-- -- a dangerous situation between Israel and Hamas grows more tense the US and Britain.

Are now warning of the potential risks of a full on ground where should this conflict escalate.

Beyond the rocket attacks that we're seeing now but Israel says it has to do it has to deal.

Hamas simply has to stop firing.

And we have to create a situation where they cannot go back to where they were before where every other week.

Some Hamas rocket people would start firing dozens of rockets into the southern part of the country and send a million Israelis into bomb shelters.

But no country would tolerate that type of situation.

President Obama has said that no country would -- that situation that Israel has the right to defend itself and has the right to decide how best to defend itself.

It's that's a backdrop at the -- KT McFarland is a fox national security analysts.

A former deputy assistant secretary of defense in the Reagan administration and captain Chuck Nash of the former US navy captain.

And an FNC military -- welcome great to have you both with us obviously a ton of experience in the area.

And let me start with you captain Nash in terms of the reality on the ground do you expect that we will see a ground war.

Hamas this time may have just push the Israelis too far they've spent a lot of money time and effort to go -- full mobilization.

If they were to back down from this now.

The deal that they cut better be really really special because there's nothing that says they couldn't.

Becky jerking them around mobilization after mobilization at some point the Israelis are just gonna go in there and clean that place out.

It looks like the Israelis you know in terms of what they're hitting made his stockpiles.

I was in Atlanta try to wipe out as much of the military capabilities they -- A Hamas they went after the television station there was a report does cross the last little while the others say that they got Hamas militant in that hit.

-- think that they are doing enough.

Two to sort of shock.

Hamas into backing down humor.

I don't think it's -- about Israel and Hamas I don't think it's a typical you know Hamas -- a couple of missiles.

Israel comes back and take them out I think in this case is is a much bigger picture why it's all about Iran.

Israel it is -- -- -- down the road decides it's got to do a preemptive strike against Iran's.

Nuclear facilities what -- should -- be doing now take -- ability to Iran's ability to retaliate and that's what those missiles are all about.

That's why they're 101000 missiles in Gaza that the Israelis want to take out now medium range long range missiles.

As much as the command authority of that as they can do because they want that -- six months down the road.

If they have no choice but to take out Iran's nuclear facilities that Iran's ability to retaliate by unleashing -- -- -- 101000 missiles on Israel.

It's reduced.

How how much more tension is in this situation -- Nash.

Because of the Arab Spring because we have new leadership in places like Egypt for example.

Well.

The Hamas actually is is very closely aligned and was born of the the Muslim Brotherhood which is so active in all Middle East and and and -- was stationed.

So you've got that aspect of it but Kate teams this spot on with -- involvement in this.

This is not in Egypt's best interest for something like this to happen because anyone who thinks that Hamas can provoke a an Arab Israeli war.

Is crazy the Syrians are all pre occupied right now.

-- your previous report just talk about what's going on in Jordan.

And Egypt certainly doesn't want to go mono a mono with a with.

Israel so who is involved in this and whose stirring the pot.

And oh by the way.

Who -- dropped off the news.

Ticker.

Because everybody's focused on Israel it all goes back to the Iranians -- stirring the pot and and they like everybody focused on somebody else not on them.

We have a great points a -- Lindsey Graham spoke a little while ago.

Are on Sunday sources say and basically said that Egypt needs to to watch it -- and it added that we give them a tremendous amount of financial backing that everybody is watching.

This new leader Mohamed -- to see it -- you know whose side he's not whose French he has in this situation how -- expect that to play out -- Well I think worse -- it are really difficult situation because remember this is the first time in forty years.

That the that Egypt is now governed by a very different group of -- guys forty years and there's been a peace treaty between Israel and Egypt.

Now the new Egyptian leader -- Morrissey here's Muslim Brotherhood -- -- his cousins are Muslim Brotherhood Hamas.

So he's got a very narrow line to walk on the one hand if he looks like is supporting.

A Muslim Brotherhood Hamas going up against Israel he's got to face the wrath of the United States -- -- pocketbook of the United States on the other hand.

If he's doesn't look like you support him and he's got -- down Islamist factions inside Asia to affect you.

We could have been Mubarak for this kind of a reaction.

Kept Nash has is gonna play out.

Well -- remains to be -- like I said it's that the Israelis have gone through full mobilization they're ready to go.

It's a very costly thing in time immaterial.

And money so for them to do this on a bluff.

That's not happening but they have to also look this is not just urban combat.

Gaza has been hollowed out underneath their tunnels all over the place between buildings so that is a conventional force advances.

The bad guys drop down run through the tunnels and come back up behind him.

I've had briefs from there Israeli intelligence this is very nasty battle ground so they're done I am sure they're not going to do this lightly if they do it that's a big deal.

I'm seeing right about that and have Nash thank you so much KT McFarland thank you as always great to have you with us.
