Earlier today police here -- new York and out on Long Island started enforcing rationing rules similar to those that we've been living with across the state line in New Jersey.

And with gas still in short supply the New York City mayor says this could continue for weeks the fox reports chief correspondent.

Well according to New York City man Mike Bloomberg yes it is and by definition of calls it should.

You're supposed to have -- as many -- able to get gas on any given day according to this.

All of even rationing but still what their odds still long lines there -- still some very short tempers at that.

And the distribution system still has many problems from damage pipelines and refineries.

To gas stations that will know how -- and if you don't have power -- -- gas stations.

You can't run the pumps so for the moment at least I would for a couple of weeks according to man Mike Bloomberg this kind of senior looking at right back.

That is bringing back memories I'm not very fond ones at the gas shortages in the long lines we -- way back in the 1970s.

And crews in trucks these things you would want to have.
