Andy card now school was former chief of staff to Woodward's bush and we want to talk to him about his thoughts about the ongoing investigation.

In the big guys -- terror attacks welcome -- great to have you on board today.

Great to be with you a month.

Let me pick your thoughts on that -- This situation at the White House hope.

Well the situation at the White House we've had so many conflicting.

Comments from people in the administration I think would think that -- -- -- start that.

Tell us exactly what they knew and when they knew it but it's obvious that the statements that secretary.

-- the attorney US representative to the United Nations made.

That the attacks from centered around a video clip just not accurate and we know now that the brave men and women who serve and intelligence services have been asking for help.

They asked to be able to help the ambassador were denied permission to go help the ambassador and try to save him.

And then when they asked for help for themselves for protection.

They were denied protection or at least that's -- looks like mall because once the we're now learning let me ask you this so many questions.

I guarantee that the White House -- kind of real time what was happening and they did not -- the leadership that they should of offered.

I want to ask you this says sir you know we heard from Charles woods this week his remarks so moving and compelling about his son.

It is baffling to now discovered that pleas for back up help were denied.

And that we know that as -- events unfolded in that attack.

They were being monitored in real time now from your experience in the White House given the fact that this happened over seven hours.

Would the president be looped in is there any chance.

He could not have known how serious this wise.

I doubt that they could have been any chance of the president don't didn't know what was going on on how serious was.

I suspect that he was well informed.

I guarantee that the White House situation room -- knew what was happening and I suspect that that information went immediately to the deputy national security advisor the national security advisor.

The Homeland Security advisor probably the chief of staff and I suspect it would have been taken to the president and the vice president.

I also suspect that the secretary of defense and CIA director.

Probably the secretary of state.

And I suspect that you would've had a lot of communication that would have been taking place from subordinates and those agencies to.

Figure out what and in fact was happening we know that they had communication directly from the people on the ground.

We also know that they had the ability.

Filming what was happening -- broadcasting what was happening back to the secure communications moved from back in Washington DC which would have included the White House situation room.

OK given that since you know what goes on the White House situation room and you know firsthand what happens once -- prices and -- way.

Who would give final orders about a military response.

From -- with -- the Defense Secretary or the president himself could give the order to stand down.

That's what we've got to find out I can't imagine that the -- to stand down would have been given I don't know would've been given that order.

Maybe in order to bring in more troops and -- a pact would have had come from the president from the secretary of defense but I suspect and ordered that.

To stand down probably did not come from that high up in the chain of command but we gonna find out we should find out.

I'm surprised the president has been harmful content I wanna find out what angry about it instead he says be patient before.

If I -- -- president and I didn't know what was happening I would be pretty upset and I would be demanding some -- right now and he isn't even seem to be demanding the answers.

I just suspect his national security advisor and deputy national security advisor Homeland Security advisor would have -- that was going on.

If the president didn't know about it shame on them for not telling the president.

And I can't believe that the president would be angry that he didn't know but he doesn't express.

Any disappointment -- he says is let's let's see what happens with the investigation and that's not the way to lead.

Let me ask you this our Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says the military lacked enough information to intervene.

And didn't want to put our forces at risk but in the congressional investigation that happened a couple weeks back State Department officials confirmed that those events were monitored real time.

We also know there's a video to back that up and military drones were in the area.

How could mr.

Panetta say they lacked information.

That's a question that I think should be answered.

Now I can understand someone trying to make it -- an informed decision and make you be maybe even saying it we can't put other people interest to.

Find a solution.

I don't think that's been the default position I think the default position probably should be we're gonna go help these people -- -- rescue them at least try you could have at least sent planes overhead making lots of noise.

Scaring people on the ground.

I don't even think they tried to do that.

But we've got to find out what they did do but what we know right now is they did not respond.

Kind of in real time to the real request for help.

They didn't even authorized these young people to -- in this CIA to -- and protect the ambassador when they were ready willing and able.

Instead they went in it was too late and Tiger Woods is a hero for having gone in to try to.

Rescue the ambassador and when he got there the ambassador was already dead and -- in his body was probably gone.

He helped to bring.

Other people while concluding I think a dead person.

And yet.

He's a hero -- woods is a hero.

And it's outrageous that we don't know more about what happened.

Clearly hasn't -- enough time to understand what happened what we do know for sure.

Is what the administration put out is the reason for the attack was not the reason for the attack this was not a response to a video clip for a trailer from a movie.

This was in response to a planned orchestrated terrorist attack on the ambassador who they knew was gonna be in that consulate office and then thousand.

Aren't so would you call this a -- and should that video that we keep hearing about being released to the public.

Well I don't know that I know enough to say it's a cover up.

I can say that it appears that people were not been sharing information that they should -- at the right time with the right people and that beyond that if the president and others at the White House knew that what's.

The ambassador rice was going to say on TV or would then the Press Secretary to the president was going to say to the press corps.

Was not accurate they should've stopped them from saying something that they knew was not accurate.

And I suspect they knew that the spin that was being put out by ambassador rice and by the Press Secretary we're not accurate and if may be Secretary Rice didn't know what was happening but someone -- What the truth was and they someone must have allowed -- it won't say what.

Was not the truth.

And I think think that's an outrageous situation I'm not sure I would say there was a cover -- of the event in May just been been buried war.

-- of malicious communications in the within the White House.

Andy card it's a pleasure to have you on the program thank you so much for joining your insights we appreciate it.

And.
