It is another first for San Francisco.

This week the city began preparing to become the first in the nation to help provide and pay for the cost of sexual reassignment surgery for uninsured residents.

The city already provides primary care mental health services and hormone therapy for those who qualify under the healthy San Francisco program.

A sexual reassignment surgeries and so what this does is it adds to the continuum of care that you know more of a choice.
