Now on Fox News Channel on an update on the deadly train crash involving US military veterans that's happened tonight in west Texas.

The police chief in the town of Midland says four people are dead.

And a city spokesman says seventeen others are -- area hospitals.

After a train slammed into a flatbed trailer carrying veterans on their way to a parade.

The event organizer tells the -- group Midland reporter telegram newspaper.

That workers are still trying to -- for everybody after Union Pacific train hit that trailer.

Trace Gallagher tracking developments -- one witness says the -- -- trailer somehow may have gotten stuck on the tracks.

Got stuck -- the traction over others are saying they're not sure the actual crossing gates ever came down in any event what happened was that the train actually collided head on with this.

What was serving as a parade float which was a flatbed eighteen -- you can take a look you can see the trip the chairs that are kind of up on that flat bed and the military veterans and their girlfriends and their wives were actually sitting on these chairs kind of going by.

Like a parade float would do and for some reason it got stuck on the tracks.

And that a lot of the military veterans witnesses say tried to get off as quickly as they can.

And they clearly many of them did not make a jab they have just up the number of injured to seventeen many of them are critical.

As you said four -- we just contacted a local hospital.

And the person who answered the phone.

But the dispatcher was apparently -- overwhelmed -- crying so hard we could not understand.

What she was saying clearly just happening outside of Midland Texas a small town.

In west Texas there were true of those flatbed trailers part of this for -- if you will these are the hunt for.

Take that back the hunt for heroes which is a group that aids support to wounded warriors in other words they take -- out for outdoor events like hunting and fishing.

Their benefit bank what was supposed to be tonight the big hunting trip tomorrow clearly that has now all changed a tragic and horrifying scene.
