All we want to talk about movies.

You know there's a lot going on in the world Lotta people like to escape get into movie theater have a little reprieve.

Understandable but not all of those out there -- coming out this weekend are getting good reviews so that's why we like to talk to Matt.

Actually editor in chief of rotten tomatoes dot com good to see you again this week.

So you're joining us live from Los Angeles where all the action is.

We're talking about rotten tomatoes.

Tells about the movies coming out this week and maybe what we should avoid.

We've got some good choices this week first up the one is probably getting the most notice as far as the Oscar buzz is concerned his flight.

That stars Denzel Washington it's directed by Robert some actress that's his first live action movies directed.

Since -- back in 2003.

This is a story about a pilot who.

Manages to avert disaster.

In a plane crash and save most of everybody on board -- story similar to Sully Sullenberger but imagine if the -- had been drunk when he had been flying that plane.

Which is of course obviously a big -- -- when -- airline pilot or any type of pilot is so the question becomes whether or not -- -- character can.

Managed to keep it together enough to get past the FAA investigation and whether or not he's gonna face his own demons he's a highly functional alcoholic in this -- the performance of Denzel puts in is fantastic and the critics are mostly really liking this.

The -- in the seventies on the tomato meter that's gonna vary a little bit more reviews command but for the most part the critics are really positive.

This story does get a little bit melodramatic but I think that this is definitely worth seeing I think themselves can end up walking away.

With at least an Oscar nomination for best actor is not the wind so far.

Wow all right and then you have wreck it Ralph what's this about.

Wreck -- Ralph.

-- -- animated movie about a video game character voiced by John C.

Reilly who is the villain in his holds its.

This is very old school video game who's tired of being the villain for thirty years and wants to be the hero so he jumps out of his -- stars going and other games.

There's a lot to like here for almost everybody I think gamers and non gamers alike.

Will enjoy this film there's.

References to other video games but it's not overwhelming it's a great story the kids are gonna have a good time.

The adults are gonna like it to its funny the story is deeper than you'd expect -- -- just.

A silly video game movie you get really involved with the characters I found myself getting really disappointed.

When one of the characters does something he shouldn't do.

I like this really a lot and it's.

Getting good reviews from the critics it's in the eighties on the tomato meter -- critics really recommend it and I think it's probably going to be number one of the box office this weekend.

-- real -- and I'll be interested to see that I said.

That's always interesting if you see an animated movie topping and also the man with iron fist coming out as -- says so some yeah.

Well the critics are split on this one but I got to tell you -- actually really enjoyed it now I understand why some of the critics don't like it this movie.

Does have -- a messy things going on and it this is written and directed by the -- leader of the Wu tang clan.

And if you know anything about that group you know that their mythology is steeped in Kong through history.

They're big fans to come through movies and this is basically the resumes.

Loving homage to classic Shaw Brothers -- to the movies the came at a Hong Kong in the seventies.

You've got some real actors in this including Lucy -- and Russell Crowe Russell -- Clearly having the time of his life -- -- -- That the movie was cut down significantly from resumes for our original cut cut down about ninety minutes.

And so there's some really big holes in the narrative.

I liked it but it's pretty much exactly what you're gonna expect if you let a rapper rated content from -- I thought it was good but a lot of the critics are pretty good while it could have been a lot better than this it's kind of a -- and so the scores only in the fifties at the moment.

Wow okay.

So that we -- and going over these three that are coming out this weekend it certainly sounds like and we're putting up the screen right now about the ratings.

-- -- at 84% certified fresh.

Flight seven 9% France.

And the mammoth iron fist 57%.

No consensus quite yet all of this of course can be found on rotten tomatoes dot com.

But it sounds like you're you're rooting for flight -- even though.

Wreck it Ralph becoming number one sounds like you like flight the best that's is that right you know I have to say I actually like all three of them are a lot.

But I say I say you know depending on what you're into this week -- you've got some great choices.

I think that even if you're willing to go and see iron -- -- artifice.

That's the kind of thing that you're hoping to see you're -- -- be really satisfied with this but if you're looking for something more adult -- -- flight.

But if you've got kids to -- the movie you can't go wrong with wreck -- Ralph I think it's a great weekend for movies.

Okay and before I let you go I just have to ask you on a personal -- and debating between two movies I think you've seen both of our pick flight or -- ago.

What what should Agassi I'd have to go and Argo I think our guns -- better felt.

All right -- well after I heard eerie view last week I I definitely the week before I definitely wanted to see it so.
