President Obama traveling to New York City today to some of the hardest hit neighborhoods actually devastated.

By super storm sandy expected to meet with first responders.

Well as family struggling to rebuild Eric Shawn is live in Staten Island and Eric what will the president be able to see.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- I just boarded up abandoned -- house behind it was moved by the force of the water look at those cars.

They were just completely moved when the water cascaded from the day onto the street -- Staten Island offense smashing through the front windshield of that van.

People here are desperate they say they I don't have a lot of hope they think that the insurance money will never be able to repair our lives completely and -- they really went.

But one thing -- they don't have electricity still more than two weeks.

After the devastation -- take a look at this we saw house that actually was ripped off its foundation it's in the middle.

And sadly tragically there a makeshift memorials around this neighborhood this one is to a man named Jimmy Rossi -- the sign on the door says we love you Jimmy.

He was 85 years old he -- this car to a higher ground but came back to his house I was not able to escape his body was found -- the backyard.

He apparently tried to leave it is 85 pound a Bulldog named -- half the victims.

51 victims in this area -- right here -- that out right.

-- there are signs should I suppose if things getting better there tell us about that.

-- there are that the hospitals for example about -- medical center remains closed today.

But on Monday we'll begin to see -- patients and why you -- on medical center was evacuated they're trying to get back up to speed.

There are so they're hoping for the hospitals we talk with -- -- -- he's president of the New York hospital system he told us they had never seen anything like this.

We had a mini tsunami come off the East River and enter through the loading dock of the basement.

With so much force that it ripped through a lot of the systems down there.

But the hospitals won't be fully back until February right.
