A fab four fans ultimate road trip -- thanks for doing this what made you make this movie.
Well I love The Beatles ever since the late sixties.
-- much and I wanted to get to know them more if I possibly could you know I listen to their songs for decades now.
And that well that's very satisfying.
Getting to hear these stories from different people that were part of their lives.
We've got got -- to know them a little bit little bit deeper James.
How many interviews did you conduct and how many interviews wound up in the final cut of the movie.
Well I did about eighty interviews altogether.
And 52 or in the movie but I did another about thirty minutes on the bonus.
Bonus stuff that's -- injuries he did so I didn't want to leave out -- yes and wanna leave out any.
Were there any people that you really desperately tried to get to and who said no.
-- actually know.
-- for the people I really wanted to get dean they shared my enthusiasm for.
You know The Beatles and it was just you know when I contacted Brian Wilson not me personally but somehow I found a way it all of the people I don't know -- everybody in Beatles world.
Yes of the beach was.
They just lit up and you could see it in the movie too when you ask him when I asked -- these questions they were just like.
That they couldn't wait to tell their story so I actually went for people that I knew some of their stories before -- dug deep that I had.
You know.
You know found some stories that I thought were terrific that maybe hadn't been heard before so while -- really got who I want it to.
And and -- so it -- from what you're saying in some cases you knew kind of what to expect and others I guess you didn't.
We're just gonna read out some of the names of some the celebrities were who were in this dvd talking to sets were ski.
About their encounters with The Beatles they include Lucy Baines Johnson the daughter of LBJ.
Much gosh the -- Henry -- -- And -- -- -- of the doors.
And all kinds of people gosh and -- Peter noon of Herman's permits Frank Gifford.
And Donovan.
And and all kinds of people now some of these are folks who worked closely with The Beatles.
Probably the person most jealous -- in terms of your ability to meet and interview on the subject to sir George Martin.
Who was The Beatles producer for almost all of their music.
What was that like for you where was that conducted and and what did you learn from George Martin.
Well I was backstage when the Las Vegas show.
Love was premiering.
And he told me to meet him backstage and you know I had my camera on everything this is all -- hand held camera type project and I -- -- this whole interview with them but what was so interesting is when I told them that I just finish interviewing Norman hurricane Smith The Beatles first a long time.
Recording engineer who had been there at their -- June 6 1962.
All the way up through and including rubber soul.
Source that I just finished interviewing Norman Smith and he goes Norman Smith.
I thought it was dead.
It's a lot.
I thought to myself well.
-- that's a piece of news right there that that that's all that needs to be in the movie does that little clip of George Martin because.
You figure they weren't such a small room together and it was only the four Beatles.
George Martin and Norman Smith.
That really made the sound that change the world that was really the six of them.
So is very interesting to hear George saying that he wasn't even aware of of Norman some whereabouts really are -- the idea -- to be -- in touch for the DS for contact info.
No he didn't but what's very interesting is that in the dvd as I mentioned before that I gave 25 extra minutes in -- of the rest of the interview I did with Norman Smith at his house.
He picked me up -- the train station in Sussex England.
And -- I -- in the car.
And Norman Smith picks me up I couldn't believe and I just.
Didn't know what to ask you first James ides I said Norman I'm just gonna I'm just gonna throw words that I did those song titles -- -- please please me.
Or hard day's night and we went for six or seven hours.
And I could only get a minute and a half of them in the movie but I included an extra half an hour on the dvd just of all the extra things that he said.
You know James Jones ninety tweets to us I've followed The Beatles my whole life since I was a kid brings back childhood memories good idea for this project Seth.

Remind -- that in and that about 90 city on Sunday morning the phone rings which was unusual -- my house.
It was the economy and Paul said we're doing this thing over -- would you like to come and beat upon that we invited a bunch of our friends of the nominal Christian then absolutely.
-- he should be a fun time you're gonna come so I should absolutely -- how -- that we went down to him -- the big room now and witnessed.
All you need is love being in televised.
I think it was the very first satellite broadcast that it had taken place.
So it was kind of an important.
Important event and any excuse for -- potty in the sixties was taken.
The drop of the -- to you wanna party let's go there was a very interest in the afternoon and evening deal orchestra was indeed.
It went flawlessly.
I can give myself whistling at me and then you know I just have great warm feeling about that day you know we was safe.
Community recording studio.
And I looked around everyone from millions.
And these.
You don't who lots of people -- We knew it was a special afternoon.
We knew that something magical was -- have gone.
Or Graham Nash of the hallways and of course Crosby, Stills and Nash and Crosby stills Nash and young.
We're calling on his attendance at the live broadcast of all you need is love in 1967 for swept -- sets were -- -- It it has to be asked have you ever met a beetle.
Yes I met George back in 1987.
I had written the song co written a song called tell it to my heart for Taylor Dayne.
And it was on the charts and I bumped -- to George Harrison that a dinner.
In Los Angeles.
And I couldn't believe that I mean you know he was his song got my mind -- on -- his comeback song was number eight on the charts.
And tell it to my heart was number 70 we got into a conversation.
And then I finally said hey what do you do one on Friday.
-- want to write a song together.
And he says well I'm -- -- Bobby on Friday and I'm thinking I'm being turned down for Bob -- you know Harrison they'll pass on a little bit better than -- -- -- And one other very quick story I was on the treadmill and took two years ago and right next to me with Paul McCartney he's at my -- in LA.
And I'm thinking to myself -- my gonna tell my interviewed for my movie.
And he keeps -- he he got off the treadmill -- he looked at me as if to say you got 12 asked me a question that.
And I said you know I interviewed I I interviewed Norman Smith because -- loose -- -- -- oh my god he starts to tell stories people from the -- start to gather around.
And he took my hand and he goes you know what you gave me -- great gift today thank you for taking me back there so that.
Just it's like when you meet your idols and -- better than you ever thought there were.
