-- -- -- Larry who -- editor of the national review into the conversation here I didn't see him any moment of glory wrong.

Iraq and sports around to -- cameras rich fantasy.

Very good thank you couldn't see beautiful Easter dinner how we can all.

Are you face to face -- -- a close look playing doubles that would you but especially today you're you've got a real concern about it.

The new information go to that thing -- the attack on the consulate that and the -- The much of the media has comedy.

-- are not comment that I guess the point you know I think the way this is has gone almost from the beginning it's -- fox and Eli -- of the Daily -- leading the way and a lot of the media kind of reluctantly put him behind them -- -- -- as well absolutely but variation in this story.

And I think just Jonathan just with the news cycle here.

I think it fit in terms of the attention from the mainstream media's kind gonna fade out a little bit for the next two east and there was this can be so obsessed with the polls in the horse race.

And then if the president gets reelected bush -- -- I don't -- gonna happen but it could if he gets reelected.

And I think we'll see usually and investigations in congress so get massive coverage it wouldn't shock me if you end up with perjury indictments released perjury referrals from a congressional committee not a specific.

-- don't rich -- the wall.

-- incident.

Should they have comfortable just struck me that there was a lot of coverage in the beginning -- talking about that.

For a perhaps these sort of emails that the folks got a hold all the people not following all home the yeah -- in this fox and Eli lake just really dug in to this thing and it was who know who's who knew -- when.

And what actually happened on the ground and it really could kind treating it as -- a serious.

Matter.

And for our country and one that narrated really serious investigation and when the press gets its clause in the something and won't let go.

Can't they get to the bottom of things and I think that's what you saw fox and the Daily Beast reporter.

Doing I don't think you see not so much of that for sure it exists is acing very very -- there's it's hard to think most serious -- there -- one for Americans and move the seats.

Come to Dutch youth would you agree with rich that the coverage of this is.

-- -- the inside as fast being tainted by some of the editor's politics.

I think overall coverage have continued my politics and it's then.

Where won the Romney campaign wanted to and guide the press play.

Coming out the night out before the -- -- been notified they politicize it and so.

The coverage overall has been so focused on that he had the effect on the campaign and how it plays into the debate.

And -- England -- get back to you is I think this is a missed opportunity for the investigation to.

-- this is a place in the exact same way that we saw on September 11 when.

We had agencies that weren't talking to each other changes were made and -- CNN Homeland Security.

-- department was set up what are the lessons that can come out of this and and ideally the press.

Would be a part of that conversation to get a fair and instead their focus has been.

On the -- potential cover up from conservatives say that doesn't cover up to you know the mainstream media just responding to the back and forth between them on -- Want to lose it if they deferred certain sections of the media have left it alone recently -- -- lifted entirely alone but given it less weight recently.

Because the Romney campaign itself has backed off a great deal ever since Monday we didn't hear won't mention from governor only slips -- bank and Gaza.

Well I think that's entirely appropriate I think that governor John -- full.

Gone -- -- that's because because other people there are doing that for him if you want to look at it that way.

Live view -- the press accounts would be that there have been two ways of looking at this story what happened then.

You know instruments -- the need for an investigation so for the New York Times for example has covered that but they have never talked about the fact that the president.

Perhaps willfully distorted what actually happened I think there is the story of what happened which is disgraceful enough but then there's also this story.

A cover up or obfuscation is my word because I think that's kind of what it was from and annex I these two different things.

What -- the idea that certain.

News organizations would look.

-- something like the emails instant email we going to say that Jessica say Hillary Clinton commented -- sent within a couple of hours of the attack.

Saying that -- -- Al Sharia the al-Qaeda wing in Libya has claimed responsibility secular state Clinton.

Said well you know what are we going to believe this terrorist groups saying that they didn't have the image there announcing -- on FaceBook and Twitter addicts have.

-- -- -- -- Absolutely -- point that we have heard again and again some group or another claim responsibility it is more about their ego than anything.

It's -- but I mean it's very curious that the the there's so many.

It's the strengths of this thing -- is still need to be pulled this very curious that almost immediately have the reporting that this was a a real honest to goodness terrorist attack -- the terror group take responsibility for it but then you have the emphasis on the video for two weeks running including.

From the -- United States himself at the United Nations.

So.

At the very least.

I think the administration should have been much more modest and what -- saying we don't really know there conflicting stories.

And -- I think there's a default to the video because as much more convenient story.

For them for the reasons it -- been.

Talking people to the video when they couldn't -- the -- more -- at the very least it does look like they had a clearer idea.

Than they were letting on -- didn't you know notwithstanding President Obama is.

Generalized.

Comment on terror attacks in the rose.

And now we want to -- secretary of state to look at something that's posted on FaceBook and then take that as a matter fact -- -- I think it is proper to actually questioned what they knew and when they knew it.

But you know -- -- if you've just.

Take away the politics of it I think most normal people from a common sense standpoint can look at this and say well.

If this terrorist group took -- millions.

Be being you know uprising in Cairo and took advantage of what was publicly being -- was uprising around the studio but it was a terrorist attack that those two things don't have to you know be completely separate that.

There there could have been some sort of understanding -- -- thinking within the administration that it was still tied to this to this video.

But it wasn't terrorist group that was -- it to this video.

I mean that that just doesn't seem completely unreasonable right and we got a only look at it from the lives of politics and partisanship and you don't get that -- -- -- to -- to wrap everything up there are rich -- what do you know all of this.

You think not an issue you -- the next twelve days or not a big issue next -- days.

But a huge issue.

In the next term of whoever is really second if if Obama is reelected -- usually second terms don't go well and they usually don't go well because there's some sort of scandal that distracts the administration.

This very well could be yet if he's reelected all right OK Rich Lowry editor of national review great to have you -- provides fast -- one of those vehicles.

You can see every weekend Saturdays and Sundays three to 4 PM eastern on FOX News -- hosted -- the indefatigable.

Fastball -- -- -- -- Fox News contributor thank you very much -- -- -- --
