Of those whose homes were wiped out by hurricanes and you're asking themselves why did this happen to me.

They're obviously struggling some of them to find some -- But they don't need to look any further than their fellow Americans who are stepping up in incredible ways to help their neighbors get back on the feet.

Here to explain what's going on.

Fox News religion correspondent Father Jonathan Morris father great to have you here you know sometimes we might.

To re Catholics sadly and in some -- we can't understand that.

But as you said Mike.

The response of god also -- through our fellow citizens our neighbors let me tell you.

Just very quickly a story you know -- -- down and in in lower Manhattan.

And it's a lot of young people but there's also kind of a remnant of older senior -- Who live in these walk up apartments in speaking with them.

Afterwards and during this -- that fiasco.

In which we had no power no electricity.

They they said you know what I've lived in the same building with the same people for many years and now I know how many wonderful friends I have.

People coming up in making sure that they were okay taking them out shopping and making sure that they were that they had all their needs provided for that's the human touch.

And what I've been so impressed what is that what we've raised over 200 million dollars through organizations.

It is to human contact.

That brings the most amount of joy to people -- Organizations -- government can help no doubt but it's a human touch it's that neighbor serving neighbor.

That really brings joy and and -- back to people in tough times.

You're still right father John and it's just such a paradox in these situations where the organization's.

Like Long Island power authority fail people yet the people on the ground your neighbors your friends.

Pick you up and take care of you.

You know you.

It Al you're you're exactly right and when we wonder how does god allow this to happen I still -- myself that question no doubt not just lists this -- -- but so many others.

Sickness in our -- But when we decide I am going to be part of the solution.

I because I believe in the dignity of every human person a -- step out of my comfort zone I'm -- -- and that door that is part I believe very much a part.

Of God's response.

To that to the very real suffering that we experience.

And it can't indeed help your neighbor like Allison mentioned -- donating canned Red Cross is a good way to donate you can find them at Red Cross dot org you can text.

Red Cross to 90999.

And give ten dollars you can call them you see there 1800 Red Cross.

And if you can't even see got a company or organization who's matching your Red Cross the -- -- know there are several of those.

All tweet went on here in just a bit and that's the best thing that some people can do this morning father.

Did you know -- -- Bring people's attention to the importance.

Of private in faith based organizations in all of this you know FEMA is wonderful we -- need.

It and national organizations and we need even bureaucracy sort of speak organization at a higher level.

But who is it that's going to really make your life.

Better more joyful more inspiring human beings can do that and we need to make sure that the lowest level of organization.

Not at M reaches out to people in the best way possible that's right.

We have to make sure we don't just get into the habit -- hey listen we're gonna make sure these organizations come from top down and and then we don't have to do anything -- -- local communities know.

Local communities if -- an inspiration to start an organization do -- if you're able to help a local organization.

Do it because that's really what's going to to solve people's existential.

-- crisis that certainly refuel -- these times.

By the way Lady Gaga gave one million dollars to the Red Cross weight the -- I don't I patient again and other celebrities obviously have done their part.

And stepped out that she's from new York and and that's that I'm -- the Red Cross appreciated that check us that you gaga -- it.

No doubt.
