It is there's some good news for Wisconsin Republicans now despite Wisconsin voters elected a Democrat to the United States senate and -- Obama winning in that battleground state there is still some Wisconsin Republicans celebration.

Why well they won back full control of the state government Republicans winning majorities of -- both the state senate and the assembly.

So what is ahead Wisconsin governor Scott -- -- good evening governor.

Good to do it yet.

Other so what happened to your state did didn't go for your Canada for -- present -- -- our governor Romney rather.

It didn't stay wide -- was a close election like it was many other battleground states but didn't pull out both the United States senate race.

No we're Tommy Thompson -- a little bit short to Mitt Romney and car -- bit short but as you mentioned that was a big night for assist the state level.

But when it comes to -- government we went from having.

Lost the majority by one seat back in the recall elections we defended through the -- but that one -- we lost back in June.

Was the one seat to switch the majority to the Democrats last night we picked up not just one more seat to get back get.

We're actually picked up two seats in the state assembly were you had a majority and actually added to it so it and I did didn't fare well statewide when -- -- -- federal offices.

We did extremely well when it came back to the state senate the state assembly and that means we can continue to build off the reforms we did and look forward to things like cutting taxes for small businesses and individuals doing more things to streamline the process for safe -- -- -- -- mining and doing more things to reform -- education system and -- young people the skills they need for the jobs are open today so.

Those are things if there were excited about.

Reconcile -- because it's it's a little bit peculiar that that day you also do you take over this the state -- and those are the ones at that took off and that's.

They have high tailed off -- Illinois have -- year and a half ago I mean so it's not now that now you Republican senate you had a Republican assembly you're Republican governor.

Yet statewide.

That they vote for -- a Democrat to have this vote for president Bob I think -- by seven points innings of pretty sizable margin not the fourteen he had no -- but nonetheless seven points.

And we have -- very and you voted democratic US senator gives a former Republican governor how do you reconcile -- -- You know it's odd but it's a very midwestern -- certainly very specific to Wisconsin as you know in the sense that.

People are very independent here and they like to -- the person -- very much what the person over just the party.

-- and they want reformers in -- for whatever reason they thought the federal elections at least statewide.

They thought these two candidates in the democrats' side were the ones that stood -- -- got their attention although it's intrastate.

Even a federal office at this the state urgently at the local level we had to congressional seat Sean Duffy in northwest to discuss and reach remote northeast Wisconsin.

Two people that won two years ago in in one case in a seat that was held by Dave -- since 1969.

Everyone thought those receipts and Nancy clothes he was targeting to get the majority back.

Both of the win by solid majorities last night so I'm very independent streak in Wisconsin it's one work.

For us to continue to stay on top -- at least as Republicans we're gonna continue to have to be strong reformers.

And as those add to the sort of the and you don't nature of it is that that -- -- -- and it was.

Reid reelected this congressional seat.

But about ten or eleven point tenor eleven points sizable majority in a very democratic district that he is enemy that's even unusual that a Republican would be elected.

Yet statewide.

He was not able to to persuade the people to go up on the Romney -- Ryan ticket.

-- five of the eight congressional districts including Paul's would solidly Republican last night.

Only three way Democrats can get statewide.

Democrat -- the United States -- -- the president was reelected.

Yet -- -- the last time.

The Republican won a Wisconsin it was close in 2002004.

But the last a Republican won was.

1984.

Would -- -- regular course won reelection.

In fact the last night my youngest son is now literally older that I was the last time -- Republican ones in the state it was stats and so we'll see about the future but it get it's one of those where.

We're very very independent in the midwest it's certainly true Wisconsin and you know Beatrice to -- the I have actually supported Mitt Romney Paul Ryan but the other interesting aside from this is.

I said long before the presidential election is important is it was.

That state state by state was gonna make the difference and now we're up to thirty Republican governors the most we've had a dozen years and that's where the real fundamental change is gonna happen in America were willing to work with the president.

But we're gonna lead by the states and it's one where we can work together -- Democrats and our states to get things done.

Hope the president can do the same thing in Washington.

What now looks like you -- -- that the work that Republicans because you've got the assembly and the senate and I'm curious -- -- Nationalists saw this the other -- was in Wisconsin when another capitalist being storm by a lot of unhappy that citizens.

And and then they had to recall you won by six points more than when you're elected earlier for governor.

I'm curious do you have any specific plan because now I've got -- thus the assembly and the senate.

Well audio for us it'll help certainly go to the budget process to remember even -- that last year before.

All the protest the first month I was in office we passed some of the most aggressive pro jobs agenda in the country.

In most of the Democrats who is a good majority.

Of the the Democrats.

In the status it would state senate joined with Republicans and many of those bills.

The end I think a lot of these saying we're talking about make it easier for small business we're talking about getting more skilled workers out there those are things -- Democrats -- -- Republicans.

But certainly got a -- majority of players who will be ready to go for the taxpayers here was -- -- talk to your friend add -- -- and since then returns last night.

No I I text him I figured I'd let him previously been a little bit relax.

Certainly I think he's -- to be ready go you know Paul.

So when asked me last night about to set the results came -- and I said sometimes in presidential elections the VP candidate gets beat up a little bit -- a little bit.

I think it and I ice is not just is a good friend -- -- as a fellow -- that.

But I think in the end Paul Ryan was stronger after this race -- before that I think people saw.

The good decent soul that he is they saw the Kurds they had.

And I think it grew on people more than it did the other way around so I think no matter what -- all right what's new he's gonna continue to be a leader here in America -- -- proud to have mr.

Phillips she's had.

Yeah thank you -- Thank you.
