First tens of thousands of children in the Gaza Strip now going back to school as the fragile cease fire between Hamas and Israel appears to be holding.
This is families on both sides of the border continue picking up the pieces after weeklong strikes -- -- in Jerusalem with the very latest on that Connor.
Well Rick this three days in now -- this he's fired appears to be holding and the threat of all out war between Israel and Hamas appears to be subsiding fairly rapidly.
And there are signs that life is returning to normal here in the holy land for the first time in more than a week children of -- back to school both Israel.
Ending guys that yesterday children in southern Israel returned for.
Their school classroom work and this comes as stores and markets are beginning to reopen -- southern Israel as we speak and across the border in.
Guys that Palestinian children return -- -- for schools for the first time in more than a week as the -- there is beginning.
Now what of the big points of this cease fire agreement is the easy you know of the blockade around Gaza.
And for the first time we're fine now sort of what that means there's lot of ambiguity in vagueness around that statement.
But for the first time we're now seeing -- Palestinian -- been able to finish off the coast of Gaza.
That was -- restrict activity under the previous sort of engagement rules before this cease fire went into effect.
We're now seeing fisherman take their -- out in fish off the coast of Gaza another big point the change in the last three days yourself is the fact that Israeli troops have moved off the border.
Now it is just small groups of Palestinian Hamas security officials.
And Israeli troops patrolling that joint border between Israel and Gaza these are big changes that we've seen just in the past 72 hours.
Now isn't clear what is going to happen in the future but both sides Israel and Hamas are meeting with Egyptian officials.
To try to work out some type of long term agreement to keep this cease fire going Israel and Hamas will not speak directly to each other.
Think they are certainly he's passing is information in negotiating through Egypt in the United States.
There is a lot of skepticism is whether or not this is a a long term agreement they can be held up but there is certainly hope.
A small bit of optimism here that there is something that can be built off of this.
