Certainly one of the big stories over the last few weeks and this Fox News weather alert the East Coast going another rounds.

With mother nature a powerful nor'easter slamming the area with heavy winds and rain and record snowfall quite frankly especially for this time of the year as it.

As really this whole area is trying to recover from super -- -- and that recovery is gonna take months if not years.

Long Island hit especially hard in both storms many people waking up in the dark once again.

After just getting power back on from -- that many people still don't have power we should mention.

I -- -- -- is -- -- he's city manager of Long Beach, New York big commuter town I think the city in Manhattan in one particularly hit hard.

By super storm -- Jack how much of an impact is this snowstorm on top of everything else here you're having to deal what.

I get -- -- we kept faith.

Huge punch from superstar -- last week in -- really knocked out our critical infrastructure.

And our water our secure and our power.

And now this week you know an unprecedented.

-- and almost restored clean drinking water just waiting period for approval from the county there were tested through the roof and in terms of how clean we are and power being restored but with this snowstorm last night.

And some of the areas that had been restored power have begun to lose it to we're just wondering you know between the super storm and the snowstorm.

What look what it next week look like if I -- it if the locust the media and the -- to come and we -- -- out.

I'm sure you -- -- -- though -- strayed off the like your sewage system back and abided by yeah let me get to two weeks into this.

This whole ordeal are you getting the help -- need.

We are you know I have to say we have gotten an unprecedented level of cooperation and support.

From all levels of government here from our county executive and the governor and everybody here we have hundreds.

First responders here on the ground.

From all over the country and we are so grateful for whether they be FEMA -- the national incident management organization these are the critical folks.

And the state police and the National Guard these folks have been critical.

To pouring in phenomenal resources.

To help our residents get back up and running again and we're so appreciative of it.

That's good news but they certainly can't get you -- A night of good sleep right Jack -- -- of all things that.

I'd that you're doing that you were just telling me during the commercial break eighteen days straight out -- working really around the clock.

Also for your police the firefighters are all the civil workers that are certainly working nonstop how they get back.

-- an obstacle is fatigue right now.

It's significant you know our our first responders have been incredible our police our fire and our our public works folks have been.

Working around the clock and then last night doubling their efforts to plow the roads in the midst of the recovery effort.

-- our folks are tired.

There is there a little worn but they've been doing just such a phenomenal job and thankfully.

We're now be able to supplement them with that with assistance from upper left other levels of government as well Jack how can folks help.

You know that the number one thing we need right now.

They've lost a lot of what they have so we're taking financial donations.
