From a State Department official Liz Cheney says the FBI Justice Department heads are either incompetent.

Or not telling the truth.

How did -- not consider the CIA directors affair a security risk.

Take a look at this video we just got -- -- abroad while she was speaking at a security forum in July.

I was embedded with General Petraeus in Afghanistan.

And it was a little confusing for some of the folks there because I'm also -- military reservists at the top secret -- clearance and and then some.

So a lot of my former peers didn't know how to genius -- a major broad dollar was a journalist struggle.

I had to decide to follow very clear lines of nondisclosure and sign nondisclosure agreements like like my colleagues.

I felt like I was almost held to a higher level -- of accountability because they could lose my parents turn.

-- I -- -- with this opportunity to sit in high level meetings with general drifted in and -- -- different -- in the morning.

Come listen to cause a tight chatter of terrorists talking and so forth.

And I had that background -- once I knew a lot of information.

And he was important to inform my reading that he knew there was a clear line but it couldn't cross I was reading -- -- says.

-- diet I find it challenging sometimes to them.

-- justified.

Through when we had this discussion last night.

Do you feel like big government is holding something back in ninth giving apple juice or giving -- a false information and I think that sometimes he obviously the government can't come disclose.

Information because a source in the -- -- process that was just reinforced and had access everything it was my responsibility not to not to -- it.

Not to violate -- -- -- -- I was reading -- very close mr.

This -- joins us Liz com.

The FBI right now at -- this woman's house in North Carolina -- now what you thought well you know it it's hard to say exactly it could well be because these videotapes we've seen coming out today we're actually so -- the way.

Fox puts out and the from October 26 what are -- FBI gonna sit around watching fox waiting for something to come out of watching Jennifer well it's reported we're doing their work but go ahead side.

Well look I mean I think that that you pointed at a real problem we've got which is we know now mostly from reporting here but now you've got mainstream outlets interest in the story as well.

That the FBI director and the attorney general knew this summer that the director of the CIA was having an extra marital affair.

With the woman -- -- was unstable enough that she was sending threatening emails to somebody.

And their claim now -- they determined that that wasn't a security risk and so they didn't alert president.

That just defies logic ticket and -- and was alerted.

I think that either somebody was not doing their job or somebody's not on the truth I find it impossible to believe the president.

Was unaware and if somebody -- this information and did -- president then than there is a problem as well.

The so stunning about this is -- first in the CIA director that's got extracurricular activities is putting -- -- that makes him potential blackmail material.

Then you got -- -- -- attorney -- the United States who knows it in the summer does actually nothing but it's just it's not like the only thing he's got the ball and we look what happened the night after 9/11 hit did it was two or three weeks for the FBI.

Went to Ben -- to look at the place and then they're supposed link that picked up anything that there was there's relevant I want to October 26.

When foreign policy dot com said journalists there and they found Jack which I know what the world the FBI was doing the first time.

But Vinny got the problem that the CIA identifies the man from Tunisia.

As someone who was there at the time any soft and the FBI didn't talk to for weeks and weeks we've been busy administration says -- won't give us permission but it takes Lindsey Graham a phone call and how Letterman tweet for RC gets permission and the the FBI is doing nothing the attorney general is doing nothing that all -- in the way and -- has -- -- night at this other problems.

Know exactly and I think that at the at the heart of the matter you've got a situation where.

We've got consulate was attacked for Americans were killed clearly a terrorist attack.

The administration didn't want to admit that it was a terrorist attack and their actions -- have been not only to mislead the American people and say it was because of a video.

But to treated as you pointed out as law enforcement matter.

I don't want to -- if I let my country is a lot for -- but you homicide in the District of Columbia to detectives immediately begin investigate.

They didn't do that my friend I had a feeling that my view is that they shouldn't be treating as a law enforcement matter.

But they are even -- that confidently at this point.

And I do worry that you know -- did the Petraeus scandal is unfolding in this unbelievably fast way everybody's very focused on it clearly there weren't as you know there are serious issues and problems -- we've got to investigate.

But we can't lose sight of the fact that the secretary of state has refused to testify and secretary of state.

Needs to testify you would hope it wouldn't come to a subpoena given that for Americans under her direct command were involved.

That is exactly what the congress next it's how to do if she will not appear you know I'm.

It's about and this is yeah this big leap and it's -- -- unbeaten.

Perhaps very critical of the director of the CIA -- for now former director.

But he was being investigated last summer for this meanwhile last summer's whenever -- in the cable we need more security here.

Maybe if they if they didn't have this other activity going on in the side you would have paid more attention to his job and I may be huge leap of faith and grossly unfair how are we doing a forum we do -- four dead Americans -- we have him telling two different stories.

Are at least that telling a story that's fanciful on three days later -- it.

I think it's grossly unfair meat to be critical now.

Look I think it's it's right and I think you've also that the problem of what he told congress he was under OC apparently went up to the hill and so this is because of the video.

We know after the station chiefs just at different plane for hours there was a terrorist attack after the State Department -- said we never thought it was because of the video.

They're real problems here real potential that the extracurricular activities were in fact clouding his ability do his job.

But there is not a single place we've seen now where the administration has done the right thing whether it was before denying the security requests during not getting reinforcements there.

Or afterwards misleading the American people and the US congress has got to stay on that's.

Frankly all this wouldn't go away.

If they would just come forward and be straight.

-- the facts so my suspicion other people suspicion and evaporate if we got the straight story when you get two different stories and you've got four dead Americans it's it's it's hard to believe anyone wouldn't be enormously suspicious.

When your government's giving you two different stories.

-- exactly and now we've learned given news reporting that the administration may be preparing to nominate Susan Rice the secretary of state.

And I certainly hope that console -- Lindsey Graham's advice there and that.

Anybody who was involved in this really tragic tawdry mess ought not be elevated at this point clearly.

Liz thank you thanks for coming up what took them so.
