Like kids -- Democrats have a lot to work on the next two were four years.
-- the next two or four weeks house speaker John Boehner says he's ready to work with the president to solve the nation's biggest problems facing us now this.
On the most reasonable responsible person -- Washington.
The president knows he knows that he and I can work together.
The election's over stuff to get to work.
Justices ever Mike Huckabee now governor how you do and host -- Huckabee weekends here on the Fox News Channel I haven't heard your comment since the election itself.
It's an honor to have you back here now know what's going on here you know you know -- debaters a deal -- He he says on them on the easiest guy in the world to get along.
Well John Boehner as well as Mitch McConnell are both professionals when it comes to understanding the art of the deal.
Frankly Republicans are being well served by both these guys in this particular moment.
We didn't win the elections didn't get the senate.
We have to accept the hand that's been dealt to us and if this -- a poker table you got to understand that you don't get to take something off the table unless you put something on the table.
Unless you've got to gone.
Well we don't have a gun.
We didn't get that in the election so what we've got to understand and I am hoping that members of congress will follow the leader.
And members of the senate will follow their leader because you can't have.
Every Republican member of congress and every Republican member of the senate trying to create a side deal that's disaster in the making.
That they're not gonna get everything they want they need to get everything they can and mainly protect the American people.
More than protect any particular party ideology when they're trying to.
Keep us from falling off the cliff because Republicans can't afford to blame for that.
-- you know it's an interesting point but speaker Boehner seems to be speaking the same way Mitch McConnell speaks.
And here's what senator McConnell says -- -- some people out there think Tuesday's results mean that.
Republicans in Washington are now going to roll over and -- to democratic demands that we -- tax rates before the end of the year I'm here to tell them there is no truth.
To that notion whatsoever.
Well what he didn't say it was that he would not be willing to put some form of revenue on -- Boehner has said the same thing.
I don't want to raise tax rates they are willing to -- loopholes they're willing to close gaps.
It's not that they are saying there can't be any new revenues.
But what they want to protect is that it just comes in the form of an arbitrary rate increased.
Which could be and frankly would be counterproductive.
To business people who -- already hemorrhaging and who regardless of the fiscal cliff.
Are gonna have some huge costs associated obamacare.
So that's what they have to go and or should -- be clear that what you're saying is that.
You're not necessarily -- lose over on the issue you can win on the issue.
If you reform the tax code to get Democrats to go along with that but I'm not quite sure we've heard that tone from the White House at all.
Well we may not have up until now but the president doesn't want this to happen anymore than Republicans should want this to happen.
And most of all the American people can't afford to you have the numbers up earlier this hour.
It showed that everybody takes a gut punch.
If the fiscal cliff and in fact happens and we're all aboard the vehicle.
So I think it's incumbent upon the president to show the leadership that he hasn't shown.
I one think that the executive has to do whether it's the mayor the governor the president.
He has to take the leadership role in and convene the meeting.
And to sort of say here are the parameters.
And then the members of the legislature.
Have to decide what they're willing -- -- in order to get what there -- wanting to get.
But let's just be clear bill.
Republicans aren't -- -- get everything they want they can't they don't own the whole game they -- one of three pieces of this.
And it's a tough piece and the president has frankly the biggest hand starting this poker game.
You're very good on its own use that you're very -- -- reading an audience in reaction to that audience.
We're gonna see the president three hours four hours from now.
What is his tone today I hope it's one of humility one.
Gratitude that he's been reelected.
But while also recognizing that he was not reelected with sixty years 65% of the vote it was a squeaker.
And even though the Electoral College margin was significant.
The popular vote was -- and what he has to understand he's leading a very divided country with very passionate people.
And he has to be ready to lead the entire country and not just the people who voted for it is incumbent upon a leader when he wins I think.
To be Morton magnanimous then when he loses.
-- the toughest job.
Is to be a good winner.
And we're gonna find out whether the president can be a good winner is that your expectation.
But it's my hope I don't know what to expect I haven't seen it in the past four years but I'm hoping that maybe this election.
Served up a good dose of reality and that he wants suspend his second term governing.
Not just campaigning for that second term governor thank you thank you bill.
-- Mike Huckabee right here on the Fox News Channel airs Saturday and Sunday night 8 o'clock eastern time terrific program there Mike.
