Welcome back we'll since 2009 select college football teams have -- specially designed uniform for one game to honor the wounded warrior project.
The jerseys have been auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the wounded warrior project.
And -- Swanson is retired from the National Guard and she was the first responder.
To ground zero following September 11 terrorist attacks and -- and served in the army for eight years as an airborne infantry men.
With the 82 airborne division -- joining us a lot of welcomes constant friend.

When you heard about this program -- what the wounded warrior project is doing with with college football how did you respond and here is all of the all of these teams getting behind.
What you guys have gone through and honoring our men and women in uniform what was your response.
It was an honor to be part of it and to know that these college teams are are taken -- -- from their schedules and their normal routines.
To honor our service and the service at nine women and restore of America.
And where did you think when you know this whole stadium will be rooting for you and others who were wounded -- wearing these jerseys to today -- -- and cultures.
You know -- -- honored by because sit in it also lets us know that how so just enough of that.
Now and that they they still people who.
Concerned about safety and wellbeing and and I sporting that's.
Well we honor you today you know you guys represented honor and integrity and courage and duty and country in all things that are on the back of those those those jerseys.
It must make you feel so good that people are a really grateful for what you've done right.
It it does it it truly does -- you come back and you're transitioning back from the military and civilian life -- you you're concerned every day about what that transitions going to be like.
And when you see things like that's it it makes your sacrifice worth it.
We are we honor the wounded warriors project here -- -- -- these guys are just fantastic in the things that they do for our returning veterans are incredible John you.
Served in the army for eight years in the airborne as we talked about.
Now with the 82 airborne division and two tours of combat in Afghanistan one toward Iraq and you were injured by a roadside bomb.
How what was a transition like for you coming back and one of the wounded warriors project due for you.
It was a tough transition because then you're coming back into civilian life and you're giving up everything you've known for for me for last eight years.
After those injuries one warrior project stepped in and they really brought back that sense of camaraderie and family and brotherhood.
Something that a lot of us -- every day when you're not and that uniform anymore.
