Well Ohio is one of the few states in the nation that's experiencing an economic recovery.

President Obama is going to be taking credit for that as he campaigns here the next three days.

My next guest says the praise ought to go to somebody a lot closer to home with me now is Ohio lieutenant governor Mary Taylor.

Governor -- to have you here.

The unemployment rate in Ohio was 9% it is dropped two points to 7%.

One of the few places in the country.

Where that has happened.

Why is that happened.

We're making Ohio jobs and friendly -- -- friendly again business friendly again.

We balanced our budget -- close -- eight billion dollar budget hole we did it without raising taxes in fact we cut taxes.

-- -- businesses across the country and in Ohio understand that we are open for business and we are creating economic environment where they can be successful.

The president's been here though and he said it all over the country that Ohio is one of those states that prove that his economic policies are working.

How do you respond to the president when he makes those claims whether it's here when he's out talking about Ohio the rest of the country.

-- I -- -- it's actually just the opposite they're not working they're actually hurting we could we could potentially be doing better if we had a real partner in Washington who understood.

What it what it takes for the private sector to create jobs.

-- through our effort CSI -- common sense initiative careers were over reforming our regulations.

While at the same time the federal government is is pushing more regulations on us obamacare and the effect that's going to have.

Not only on government spending 940 million more tax dollars will be spent on Medicaid after it's implemented.

But the impact is going to have on our small businesses across the state of Ohio -- I loved the initiative called CSI common sense initiative.

And it not only because it's a clever name.

-- certainly trendy but but what I loved about it was that it just says we're gonna assembled some of the top business people and our state across the country and asked them.

If you could -- government policy that would cause you to create jobs what is -- going to be.

It's like a jobs council that actually -- unlike the president's so what did they tell you specifically.

Would help them create jobs in Ohio Chris obviously if his work.

Well and we have been meeting so thank you for mentioning that -- I've traveled around the statement and a all of -- many many small business -- round tables talking to small businesses all over the state.

We have a small Business Advisory Council that regularly -- and essentially what they're telling us says.

Lower taxes a certain act on and regulatory environments understanding that your government's being financially responsible.

After we balanced our budget our credit outlook was upgraded that's important to a business -- making a decision to invest a lot of money.

-- in choosing which state they're going to do that and certainty understanding what the environment that they're going to be operating what what's it going to look like.

Governor the I just big claim of the Obama administration has been at his saving and rescuing the other automobile industry.

Is one of the key reasons that Ohio is doing better.

I saw some numbers that didn't quite match set up so what what is their true story about how many of these jobs are auto related jobs.

Well let's get to the numbers we've created over a 1121000.

Jobs just since we took office just in Ohio just in Ohio since we took office of that 1121400.

Of those jobs could be associated with the auto bail -- 400 yet.

Out of a 1121000.

To yes and if you look at where we're growing.

Where we have a diverse economy and were focusing on making a highlight the first economy.

IT technical.

I'm food production food manufacturing.

I'm medical we're growing in many different industry segments and I think that's what's partly contributed to -- house access.

Well it is a fascinating story and I think you and the governor Casey deserve a lot of credit for so I'm gonna give it to you whether the president does or not too because I can do that.
