Hello people time for your fox slash on this Monday morning I'm Steve Doocy and let's talk about this New Jersey a state devastated by hurricane sandy but now is residents feel -- damaged homes power outages and gas rationing.

They're starting to rebuild and they need some help one person who is leading that charge.

Is the first lady of New Jersey.

Mary pat -- We talked to her on FOX & Friends about the effort to collect donations for sandy victims.

Some people were getting together and they were talking about.

You know what we we probably should send some coats out or so warm clothes because it is in the twenties and thirties this week in New Jersey.

Well there's lots of people that are doing that in people except you know examinations as well at 1800 -- and then.

But what we're trying to do -- sandy and is ask people for their money asked to go to our website and donate because after the electricity turned on.

Red Cross is doing an amazing job goes home these people are going to have gaps in their funding cut.

FEMA and insurance companies to rebuild their homes we want to be there for the long run for the next.

Two years actually helped build communities and rebuild homes.

So what's interesting Mary pat because obviously -- your -- extra charge right away we've seen so much of that the governor out there he was with.

The president and there's been a lot of attention on the devastation in New Jersey.

Some people who live in New York feel like they haven't made the same -- -- devastation that haven't had the same attention do you have any idea why.

Yeah I think that New Jersey just is an incredibly.

Great spirit about it we got people from all over the country come to help plus what -- lineup on this again.

It's really remarkable and I think then governor.
