Can you think about briefly about the attack and they got me.
Is that appropriate -- We are in a stronger position today than we were four years it just the Obama administration have a problem calling the threat -- me.
The suggestion that anybody in my case.
We're like politics or mislead its offensive.
If you protected -- Special report investigates.
Death and deceit did -- Gaza.
From Washington DC here is -- -- it.
Looked like this election was all about the economy.
But that changed when terrorists murdered for Americans at the United States consulate in Benghazi Libya on the anniversary of 9/11.
Americans had questions.
Who did this and how.
Should our government have seen it coming.
Did President Obama tried to hide the truth.
Is this a huge scandal that exposes a failed Obama foreign policy.
Or is Mitt Romney just -- it is.
Tonight we'll try to give you answers will walk you step by step through the terror that unfolded that day.
And we'll break down the political maneuvering that's followed.
But we begin with a series of frightening developments and troubling decisions leading up to that horrific night -- bad guys.
It's a story you haven't hurt.
Told by a man who tried to prevent.
What happened on September 11 twenty to a.
Did you have a close relationship investors do.
I -- to work with them or about two months when he came on her -- No one understands more than lieutenant colonel Andrew wood the full extent of the fiasco that kills -- He worked closely with Stevens for six months in Libya before his violent death.
A 24 year US special forces veteran towards job was to try to prevent such an attack from a current.
Sinus infection -- had.
That was my first reaction when I heard the best -- -- the kill.
Why have you come forward was -- the -- of everything was going on there so it meant information needs to come forward.
We begin our story however in the winter of 2011.
A year before would arrives in Libya.
Colonel Moammar Qaddafi is still in power in Tripoli.
But rebels protected by US air power are gaining control over much of Libya.
The US State Department which -- all it's personnel from the capital.
But six weeks later.
April 5 2011.
It send Stevens with a twelve man team by charter boat to Ben Ghazi.
Now under rebel control.
As special representative to the rebels Stephen set up shop in the -- ST hotel.
June 1 2011.
A car bomb explodes in the parking lot in front of that hotel.
Stevens and his team decide it's too dangerous to stay there.
In August Stephens in his team settle on -- compound on the west side of the city.
It was rented from from an owner who had a nice -- -- there and several other -- buildings as well but not a lot of security like any residents depend on the fortress.
Do you -- -- the walls are four buildings one is essentially a large residence with a number of bedrooms and another residence as a cantina where the staff Eads just across the way is what they call their tactical operations center.
Filled with offices for security staff bones and security monitors.
Finally the barracks -- small house by the main gate of the compound.
It will house a Libyan security forums.
Certainly in October 20 2011.
Colonel Qaddafi is captured and killed by rebels in his hometown.
Revolutions and wars going to end the killing goes on -- -- for being felt so.
Sometimes divert revenge killings.
He's going back and forth for those who still fighting going on.
With Qaddafi gone ambassador Stephens will spend much of his time at the main US embassy building in Tripoli.
But he'll come to Ben Ghazi often the State Department upgrades of physical security at that property.
We extended the height of the outer wall shortly inland of the state departs and -- concrete barbed wire and concertina razor wire.
Finally inside the large residence a fortified safe haven is built.
You entered through a heavy metal grill with several locks on -- that is safe havens.
Are among those.
Arsenal or you're just two billion -- so basically you're gonna get inside and it's a delay.
Until you can get some relief.
To get out of there.
Security on the compound consists of five diplomatic security special agents.
And four members of the Libyan government security force called the 17 February brigade.
Former UN ambassador John Bolton.
-- it is the responsibility.
Of host governments to provide for security for all diplomatic establishments within their territory but from the US point of view we have to recognize that some countries are better able to do that than others and when you're -- a high threat environment.
We have to do what's necessary to protect our personnel on the ground.
There is more security at what's called the annex a mile away.
Based in Tripoli but moving around the country is a Department of Defense -- security team February 12 2012.
Lieutenant colonel wood who joined the Utah on National Guard after his two plus decades in US special forces.
Arrives in Libya as the new commander of the SS TE.
It had sixteen members -- What exactly did failed.
-- -- security team with special operations soldiers.
That had extra skills and capabilities they can bring to the -- could a team that -- really make a difference.
The -- and individuals.
On that team more.
The best in the United States inventory.
And I can make a difference in any -- on the.
Is that -- heat is slated to ended store in Libya by summer's end and the security situation.
Is taking an ominous turn.
Spring of torn twelve there's an uptick in terror attacks and -- -- too I think the nature of things started changing one when I first got aground in with the -- lawlessness going back and forth as things.
The commotion fell down a little bit but the targeted -- him to pick up anything be targeting more toward western.
April 6 2012.
Obamas tossed over the wall of the -- Ghazi compact.
June 6 2012.
And -- ED is placed on the compounds north gate.
No one is injured in either incident.
That's not the case five days later.
June 11 22 -- a convoy transporting great Britain's ambassador -- Dominick ask -- is ambushed in Ben Ghazi.
He hasn't hurt but two of -- security aides off.
Clear that was it terrorist.
I actually conduct an investigation.
A couple of days afterwards -- the ground take photographs.
Examine the vehicle so they knew that there are doing and it was simpler assessment that -- -- -- with as I could see it.
Because if you have hysteria growing stronger and we -- the last thing on our target list.
In the past year there have been more than 230.
Security incidents in Libya it's what's apparent to war.
Is that terrorists are working on increasingly bigger plot.
I had seen instances occur prior to that -- what the other bombings.
You know I -- -- series of things going on that it has appeared to me that you're building toward you know.
An additional attacks.
That's why would and Eric Nordstrom the regional security officer.
Implored the State Department to keep woods SST force in Libya beyond its scheduled August departure.
We weren't we're requesting additional because we were requesting to keep the security that we had.
And that was being taken away so you want to keep your team.
On the ground.
-- the team that was in place Horry.
Him and let my team was only a small part there was and that's the State Department and that means that stands for mobile security detachment team.
A lot of those are.
And green berets ex Navy SEALs.
-- -- a fan vote there were three and and that's been canceling on the ground there.
August this point -- the State Department decides not to keep the SST in Libya and the MSD team is being reduced as well.
So who oppose the request.
-- -- He.
Denied those requests or ignore them more on -- Kristen felony cases.
Why is west why why why is that because he knew about all these other taxes taken place have been 1214.
We had Ben training local Libyans and arming them one almost regular edition reporting think this request to non.
I don't know.
I really don't know in the -- -- -- if if -- -- that was.
Those provided in my idea -- the State Department and then have to pay money that I can imagine why it is.
I can't comment like that that's part of what was trying to come on in congressional event.
Can -- when he -- just flat flabbergasted that you -- like what can we do we couldn't even people we had.
I think that what was motivating the State Department was that if we had security that would have truly been appropriate it would have been an admission.
That conditions on the ground in Libya were not safe and that would have.
Violated the world views that.
That this administration success you left -- August.
Less than a month before the attack on working.
How did you feel about the security situation -- I didn't like it.
-- as much and what concerns was that the -- -- doesn't.
September 10 2012.
Ambassador Chris Stevens arrives in -- Ghazi for a full day of meetings beginning the next morning.
His first trip there since -- security team left the country.
Going to a dangerous place them I -- yes but he knew it.
Didn't miss him now.
Because I think -- it's our mission came first.
September 11 when he twelve a mob gathers at the US embassy in Cairo Egypt -- scaled the walls and burns the American flag.
Is that they're angry over an obscure anti Islam video produced in California.
Meanwhile something else is going on in -- guns.
And about 5 PM eastern time the first reports about an attack come across the -- He won't be until morning however until America learns how serious that is.
We weren't there we just weren't there and if you war.
Could you protected investors did well Morgan clarified.
The very -- and winning.
When we return special report investigates is on the scene in Ben Ghazi.
What happened that night.
-- -- -- has the story of heroism.
Details are still coming out about what happened in Ben Ghazi on September 11.
It off camera briefings and congressional hearings special report has investigated -- well.
Great now -- took that information and went to -- Ghazi himself.
There he talked to eyewitnesses.
And scoured the abandoned compound for additional clues.
Now he pulls it all together and walks you through a timeline of terror.
You won't soon forget.
Morning the US ambassador to Libya Cris Stevens has a full day of meetings ahead of them.
But since the eleventh anniversary the al-Qaeda attacks he schedules all of them out of caution behind the perceived safety of the US mission walls in Ben -- 7:30 PM Stevens takes his last meeting in the large residence building with the Turkish consul general it -- after an hour.
8:30 PM Stephens escorts the diplomats the main gate -- make small talk in Arabic to the guards and returns and -- At this point outside the main gate -- the compound on the other side of the US mission Walt in this -- neighborhood all is quiet.
You -- storing of any protest.
No sign of the real -- -- -- one fold in fact the ambassador decides to turn in for the night.
9 PM still no sign of any kind of spontaneous demonstration.
Over that -- video.
A protest the Obama administration -- later suggest escalated into -- deadly Bryant.
Joining Stevens in the main residence building is information management officer Sean Smith and for diplomatic security special agents.
And other region is at the nearby tactical operations center -- these agents are armed with pistols.
940 PS amateur video apparently captures the first movement outside the compound.
The mad mob of attackers break through here the main gate a weak point in the defense of the mission.
When -- move on here today understaffed Libya militia barracks they stormed a place they tortured.
They light up embassy cars around us then.
They move on according to eyewitnesses the fighters are well on an organized flying the radical Islamist -- some with and accents.
The agent in the operations -- -- in monitor scores of men pouring into the compound.
A diplomatic security agent working in the tactical operations center.
Immediately activated the imminent danger notification system.

And so she can follow the events in real time he also alerted.
The quick reaction security team station nearby.
The Libyan 17 February but gave the embassy in Tripoli.
And the diplomatic security command center in Washington.
Back here in the main residence the special agent reportedly David -- Comes hearing gets ambassador Stevens.
From his bedroom and brings him along with Sean Smith to this room in the safe haven really -- -- some medicine and other supplies upbeat.
Dark windowless closet and then outside.

-- scrambling at the gunfire and explosions gathering up their machine guns body armor and ammunition from the other buildings.
Two of them had back to the main residence -- cut off -- -- -- group -- -- man they decide to go back and barricade themselves in.
At this point there are seven Americans at three different locations ambassador Stevens and two others in the main residence.
Two special agents at the second residence and cafeteria and then here and the tactical operation center -- more agents attackers.
One group penetrates the -- residence the attackers whoever don't get to the agents and the eventually leave.
Inside the main residence is a different story attackers coming here and they were ransacked the place.
And then they go for the locked -- they look inside it's dark they can't see any thing and then.
They tried a lot they can't open it up inside agent Logan has got a gun trained on them.
Ready to shoot if need be.
But as lieutenant colonel Andrew wood says the safe haven is only safe for a short time.
-- the delay for an aggressor.
But it has to rely on someone to come -- -- the rest in the -- That someone says might have been in his only -- security team but they've been pulled out of the country.
Either way Stephens Smith and open or trapped like diabolical killer to -- diesel fuel around the house like -- When we come back the trapped Americans tried desperately to -- Before the break Greg how god told you -- terrorists overran the US consulate compound in Ben Ghazi Libya.
A handful of Americans caught by surprise.
Pinned down in three different locations.
Three of those people including ambassador Chris Stevens have locked themselves in the so called safe haven constructed in one of those buildings.
The attackers can't break again.
So they've set the place of blades.
Once again from -- gosh here's Greg Palkot.
Around 10 PM.
The entire safe haven which takes up part of the forest floor of the main residence is black with thick smoke and US ambassador -- Sean Smith and David -- moved to a back up from within the safe area which has a window they try to open but it doesn't help.
There's just too much smoke they dropped to the floor trying to get there but even though there they can bring.
Settled -- safe -- and take their chances with the -- attackers were taken over the US golf.
Fighting heated smoke they find another window grill they -- -- this is the window that special.
Agent opened Jimmy's open and crawls out of the students -- do not crawl out.
After him and so even though -- can barely see early -- he goes back in fact he goes back in and out several times.
You can't find he is overcome with smoke.
Over the struggles of a small ladder to the roof of the building and collapses you -- -- the other regions.
Another US agent in full combat you emerges from the tactical operation center.
This smoke grenade to hide his movement he moved to the small residents can get the two weekends holed up there out.
The three and getting to a former vehicle parked nearby and drive a short distance to the -- residents.
Interns they fall into the residence on our hands of these feeling their way through the building to try to find -- -- Collins.
They funds meant it -- them out of the building.
Now remember the cracks -- security team is gone but there's -- small unit of security at the annex a mile away.
Six Americans and sixteen from the Libyan militia -- ride.
So -- around the the others -- is.
They're only able to find Stevens by eleven the Libyan forces say they can no longer hold the perimeter.
The American agents carrying Smith's body -- into an armored vehicle and exit the main gate.
They hit for the gimmicks about a mile away.
-- fire was upon those -- -- under their vehicle but it direct fire and include 47 about the way.
It's like to flat tires -- heavy damage to their vehicle they keep rolling.
Several blocks away they -- more traffic -- -- thing -- neighborhood the car careens over the middle divider pushes forward against opposing traffic.
Finally makes it to the -- and again hope for safety.
Sometime after midnight back at the mission looters entered the building and find the body of Stevens slumped on the floor.
They don't know who he is they -- -- out through a window is lyzard dazed he space smoke -- seemingly lifeless.
When someone says he's breathing the crowd is we eat and -- -- -- or god is great.
Around 1 AM ambassador Stevens has brought by car here to the -- got the medical center where doctors tried desperately to resuscitate him for some 45 minutes.
They fail he dies of some Beers fixation.
Back at the -- -- battle is on again.
Fighters hitting the place with AK 47 fire and rocket propelled grenades forcing those in the -- to retreat toward building further back.
-- compound sometime after 130 at the Benghazi airport a team of reinforcements -- -- from the US embassy in Tripoli.
They make their way to the -- According to reports.
Going into an ambush.
Around -- -- and the -- compound is hit by another wave of attacks it is described as.
Plan and -- around -- mortar fire targeting the roof of the building set well behind escaped.
That turned out to be dangerous and deadly.
Killed -- that attacked two security person now.
-- already 42 and Tyrone -- forty want both.
Former Navy SEALs.
Badly injured special agent -- it over the same man who struggled valiantly to save the lives of ambassador Stevens and information manager Smith.
The fighters are repelled.
Annex reportedly a base of operations for sensitive intelligence work -- militants in eastern Libya is secure.
-- decision is made to evacuate the whole enterprise.
30 AM September 12.
The second plane leaves with the remaining Americans on board and the bodies of ambassador Stephens Smith and agents Doherty and wounds.
Less than a month since the military -- security team left the country to the regret of its commander lieutenant colonel Andrew -- who says they would have made a difference.
It was a job of the assisting and protecting investors just from.
The start of the defendant company.
And -- -- targets until he can be expected.
Chris Stevens was the first US ambassador killed on duty in more than three decades.
September 11 2012.
Was a tragedy that will long be remembered.
Then the story moved back to Washington.
Was what followed the fog of war and attempted cover up or something else.
Special report investigates.
After the break.
The carnage in Ben Ghazi is over the story shifts to Washington.
He's chief White House correspondent and -- Since our -- The United States a nation that respects all -- We reject.
All efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others September 12.
In the Rose Garden President Obama seems to embrace an idea he and his top aides will advance more explicitly over the next two weeks.
Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed in a spontaneous riot over an anti Mohammed Internet video and not a planned attack.
He does use the term terror.
But only in a general sense in the context of the September 11 2001 al-Qaeda attacks.
No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve this great nation.
Alter that character.
The light of the values that we stand for.
He gives an interview to CBS's sixty minutes shortly thereafter.
He says nothing that has happened has made him second guess his policies in the Middle East since the Arab Spring -- bar was pretty certain and continue to be produced pretty certain that.
They're going to be bumps in the road.
That afternoon the president leaves for a campaign trip to Las Vegas -- the United States did not postpone a campaign event even though we had been hit.
I -- at the time.
I thought that that was the biggest political strategic mistake.
Of the upon a campaign Perino was the white house Press Secretary George W Bush's administration -- now Fox News host.
Just imagine if he would've said.
As commander in chief it is important for me to stay back here at the White House just imagine everybody thought wow how responsible.
Once the president made his statement.
I'm not sure what he should have done Democrat Eleanor Holmes Norton represents the District of Columbia always was -- city in morning.
For several days and not go about our daily business.
September 13 secretary of state Hillary Clinton suggests the attack.
Was just a spontaneous demonstration about the anti Islam video.
There is no justification.
None at all.
To this video with violence.
Current white house Press Secretary Jay Carney says so flat out the next day these protests.
Were in reaction to a video we have no information to suggest that it was a pre planned.
-- -- that day when the president and secretary of state greet the deceased at joint base Andrews Clinton talks again about the video.
We've seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful.
Internet video that we had nothing to do with.
September 15 California authorities hold a cooler this helium to cool the man who produced that video for questioning and marched -- in front of TV cameras.
-- -- September 16 US ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice goes on five Sunday talk shows repeating the same story each time.
What happened initially was it it was a spontaneous.
Reaction to what had just transpired in Cairo.
As a consequence of the video.
My reaction was where secretary of state Hillary Clinton.
You John Bolton who served as UN ambassador under George W.
Bush the choice of rice is telling for my own experience when you're a senior American.
Official you don't go on the Sunday talk shows and -- sure the White House choice.
So that that to me is an indication that there were already internal difficulties within the administration.
And that perhaps Secretary Clinton wasn't seen by the White House.
As the best spokesperson for what the administration.
Wanted to say September 17 the State Department.
Does the United States government -- What happened in that Gaza and taped an active terror.
Again I'm not gonna put labels on this until we have a complete investigation OK you know.
Terrorism I don't think we know enough I don't think we know enough.
From my experience for -- Obama's State Department spokesman PJ Crowley first reports.
Information that is correct.
And information that may be.
Misunderstood or are incorrect they panic.
Former White House chief of staff John Sununu is now a senior advisor to Republican Mitt Romney's campaign.
This is purely a political reaction.
In a White House that had prepared itself.
To establish a narrative of a president.
Getting rid of the threat of terrorism.
Using the death of bin Laden to focus on that.
And waking up 1 morning and finding out the terrorism on 9/11 not this year.
Was -- full fledged.
And even killing US -- I don't see.
-- political agenda.
Here I see the fog of war.
It's not about politics it's it's about the difficult task.
What happened September AT.
Did the administration had any sort of heads up.
That violence was increasing specifically Libya before the -- I'm not aware of any -- This is a matter that's under investigation in terms of what precipitated the attacks what the motivations of the attackers -- That night on the Late Show with David Letterman the story seems to ship slightly.
President Obama says the video did -- Muslim outrage which terrorist then exploited.
To attack and kill ambassador Stephen.
He had a video that was released by.
Somebody who lives here.
Sort of shadowy character -- this -- Great offense.
In much of the Muslim world.
But what also happened was extremists and terrorists.
Use this as an excuse.
A variety of our embassies including the one the consulate in in Libya.
September 19 Capitol Hill.
The head of the National Counterterrorism Center testifies.
And plainly states what most everyone already know I would say yes they were killed in the course of a terrorist attack on our embassy.
September 20 -- ABC's the view.
Is no doubt that.
That kind of weapons that were used.
The ongoing assault.
That it wasn't just a mob action.
The next day September 25 the president mentioned the video six times that the United Nations there's no video that justifies an attack on members.
October rate at a San Francisco fund raiser -- -- Obama -- the idea that threat from al-Qaeda is waning.
-- -- -- -- -- And Osama bin Laden is no more.
And then the next day October -- the State Department provides off camera a blow by blow account of the -- got the attack.
Reporters -- the compound was overwhelmed by an organized assault.
Fighters armed with machine guns mortars and possibly rocket propelled grenades October 10.
Congress holds a contentious hearing on the attack in Libya.
In Americans learned that State Department officials despite being warned of escalating attacks.
Refuse to beef up security in Libya use the shocking revelations made the first question.
In the next night's vice presidential debate.
All but inevitable I would like to begin with Libya.
And -- questions about what really happened to admit -- into one of the most heated issues of the presidential campaign.
Beyond the controversy over who said want.
Are bigger issues.
Next special report investigates what Ben Ghazi reveals.
About president Obama's foreign policy.
Is -- Smart diplomacy.
-- geo political correctness.
Fox's chief intelligence correspondent Catherine -- asks if you're reluctant to call terrorism by its name.
Can you ever defeat the terrorists.
We have no information to suggest that it was a pre planned.
Attack we've seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful.
Internet video they -- The spontaneous.
Reaction to what had just transpired in Cairo.
To -- Obama administration have a problem calling the threat by its name is no question that they have.
Avoided the use of the word terror -- former congressman Porter guns was head of the CIA under president George W.
We can't ignore war criminal lax we can't ignore terrorists acts.
Gone says the risk of ignoring terrorism is especially high in a part of the world awash in lethal weapons in Libya was just such a part of that world case in point.
A mysterious Libyan ship picked up in Turkey on September 6.
Just five days before ambassador Chris Stevens.
Information management officer Sean Smith and former Navy SEALs Tyrone -- England Gordy were killed during the extended terrorist -- -- Ben Ghazi.
According to an initial September 14 report by the times of London.
400 tons of cargo was on board some of -- humanitarian.
And it was reportedly also holding -- large consignment of weapons headed for Syria's rebels.
This ship and its cargo are huge warning sign that the situation on the ground in Libya is investing more dangerous than even the State Department may have -- -- Even before the well organized massive attack -- think -- they killed an ambassador who knew well the threat from al-Qaeda in the region was large and growing.
What do you think al-Qaeda looks like today especially in North Africa.
It's much stronger -- spreading -- so there's no question in your mind that al-Qaeda is stronger in North Africa today.
Then it was four years well absolutely it's got all kinds of new franchise operations the bank on the attack in the administration's reaction to it suggested guns that this White House doesn't get it.
The problem is they're avoiding reality and bad things happen when you move toward reality unfortunately we've seen that we we are in a stronger position today.
Then we were four years ago.
PJ Crowley former United States assistant secretary of state for public affairs under President Obama.
Believes the president's eighty -- policies are paying off particularly in places like Libya.
We've gone through a dramatic transition.
-- called the Arab Spring these transitions to democracy are repudiation.
Everything that bin Laden stood for entry and try to achieve -- through violent means.
Crowley says you don't make Americans safer with Edwards and playing you do it by winning over -- -- we can work it left the stage where we need partnership.
To solve any meaningful.
A crisis around the world.
The United States can never do that -- do you believe that there are a lot of dead Americans as a result of this administration's refusal to call the threat -- it is.
I do show signs of weakness they take.
That as an opportunity and they will attack.
What did the president say and -- did he set.
That question is one of the most explosive in the presidential campaign.
Could the election turn on the answer.
After the break.
Think constant terror attack the White House response.
The November election.
Democrats accuse Republicans of gotcha politics.
Republicans say this is an issue that cuts to the heart of the election.
This much is certainly true it's an issue that is not going away soon.
By October the Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is regularly hitting President Obama hard on Libya.
The attack on our consulate can't be blamed on a reprehensible video insulting Islam.
Despite the administration's attempts to convince us of that for so long.
But Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter insists the only reason it's a political issue at all is because Romney and Ryan are making it one.
October 11 right before the vice presidential debate I -- if she really meant.
Are you suggesting here are you suggesting that we're playing politics with -- -- -- -- anything you said that you have the entire reason this has become the political topic right for people are dead.
And resolutely and this administration let me just get my sentence out.
This administration has treated.
This entire tragedy with the utmost seriousness now at the same time that we're doing that we have two people campaigning around the country accusing us of covering something up but.
In the vice presidential debate itself moderator Martha Raddatz makes Libya her first question.
Wasn't this some massive intelligence failure vice president -- What was it was a tragedy.
We will get to the bottom of it because whenever mistakes -- made.
Will not be -- again congressman Ryan what we're watching on our TV screens as the unraveling of the Obama foreign policy and they want to let our security.
Well we weren't Alderman who -- want more security we did not know they -- -- security.
-- not only places the blame squarely on the State Department and the intelligence community.
He also seems to flatly contradict.
What State Department officials have said under -- That sends the administration back pedaling the next day October 12.
But the vice presidents -- Was it.
We -- we told you wanted more secure their choice that's forum and -- talking about -- that's what he was never read them more security was.
There was clearly a white has has been in a day -- box with you know huge truck this oversized -- -- every element of the government that -- under that.
Conservative author and commentator mark Stein has written about Islamic terrorism for years and they got the intelligence community.
And -- that I mean -- the State Department under the -- -- ambassador -- -- -- briefly about the attack and they got the this is -- on the program thanks -- But rice is boss will crawl under that bus herself.
On October 15 Monday secretary of state Hillary Clinton says she takes responsibility.
For what happened in Ben -- I want do everything I can't protect -- people and I also want to make sure that we track down whoever did this and bringing to justice clintons may have Coppola comes a day before the second presidential debate.
Where the president for the first time takes responsibility to.
Then goes after Romney.
The day after the attack governor.
I stood in the Rose Garden.
And I told the American people that this was an act of terror.
And the suggestion that anybody in my team would like politics or mislead.
When we've lost four of our own governor.
That set off an exchange that may go down as one of the most remarkable in the history of televised presidential debate.
You said in the Rose Garden the day after the attack it was an act of terror.
It was not a spontaneous demonstration is that what you -- saying please -- cigar.
Want to make sure we get that for the record because it took the president fourteen days before he called the attack and been -- an act of terror get the transfer.
It if he didn't and facts are so let me let me -- it call it an act -- -- -- candidate elected he.
He did call -- active terror.
Only after the debate this -- -- admit that may -- she was the one with her facts wrong syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer was part of Fox's debate coverage that night.
She walked away from it whereas her intervention on behalf of Obama was in front of 67 million people.
Who will remember that and not know anything about her work in the way.
Then Thursday October 18 a report claims secretary of state Clinton ordered security in Libya beefed up.
A request that was never carried out.
And just today officials State Department -- showing ambassador Stephens was increasingly worried about Al qaeda's security threats.
In the weeks leading up to the Ben Ghazi attack and even cables signed by Stevens on September 11.
The day he was killed more reasons for America to ask who is ultimately responsible for leaving those Americans so vulnerable.
If it's the White House this will be devastating.
But Marc Stein hopes the political postmortem.
-- an obscure the more frightening fact.
That terrorism may be back with a vengeance.
And America is woefully un prepared.
Now what's wicked about this -- is that the real politicized nation.
Is the guys who actually and we see this in times of you know who will hit ten Wear that hat just in Ohio.
Might cause us problems in Florida this could go bad for Obama.
-- -- It's real bad the United States because this is humiliation for the United States it's bad for Chris -- it's bad for Sean Smith it's bad for grand audience at the time when woods then dead.
