Obama -- it is here to stay what do you need to know about how health care will change for you.

Doctor -- Fox's medical late team -- associate professor of medicine and might use one -- Medical center how you doing good docking good morning to you we got some pros and cons here here's a couple -- advantages.

Covers preexisting conditions.

There are no lifetime limits and there are no co pays for permit preventative care you cool with all that well.

And away pre existing conditions have been covered in New York State since the 1990s but of course the downside of that and -- for that is that it usually leads to increasing premiums.

Now in terms of the co pays on preventive services.

I'm not sure that's expensive too and I'm not sure that I can convince myself that my patients wouldn't go for those tests anyway I think the reason people don't go for mammograms and -- -- to -- isn't because they have to pay a -- -- -- just reluctant.

So I have an issue with that.

No lifetime limits -- like that to I don't think that people should lose their coverage because they've used their insurance too much.

-- bill another problem is that people are over using their insurance for sure I see too many patients that aren't really sick and someone's got to foot the bill for that.

-- -- also this sort of as a fraud component to this -- let me say that for another day disadvantages.

You -- higher premiums.

There will be new taxes.

And our people necessarily.

Satisfied with their doctors.

Well bill first of -- there's definitely going to be higher premiums -- mentioned that when -- -- state I mentioned that with -- overuse of the insurance -- mentioned that with less co pays and deductibles and it's not just what I said about preventive services the -- definitely is gonna push down deductibles and co -- I would rather see patients pay.

Out of pocket if they're not that sick because then they can get.

A lower premium taxes there's an incredible number of taxes build into this law that our viewers may not -- -- -- -- There's a Medicare tax is obviously the penalty or attacks if you don't buy insurance also one inch on small ball on large businesses who may decide not to cover you want to remember -- been a penalty.

What what's all that -- now that's gonna cost.

And probably in many billions if not trillions of dollars and -- this is what the issue with obamacare is it's really let's let's tax people in order to be able to pay for -- I think the idea of covering thirty million more people.

With health insurance is a good one but I wanna know what kind of insurance this insurance is too easy -- overused and no one looked at the other issue which is doctor dissatisfaction.

Doctors aren't being paid enough we have too few doctors we have a doctor shortage we're going to be replaced largely by nurse practitioners and physician's assistant.

Or quite good but they don't have the same training I do.

People are gonna end up having to get their care more and more from large groups and hospitals and who can actually handle the hot online I've heard -- I've heard you talk in the past about that will.

-- hand you also argue that -- Well into their seventies.

Or at least their sixties.

Though there's been a lot of -- out that doctors are more and more considering early retirement considering decrease in the number of patients they see.

The considering playing ball -- with -- insurance and if you have an insurance expansion -- -- doctors not taken insurance and that insurance doesn't help you.

And I also think that there's going to be less and -- of incentive for people to go to medical school statistics are starting to show that.

But look.

I love medicine I love practicing there's plenty of people out there like me but the government cannot count -- there's another thing here component -- this these health exchanges that are set up in the states.

From what I understand there -- thirty states that have not moved forward on this just yet.

Don't look at what does that do this is a big headlines is next week they've got to pony up they're gonna tell agents asked next week whether they're gonna set up exchanges if they don't set -- -- state exchange.

It means the -- will do it for them HHS insists that you'll still get your Stipe and if you can afford insurance even if they set up.

The exchange because if they don't stay -- and if -- state debt.

You know uniformity in the state doesn't move for the federal government comes in and does it for them listen I've got to run but there's so much more to talk about the Smart.

So so we're gonna bring him back in the next question I have for you if you're my doctor and I like you do I get to keep you.

And the answer is maybe yes maybe no based on what I'm hearing from you can thank you see exactly -- Mark Siegel with us today to -- mark.
