Many of the homes and businesses here -- waist deep in water -- from watching residents.

Kerry there ruined possessions out to the street along with -- household garbage and rotting food and other debris and it's just too much for the sanitation trucks to handle but despite.

And power many of the thousands of residents here are reluctant to leave so there.

Lining -- to get relief from from a local release that are here they don't want to move and it shelters they don't want their possessions looted.

So they're gathering whatever food and water and diapers are being handed out and signing up for assistance from FEMA.

Well you know some residents here are slowly getting their power back of course the situation is slowly improving across the region.
