I had new internal CIA investigation opened who is the target.
It's former director Dave Petraeus now one week ago General Petraeus resigned over the extramarital affair with -- -- well but today.
The sex scandal well they got weirder -- socialite Joseph Kelly told reporter that she had breakfast at the white house on September 28.
Now this claim has not been verified Korean investor John Bolton joins -- -- Good evening glad -- you if you.
First your overall I thought today about -- what transpired on Capitol Hill in terms of other at least some report behind closed doors today.
Well I think the most interest thing testimony that's leaked out and I do have faith the rest of it will leak out in due course is that the Director of National Intelligence in the acting CIA director.
Would not say where the talking points that Susan Rice used on those famous five.
Sunday shows came from so the notion that somehow or another.
This was -- supplied to her by the intelligence community.
I think is now in question in the real issue is did the White House.
Right those talking points to suit their ideology to suit their political.
Imperatives.
Where it where did all that come from and and that I think is going to be the focus of of a lot of the inquiry with director Petraeus tomorrow.
One of the things it served curious -- and I'm totally any outside of this but I having tried case and know that some things you have to sort keep secret.
-- some things on capitol military kept secret because it's classified.
But I have -- a similar -- from the outside that things tend to get over classified that this -- information today we probably could have hurt.
-- how to the American people the term what is legitimately classified.
Left owing to this does sound judgment and members of congress and how much -- we just not hearing and then frankly have a right here.
Well I think that the next step should be.
Having these same hearings in public with whatever small amounts of stuff that is written really legitimately.
Classified we'll just kept out of the public domain I'm not troubled myself.
By closed hearings at first but I think -- inevitably -- we're gonna need.
To have these hearings -- out in the open because let's just talk about substance for a minute.
There is no evidence and never has been.
That what happened in many guys he was the result of the demonstration that got out of control the people on the ground and -- -- on September the eleventh never believed that.
You don't need intelligence for that you just have to talk to US government employees.
So the disparity between the reality on the ground and the administration story.
Was stark from day one and I think you can talk about that in public and you can find out.
Who and the administration was involved in crafting the cover story.
Let this serve their number of death topics they address Seattle I've outlined all the topics of five of the one billion the inquiry that lineup a lineup first -- -- CIA doing that and then what the world as a C I didn't -- a rather large CIA contingency.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- but General Petraeus he goes 914 -- on -- our fourteenth.
He has he's tells the same start yet the president went on recent entertainment.
An exaggeration -- went on Letterman he went on the view.
-- talking about the video that's weird.
Then you got the -- with General Petraeus and -- well -- -- the girlfriend and we don't know Beverley -- to somehow -- how he did his job.
-- how did she get classified documents wouldn't she get that.
And -- and whether or not you know one of the affair begin in the didn't begin when he was in the military isn't like the rest of their a lot of unanswered questions and so being done.
Presumably for the most part so far behind closed.
Stores but it was just one day right.
Right well I think that's why Senator McCain and senator Graham and senator I got a proposed to select committee presumably that would be in public.
And I I think this is gonna go on for quite some time I think people are kidding themselves if they think this is a flash in the pan.
There's just too much involved here in the administration's.
Past 78 before during and after the September the eleventh attack.
And frankly the past seventy that they've displayed.
Once the the Petraeus brought well affair was uncovered.
Is just inexplicable the notion that somehow the president is prohibited from finding out what the FBI is doing that maybe somebody needs to read the constitution you know the FBI.
It's part of the Department of Justice they actually work for the president.
So there there's a lot here in the way the administration has handled this that I think it warrants further investigation as well.
How do people who think this is an important topic -- are many important topics how to think convince those who it would say well it's just political.
How to convince some of these these things well matter.
The most important point is remembering that with -- dead Americans on September the eleventh other official Americans and indeed American private citizens throughout the Middle East.
Remain at risk and until we fully understand.
And as a nation what happened on September the eleventh we can't possibly.
Take adequate steps are formulate policies to protect Americans who might be at risk I have never seen this is political.
That maybe that's just because I used to work in the State Department and and see the risk that that our people have all around the world but the notion that you can passively wait for an internal State Department review board.
For passively wait for an investigation.
That the CIA director may be compromise to play out over weeks and months.
It just doesn't hold water these are issues that effective leadership real management in the executive branch.
Address -- immediately to prevent further tragedies or further loss of classified information.
-- time's up.
You know we really mean this happened there as you noted that for Americans -- -- also several people were injured in it as well.
Is that that sort of argument -- political people video the Obama administration meant that was successful in keeping it under wraps in terms of the there weren't any hearings between the time that -- first became evident on September 11.
And Election Day you know they they got -- past that did -- so that we didn't infect the election in any way.
But not really is a time to like you don't find out what happened and I actually am appalled when people say that it's political -- but I tried we.
This isn't the -- this is in many -- a murder investigation for dead bodies.
And and we are some people -- Us politics.
Well I think it goes beyond that -- I think now we've got more than two months since they attack and the consulate in Ben -- And no retribution no retaliation no visible action by the United States against those who murdered.
For American citizens down maybe there's something the administration has in the works.
One of the rare national security secrets they've been able to keep.
But but the signal in the Middle East and beyond is you can kill Americans with impunity and that is a lesson.
Once learned it's -- -- cause consequences that reverberate down the years.
Investor thank you --
