-- gonna switch gears we're gonna head to Los Angeles on my favorite places on the planet.

And we are going to be talking with our friend -- at city editor in chief of rotten tomatoes dot com.

Matt good to see you again I enjoyed talking to you last Friday where we talk a little bit about the movies.

There were coming out their work cut -- some clunkers you're telling people to avoid all what's -- -- yes now let's go out for this weekend.

-- you know the critics aren't really wild about the movies that are in theaters but there's a couple of -- actually personally like.

The big one this weekend is probably cloud outlets this is the latest film from Atlanta and Andy -- -- Who directed the matrix movies.

This -- also co directed.

By German director -- -- -- -- and this is I have to Warren watchers it's a three hour movie it's not a short film so.

-- don't have a big soda before you -- But that being said it does not feel like three hours that's the critics are kind of split on it summit call it really.

Over done -- pretentious but some of them really call this an epic film and that's kind of where I come down personally.

I've still you have 50% on our tomato meter which is rotten but I liked it I thought it stayed very interesting for the three hours I think that.

You know I think it's a -- that this is interesting thing it manages to -- -- six different stories.

That take place across hundreds of years.

They cut some altogether at the same time and it makes them more exciting than -- be individually.

I don't know that it all comes together in the end but I think you've got really good performances.

From Tom Hanks and Halle Berry -- Hugo Weaving all playing multiple roles.

It's a fascinating film it even though it's flawed I think it's definitely worth watching.

And I was sad to see now is chasing mavericks.

Not getting a good review because I was really excited about this one.

-- chasing mavericks is the latest film starring Gerard Butler and it's a story.

Based on the true story about diet had served pretty.

The mavericks surf break for now now for those people that are familiar with that this is a break up in the -- cruiser happened happened today.

That these -- -- -- like you know 2030 feet they're huge waves and very dangerous effect.

I Gerard Butler was in some paralyzed actually filmed this but he came out okay.

This -- -- the critics are saying really isn't as exciting as the subject matter really demands and that's really where kind of falls apart.

Which is unfortunate because now only about 30% of -- manner.

-- about any of these were his -- wet -- at least try it.

Yeah exactly you know you see without assured no I think the ladies have that -- look forward.

All right very good and we move on to those sides -- -- movie about.

The -- size.

Is a story about a high school girl lives senior high school who -- -- have been able to go to the -- party on Halloween night.

I should get stuck taking her younger brother trick or treating her younger brother who's about six or seven.

And she really of course because it's a movie loses her younger brother and hijinks ensue.

This really I think had some really sharp jokes it's a pretty good performances.

Some great appearances by Chelsea handler here at Johnny Knoxville I think the movie was mostly pretty funny.

But I have to tell you as a parent I was horrified.

Because the kid you -- disappears he ends up today.

Convenience store right around in a car with the convenience store clerk with no seat belt.

-- -- -- -- Right as a parent I just by -- -- -- But as a movie watcher I thought it was pretty funny now most of the critics don't really like this it's only about the twenties with the -- -- But I thought that for its target audience I think -- which are teenagers they're gonna have a good time but I have to warn parents.

Let your teens go to this movie by themselves don't go because you'll just be horrified -- Are right well that's why we have you on the show we want to hear it from -- you've -- -- movies give us in the fair warning so we know or walking into.

And of course looking at the tomato -- so mad at city editor in chief rotten tomatoes dot com you can follow Matt on Twitter at.

-- cheek and also out rotten tomatoes and go of course to the web site.
