-- -- the after the show show up post election President Obama and me gains and another four years and we are joined by doctor Larry Stabenow.

Out of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville who called this correctly.

With his crystal ball two days ago you had.

You've never been wrong Jennifer and presidential race correct.

Well not yet but you know I -- I lived here a few more and you know all Steve's already betting me about 2016.

-- -- -- -- Suddenly.

-- -- suddenly Marco Rubio looks pretty good.

Suddenly Chris Chris big lie I don't know after the storm embrace of of the president how does Chris Christie look now.

Well -- he's got a lot of us.

Lane and to do with -- 21 with the Republican.

Voters you know they're they're pretty unhappy.

If the Romney the superstructure is any indication.

There's going to be some blow back to Governor Christie.

For being so effusive in his praise the president a bomb at a critical moment in the last week.

But look to your question about Marco Rubio you're absolutely on point.

Look at the exit polls last night.

The white vote fell further from the 74 to 72%.

Minorities now 28%.

I suspect this was the last all white Republican ticket.

And that your ears -- terrorists.

Can't know but I I really do believe it and Marco Rubio.

Look at what to has to be done for the Republicans they have got to appeal to Hispanics and Latinos to a much greater degree and women Obama's support actually went -- into Hispanics and Latinos I didn't think it could go any higher I was looking at the exit polls.

Mitt Romney lost Hispanics by 40%.

Asians by 50%.

An African Americans by 80%.

The Republican Party Larry.

On this as -- -- some Wednesday morning quarterbacking Republican Party has got to make some changes.

Well let -- and stayed I assume that that's obvious.

Republicans although I've got to tell yeah I'm getting tweets and emails to the contrary -- they weren't conservative enough -- they have to double down on some of these things.

Look they can do whatever they want here is nothing in the constitution or laws says -- party -- to win.

If they would like to continue to lose change nothing.

There wasn't -- a sub audio it Heidi you recommend.

That the Republican Party -- lessons because you do have that Tea Party element.

And those people are gonna be more in -- today.

Then they were yesterday so they're gonna want the Republican candidate to -- they're gonna -- that Mitt Romney was you know too much of a moderate which is what we heard for the last year and a half.

So how do you -- says that -- that whole part of the Republican Party the moderates the conservatives.

Well in the end you have to depend on the good hard common sense of most people.

That when presented with the facts when they when they have a chance to let the emotions of the moment -- down.

And they actually look at the exit polls and they they listen to the analysis that they will understand.

What needs to be done because politics.

Is for the practical.

It is the most practical profession.

And in fact if you look at something that the Republicans to do with me they could do something that don't like George W.

Bush tried to do.

With the with a guest worker program he tried to -- -- address the millions of people in this country.

Without documentation so that they can be part of the Republican Party instead.

You know.

Than the fact that Mitt Romney during the primary.

Wound up going to the right of Rick Perry that did not help.

Mitt Romney in the general election.

That.

What's the single greatest mistake that Romney made and by the way he knows it and is -- people know what they wish they can take that back he can't.

But Steve you're 100%.

Correct.

Listen.

Republicans need to go to Marco Rubio is playing in his alternative to president Obama's DREAM Act.

Republicans are gonna have to embrace something like that castor oil sometimes is good for you it is.

In other words here you're if you're along the lines of -- the moderate side of the Republican Party has to prevail.

Well absolutely and for those who think otherwise again and that you're welcome to pursue your.

Your beliefs and principles that's your right is an American but.

I think you have to be prepared to lose again and again that's right because the hardliners where they gonna -- they're always you know the people at the on the wings are always gonna coalesce to some measure around their candidate.

And as we saw for the exit polls the big chunk of real estate.

Are the moderates and the independents.

Absolutely and look young people did move in a Republican direction as we were saying all year they moved six points and a Republican direction.

They were 66%.

For Obama in 2008.

They were 60% for Obama last night.

Their numbers -- they went from seventeen to 18% of the electorate the eighteen to 29 year -- What are -- they -- fiscal conservatives they really are I teach them.

I know -- fiscal conservative but they're also social libertarians and Republicans also have to think about some of those social issues.

They are repelling young people they repelling suburban women out there repelling some minorities -- that you have to deal with reality.

You do and that's why you have so many independents now.

Because at least this is my personal opinion that you you you have you have forced people out of the party to become independents.

Primarily because of a lot of those social issues and then in the end -- -- end up voting for Democrats because you you know.

When you're not in a recession sometimes a social issues prevent.

A Gretchen they are too many Republicans.

Who look at someone who might be -- Republican and I immediately find six reasons why they don't want them in the tent and as opposed to finding six reasons why they should be in the tent.

You know if you if you -- -- we exclude people you're going to lose if you find ways to include people.

Including for compromise.

You will be you will win more than your share of elections absolutely it's.

We wake up call for the Republican Party.

Hey doctors have -- to thank you very much his last night while I was watching the fox coverage I had my my hand held device and I was.

You were tweeting from your house too many houses across American I was reading your innermost thoughts.

They were beautiful it's scary isn't -- and it's it's frightening those that are -- -- -- if I don't I don't go any deeper than that that's the really awful -- well -- -- -- I want -- you on Twitter what's your what's your handle area.

Well it's a creative handle it's -- -- but at.

Well it works it and it crystal ball also was accurate this time around we love -- -- -- I'm sure even -- election's over we'll see you again very soon.

I look forward to it it's been a lot of fun over the last couple years with you you have been terrific no -- go home and taken out right.

I'm going to look at the leaders -- thanks a lot -- -- care all right.
