Welcome back everybody serves up tough love on -- top rated single a talk show not Dr.

Phil is sharing his seek playbook.

To survive in today's rapidly changing world it's called life code.

The new rules for women in the real world we're joined right now by best selling -- there I'm projecting it.

He's thirty bestselling -- Active felt welcome back they have glad to be here what changed about a world that we now have -- would just do with that in 1950s parent people won't help us largely what everything's -- think about it -- I was in school we didn't have computers didn't even have computers.

Now -- kids can get bullied on the computer they can be -- a video game you think they're playing a video game.

That controller is connected to the Internet I could be in a chat room while using that controller in their hands.

So that's changes to biggest change since the industrial revolution in my produced 500 television channels.

They're getting bombarded with everything so it is not just to kids it's us we live in a different world.

And so I've written this book -- code.

There and -- -- there -- people in this world that are out there willing to take advantage of you but -- identifiable.

You can know who they are you can spot them.

I've got what I call the evil -- in here that lets these let you know who these people are.

And then I put in their play -- but -- think about the world has changed that for example this book.

You get this book.

That's the book note dot com -- that's an online bookstore there was they've at all on books or ten years ago headed and your iPad you -- me come on the that the that this thing didn't even happen -- ago.

So what are the ways in which we teased the segment coming up with -- he said doctor Phil's gonna help us raise kids.

Who are not selfish and feel entitled there's so much talk about this me generation -- it that way.

I do and that's because we have overloaded these kids.

He used to we had to entertain ourselves right.

Men out there in such stimulus overload that if you give them five minutes alone is like wait a minute somebody come do something for many.

And we talk about this generation like we had nothing to do with a win.

Raise them right excellent I don't take action to can just throw this -- -- I have to get his senior.

I have a fourteen year old Dr.

Phil he's the first year high school just -- report card it straight days.

But there are times where he acts -- he doesn't want to go to -- -- wants to watch or play video game or gets mad at me.

And he says -- -- and get it straight days -- how to handle that well.

One of the things that I say and here what are talking here about what you have to do to win in this real world because that's a formulas well.

And one of the -- to do is pick your battles particularly with kids you pick your battles.

You don't have to fight every fight with -- kids if he's staying within certain boundaries and he's progressing and moving along.

You don't have to fight every battle you give a little bit but I tell you what if he doesn't respect authority if he doesn't follow guidelines.

On the little things may soon become big -- so he's got to understand when you choose the behavior you choose the consequences if you choose to -- dad.

The whole world comes apart.

But on the other hand you know if he didn't you like to like -- What -- -- -- the musician he used to come home with one put polka dots and it's here where Mohawk go ahead if you don't want in a couple weeks he'll shave it off and do some else.

He's so -- daddy got to reverse Mohawk watching on.

OK but they go ahead give percent of abductor Phillip my kids got polka dot I think any rating I'm not Dr.

Phil at home -- -- There's also go to Dr.

Phil we did not write -- I think this is the book everybody needs to read I really do because the world wouldn't win the game changes the rules changed when a rules change you need a new rule book.

And that's what this is about -- and we got a few questions to ask you also we have I know exactly their kids doing.

-- -- I think that Dr.
