates to recite their talking points.
-- morning -- CBS I laid out why the debates are not serving the public as well as they should be.
All three of the debate.
-- yours will not press the issue.
Like you do 16 -- you won't see a more aggressive a moderate I want the answers to the questions if you're gonna say we have to be Pakistan's friend.
As governor Romney did that you're gonna have to explain how you get there when Pakistan.
Is actively killing US soldiers.
Not just say well we have to be their friend.
Well how are you gonna do that.
When you've got scientists in prison for helping us get Osama that a lot.
Those questions aren't any but a moderate.
He is trying to get something happening any time to get the candidate to engage each other it seems to me that the greatest and you're making goes to governor Romney.
Not to anyone else because the moderate what was the goal here is to get them.
Engage each other can -- ask you questions -- contest did you learn one thing during a debate last night one.
Well I learned that perhaps governor Romney believes he's ahead and therefore he took.
And approach not to be as confrontational as some expected him to -- but that's a reception on your part to correct that's okay right.
So you didn't learn anything because I didn't learn anything from.
I don't -- one thing I know there was nothing there that they said about those issues that I did not know or have not so engaged on this program and others why are we wasting ninety minutes of the American public's time if we're not learning anything.
Well I mean I think they probably learned something about that you -- is by watching that even though it might not have been a specific point on a specific issue.
I mean there is something about demeanor there's something about temperament there's something about how they handle themselves.
Under the glare than us that Dr.
Phil in at all no stop that car is not -- -- That a key question is why the governor Romney avoid asking President Obama about the chaotic Libyan situation.
I hope I get -- a governor that -- we -- seeking an interview with him and also with President Obama.
My guess is that mr.
Romney wanted to appear benign in the debate in order to court single women voters polled say Romney's running behind.
And many ladies do not like confrontation.
So the governor might have decided to take a softer approach last night knowing the president would be aggressive which you us.
The governor hoping that women would respond positively.
My work might work -- last season legal ladies what they think -- -- let Iran.
As the President Obama to CNN and CBS snap polls say he won the debate but what exactly -- win.
The president look.
And certainly his foreign policy knowledge is not superior.
To the governors both men seem to understand the issues they just have a different world view.
In the end the third debate was tedious.
And that's a memo now -- the top story tonight.
