Welcome back everyone well no matter who wins today's election thousands of jobs in the state of Virginia are at risk in 2013.
Because under sequestration.
Automatic cuts to defense spending will go into effect on January 2.
And of course Virginia's home to thousands of defense jobs being so close to Washington DC.
That's Smart -- -- -- governor -- now morning.
-- -- -- -- So it's interesting because the administration was successful.
In stopping these pink slips to go out to some of these workers right because it -- happened right before the election.
It was will be subsequent search of defense cuts are.
A really devastating to to Virginia into the military -- that's secretary Panetta's own.
Dramatic -- a trillion dollars of defense cuts over ten years.
At a time of war just the wrong policy aggression for us economically it's over 207000.
Jobs more than any other stated in Northern Virginia and then Hampton roads.
That's a tremendous.
Hit the president's been a bystander honestly for a year -- could have helped -- stop please have a more balanced approach to spending cuts which we need.
But he's failed to do that and then to say at -- -- wealth well you don't send out your pink slips warning people.
Under the law will pay your legal fees I think was really really.
Atrocious policy that he set in place so.
The folks I think are on notice that I think they'll be casting their votes accordingly and I think governor Romney's the only ones that all reverse these and build a navy back opted not have a more balanced approach to cuts.
So let's take a look at how those numbers break down that you alluded to in your state of Virginia.
Defense jobs would be affected 71380.
Non defense jobs for the total job loss -- Of over 200000.
It was interesting because in one of the debates the president said that he was gonna get rid of the sequestration was -- news to you.
Yeah I think he misspoke and his handlers came out immediately started to walk that.
-- this was the budget deal last August to avert the shutdown of the federal government a brawler.
A global crisis or what they're great deal but nobody thought it was going to be a policy aggression was it's going to be a hammer.
To get a deal done and and -- the presence has failed failed to lead on this end.
To come up with an -- the way the House of Representatives passed a bill to avert this in May it Harry Reid won't even take up the bill the president won't address that so.
I think it's something that defense related voters ought to be concerned about.
And and vote vote accordingly so the president's got no instead of doing that if if you really -- -- -- -- have done it already.
Interesting okay I know that that you have some say about the gubernatorial races around the country so let's take a look at North Carolina.
A Pat McCrory Republican verses Walter Dayton the Democrat party sees them going -- Well I think Pat McCrory is gonna win overwhelmingly former mayor of Charlotte great business guy.
He's been up by ten to fifteen over the last couple -- he'll be the first Republican governor it's 44 years of North Carolina and so from Virginia to Florida will be Republican governors.
And then we're very excited about three other races New Hampshire Montana.
And Washington State all margin of error were up by three points and Washington State where we haven't had a Republican governor 28 years.
So I think we could win anywhere from two to four races tonight.
-- -- -- -- to -- the highest number Republican governors in ninety years in America and they'll be great partners with Mitt Romney on jobs and spending cuts so.
I think it's going to be a big day for -- Republican governors.
Restore federalism and help -- -- govern this country better mark.
Okay I'm good to see you -- governor Bob McDonnell -- Virginia okay.
He hurt his pick he thinks Mitt Romney's gonna win.
