Now over to chief White House correspondent Ed Henry in Chicago ahead.

Good evening -- last night the Obama camp was predicting a blowout in their favor tonight I just got off the phone.

While President Obama tried to display calm and confidence today I expect that we'll have a good night.

It was clear last night the magnitude of the moment has finally said in as he waits to find out whether he'll secure his place in history as a transformational president.

Democrats today -- Vice President Biden to Cleveland as democratic officials mocked Republican Mitt Romney's last minute visits to Ohio and Pennsylvania.

We're not make it hail Mary for first -- that we that this is going to be hard to win here.

At the end and that's what we think it's one on Pennsylvania on the Romney side.

While the president spent the afternoon continuing his lucky tradition of playing basketball with friends on Election Day.

Local media report the athletic facility was foreclosed upon last month maybe not such a good moment I hope that everybody is just.

Knocking on doors earlier he worked the phones at a Chicago campaign office to thank some volunteers in neighboring Wisconsin and was -- again as he offered some warm words to his opponent.

The man he's been charging cannot be trusted.

To governor Romney congratulations on a spirited campaign.

I know that his supporters are just -- engaged and just so enthusiastic and working just as hard today.

Now after school today the president's daughters flew -- Chicago with their grandmother the kind of family dinner at the president's private home as they wonder and wait I'm told by one senior advisor they're expecting inside the Obama camp will be waiting for Florida results -- something like 2 AM.
