So -- the polls just opening up both campaigns are making a last minute pitch to voters.
On FOX & Friends this morning senior Obama advisor Robert Gibbs offering a reminder of what his team sees as the source of many.
Of the nation's problems.
We inherited a tremendous mess.
We inherited 800000 jobs lost in a month the very first month the president got the jobs report.
It.
Every one of those statistics has gotten better in the past couple years because look we fell into huge and massive.
Hole in this economy are we where we wanna be -- we've got more work to do because the whole that we are digging out the economic devastation.
They greeted this president when he walked into the Oval Office was deep and widespread.
Man.
So prevalent house is the communications director for the Democratic National Committee Brad good morning.
On this Election Day -- -- -- today happy Election Day do you and welcome.
You know they can't -- that sounds like a sound like that could've been from three years ago and I got to tell you laugh at me is the feeling within the Obama campaign still.
That one of the strongest campaign points would be to point out how deep the hole was four years ago.
Well look it's not just about how deep the hole was this about where we've come -- mean I think a stronger point is.
Is it over the past 32 months we've created five and a half million private sector jobs.
That's more private sector jobs were created in the entire.
Entire Bush Administration so clearly our record compares.
Well over the past couple of years to what we did -- -- I don't think it's.
Wrong to let people know who where -- where we've come from in fact that's what you do in elections.
But the more important question that we're we're going and shortly where we where we want to go is not where we where we were.
When we did come and -- yeah.
I mean that is one of the big questions and you hear.
Governor -- out on the campaign trail in his argument.
That we haven't made enough progress he's -- which are gonna get the next four years as more of the same in the stimulus that did not work.
The economic plans that did not work and job creation that has not been what he says it could be if he gets to take over.
Well I am I mean look that's governor Romney's argument that statistics are are are a bit different than that I mean we have created five and a half million jobs over the past 32 months we've had.
Consistent economic growth is not fast enough but you know the last three months of the Bush Administration was nearly.
A loss of 10% of economic productivity and we've.
-- -- economic growth every quarter for the past for the past two years so look we're headed in the right direction no one is satisfied the president thought his work was done he wouldn't be right every election he's running because there's more to do.
-- let me ask you about this quote from David Axelrod he says we're not throwing hail Mary is in states that we're never gonna win to try to get two to seventy.
That's the difference between the campaigns and I was really interesting because it in some ways is an acknowledged -- You know governor Ronnie got so much heat for that 47% comment.
That he made to his supporters but he was saying you know what there are some states out there and there are some people out there that we're just -- -- -- to persuade.
Isn't David Axelrod in that statement saying exactly the same thank.
No I don't think so -- all and I think what he was saying is is that you know -- what he was referring to I think was Pennsylvania.
Where governor Romney is trying to make a late play because he's really.
You know his hope is basically lost in the state like.
Ohio where he's been behind and -- like twenty of the last.
121 public polls so I think what he's talking about is is we're not make -- hail Mary for first day today that we there there is this going to be hard to win here.
At the end and that's what we think is going on Pennsylvania on the Romney side.
-- -- fascinating night Brent thank you so much weight -- Gina thank Marvin for coming and thorough.
