On the way for storm victims of the relief organizations samaritans purse is saying volunteers and trucks of supplies to the hardest hit areas reverend Franklin Graham -- the group's president and CEO and a good friend of on the -- -- -- good evening reverend.
The good evening Greta thank you for having me and a grownup person there I just wanna say.
Our prayers.
Are with the families that are that are of the victims of this great storm and especially our condolences to the cameras that have lost their loved ones.
-- many people pray and I don't want those that are watching that are in and then there's still lose in the middle of the storm.
That there -- a lot of people -- it.
I don't know I suppose people -- lots of good pictures we've put on Greta wire and aired here but this -- purses are really finally boiled.
That machinery almost.
They just got off the plane from Sudan -- yesterday preaching my right to the trucks tell me tell me what you have been headed out to help these people.
But we've got Greta we've got tractor trailers.
That are filled with tools and equipment and what we do as we Poland to.
An area will find a local church so we can work with and then we'll have volunteer teams that come from churches all across the United States.
And what we do is we manage these these teams will go out into the community.
Find homes that need help.
And we'll take a work order and then -- -- a work team two that to that home.
We already have 200 volunteers waiting to go our -- sure Delaware right now waiting to go in the governor of New Jersey -- -- of volunteers not come in right now.
That the -- wait till the public safety is there -- you've got power poles down you've got to high tension.
Power lines on these kinds of things that are -- the rose those things have to be out of the way before anybody can go win.
But we're we're there and we hope to go -- probably tomorrow maybe the next day.
We've already identified.
About four different areas that we wanna go we've dispatched three trucks we've got to they -- hold him back and reserve.
To see where there's if there's a greater need that comes to our attention in the next couple labeled the specialist drugs but we got a lot of volunteers struggle that are ready to come.
And we have -- -- -- 200 but we have hundreds more that will come in the next few days.
Part in terms of these -- what -- -- I -- some -- chain saws in case people about trees down and our houses are undercard but tell me what's in these trucks.
It's chain -- -- generators.
All types of hand tools.
Who will be especially when you have a flood like this -- it takes there's a lot of silt.
-- that is left when the water receipts.
You'll have sometimes several feet of mud in the basement of -- -- that has to be taken out by hand there's no other way you can do it just to buckets and shovels.
They hand -- just some strong backs and that's what these volunteers will -- will go into a home and help them actually mother we call it a -- out you you might help the home.
If you take places like Atlantic City where you have these casinos and than people think of those casinos.
There are a lot of middle class standard and -- Holmes in that community.
And these people -- largest deficit they've got to have help -- volunteers don't come and help them clean up.
They're going to be sitting there for months to come in what happens is mold.
Begins -- to grow in these houses so you've got to get the -- -- you've got to drive at.
And then to where there's mold you've got to be able take issue -- also the walls can dry out.
And then you'll have teams to come back can help them repair.
When I -- -- -- finally all machine idea and I think I because I've been down there it is actually almost like firemen is that that you've got all those trucks ready they're all stocked and ready to go.
That the tragedy or calamity happens your volunteers -- up the trucks go out the door and now -- just waiting to get the green light even if we it's it's so -- so well organ and it or an organized and that people can read more about it on samaritans -- dot org but it it's an amazing operation to get help the people who need it reverend thank you -- Thank you brought up.
