Also new information on the deadly terror attack -- thank god the hearings are under way right now on Capitol Hill lawmakers are still trying to figure out.

What exactly went wrong on September 11 that led to the murder for Americans.

They hearings coming a day after President Obama defended UN ambassador Susan Rice who was criticized.

For her remarks immediately following this attack.

I she's reportedly in contention to succeed Hillary Clinton as our secretary of state take -- listen.

If Senator McCain.

And senator Graham and others want to go after somebody they should go after make.

And I'm happy to have that discussion would.

But for them to go after.

The UN ambassador.

Who had nothing to do what -- doesn't.

And was simply making a presentation based on intelligence that she had received.

And -- divert besmirch her reputation.

Is outrageous.

And John Cornyn of Texas was just elected to be a senate minority whip in the upcoming congress a bit of a promotion if you well senator nice have you back on the program.

Thank you get a -- agree with you your reaction on what the president had to say yesterday.

Well I thought it was an overreaction to say the -- congress has a constitutional responsibility under our.

System of checks and balances.

Two consider any nominations and executive branch position like secretary of state.

The president knows that he used to be -- lecturer in constitutional law.

So I was very I was kind of surprised at how defensive he was about this but it's pretty clear that.

Ambassador rice misled congress and the American people about what happened the really the question I have is was it intentional.

Or did she not know what was going on and we still don't know what the facts are because we've had so many different scenarios rolled out by the administration.

We're left -- -- wonder what the truth this so that's why these hearings tomorrow morning in the House Intelligence Committee.

While future hearings with secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

Later on or very important to get to the bottom of good to get to the truth.

So I thought the president was showing a little bit of good defensive reaction there.

Sit affinity missions and that multiple hearings that are taking place on this topic I -- -- has suggested.

A senate select committee so some of this investigation and hearings.

I can be streamlined what are your thoughts on that.

I agree with that I think this is serious enough.

And there are enough questions.

Not only the families of the four people were killed.

In this attack but also whether the executive branch -- misled the American people and these these family members about what actually happened.

What do they know when did they know it.

And of course this that this scandal.

Surrounding General Petraeus.

Who by the way is a great American hero but part of a terrible tragedy.

-- circumstances.

What the relationship was between.

The investigation the FBI investigation in their knowledge of of of the Petraeus matter.

And whether that may have influenced the candor of the of the CIA and reporting the administration what that intelligence was.

So I think there's a lot of confusion here that can only be cleared up through select committee.

To get to the bottom of it.

If that doesn't happen because some senators like senator Feinstein have command said.

That's not the road they want to go down.

Well that the house.

Is in the majority so Republican leadership in the house where the chairman can determine.

Who's called to testify can still conduct hearings.

The problem is it's gonna be potentially up to four different committees.

That are conducting those hearings to be much more efficient and effective.

To do -- with just one select committee.

So -- -- our friends across the other Democrats in the senate don't wanna cooperate in the investigation.

It will still go forward under the auspices of the house leadership.

All right we'll continue to watch to see how that process did not -- just like to ask you one quick question I since we're confronting so many big issues including the fiscal cliff.

In this next six weeks or so before -- the end of the year.

What you think the Republican Party hasn't learned.

From this last election cycle that you think we'll be applied in these next six weeks.

Well what I learned is that the American people don't trust either party with all of the answers.

Because we got divided government in fact it was status quo election Democrats controlling the White House the house the senate and Republicans control in the house so they want us to work together.

But the problem is the president has not yet laid out his proposal on how to deal with the fiscal -- His tax proposal to raise taxes on people in the two upper income brackets would generate.

Just a drop in the bucket compared to the size of the the difference between what -- spend.

And what we bring in terms of taxes over a trillion dollars a year for each of four years of his first term.

So it's not a serious proposal.

The campaign is over he won congratulations.

But now it's time to govern and the president needs to come up.

With that serious solution and not threaten the American people what economic pain and another recession.

Certainly a lot of work ahead senator -- we look forward to talking to you in the next couple weeks as we watched Heather Graf plays out thank you very -- -- -- Well the.
