So we want to welcome to fox -- -- welcome our first guest here on set which is Mindy -- my -- media relations director of world vision.

And terrific subject that you're bringing to us today on giving Tuesday.

How you can volunteer virtually this is a new national movement I understand what is giving Tuesday we know about Cyber Monday I don't know Black Friday.

But now we've got giving Tuesday's tells about exactly and in those two.

-- actually helped inspire this new one because we realized.

As an organization and other hundreds of organizations around the nation that there -- two days really dedicated toward getting things for sure but we needed a -- that focuses on giving back because really that's what the -- seasons are all about.

So beginning Tuesday starts marks the first annual hopefully -- repeat after this here.

But there -- more than a thousand organizations and signed up.

And basically what we're trying to do is get Americans excited about getting back in whatever way that you can get back so some organizations are offering.

Please if you can physically go and volunteer crown but we also know that world vision that most families and people have to work during the day or have kids at home.

And it's not always an option to get out the door so what were promoting this here's virtual -- so basically you can get online and try to give back in a virtual way this year.

We have a couple different options domestically what we're trying to encourage people to do still.

Participate in -- -- relief efforts that are right here in New York so important so important we had thousands of people who obviously lost power -- resources.

So one of the items are brought in today to showcases the emergency food -- this is crystal distributing you know most people have moved on from the story.

But this is something that's gonna impact families from for a long time you know.

It is interesting my my husband has -- only have a Long Island -- it would out there this weekend from either go check -- some things and that the neighborhoods literally still look like a bomb went off as you've been seeing on Fox News all of the fantastic reporters.

Out in the field and these trucks were going around with a bullhorn saying get a hot meal if you -- hot food but people were coming -- Out of their homes and you know I never did in the cleaning clothes and trying to get cleaned out and they they are still hungry what is this it is this easy for people to -- It can be I mean if they have had their power back on because a lot of people lost power when they they've lost all the resources in the French.

These are just add water so basically it's enough food in one bag to feed a family of five -- -- day.

And these are available on our website you just have one can have a oatmeal and on that cream cheese and rice and that kind of stuff.

Let Tom this is something that is very much needed right now all across this region and we're still distributing.

The other way people can get involved tomorrow in which I'm very excited about is internationally I mean sometimes we forget about those who are international who also need food.

And one of the ways that we've offered to give is different from our emergency food -- it's actually giving a live animal.

So you've seen at the holiday season -- -- I panel I love it -- goes live chickens live you know a lot of different items Cal's.

We have more than 250 items in our world vision and Christmas gift catalog.

People can pick from and say OK what do I wanna do.

-- -- I love about this is that this can be really a family tradition that starts around this time of year.

We sit down with your kids and say okay we're -- think about ways that we as a family can get involved.

Out -- getting back in a different way and think about people outside of our -- a little neighborhood and think about people internationally we need these resources.

I think what's exciting -- the goats and -- as you know you don't really think of these -- Christmas gifts for really for the families who get these he's helped provide.

Food and resource is an extra income that they able to help with and for their family.

Right and looking at -- one of the pictures in this catalog dairy -- can give a family 5000 gallons of milk -- look at look at this hot air.

-- this is this is so -- and and what a great ways as you mentioned again.

Now I find.

Don't they don't buy -- cow or pig or goat for somebody do I do I get a picture of the family you what the animal how to like track.

My donation like I wanna do what you can do is.

-- consigned to get one of the postcards in the mail and I don't have that information come directly to use that.

Many times what people will do is use these as an alternative Christmas gift idea -- -- -- we're trying to think what is the perfect gift to get mom and dad the holiday season could pick up really everything they need rent seeking give on behalf of them and say OK here -- alternative Christmas gift this year.

And you get this you can get -- -- tangible item in the mail -- most likely -- postcard if you like.

And what countries are we talking about how far reaching.

The session responds in nearly a hundred countries worldwide and -- you don't really get to pick your country in this case without sponsorship you can and that's part of our gift catalog.

But in this case you just -- the the item that you want I actually when I first started with prohibition just two years ago.

I actually got -- good citizen action so I spent several weeks in Tanzania in Ghana tracking this and I was actually skeptical -- reporter before this I think that's an I went over there thinking do they really get things items -- and I met -- after family who got these items and I think the most touching story from me.

With a little boy named Elvis who have met in Tanzania -- got chickens and I thought okay well no big deal these are just chickens where I -- for like life changing can speak.

Well his family sat me down and they talked -- -- -- you know maybe not only is our Stanley gaining.

A lot of extra food because of the X the -- to sell the extra -- that market and have extra income.

And again I didn't think that was that they haven't healed but when they told me that that extra income now pays for almost to go to this the school in town -- considered the -- school.

He is the only child in the community now speaks English and he's teaching his other friends in the community how to speak and I -- again -- -- -- matter in this community.

And they said yes because he will now have a good job when he grows up.

And it will for ever change this family's life I psychic gift that keeps on giving it isn't true this form -- and -- -- -- -- go one of the ways that you prefer to speak.

It -- Tuesday and love this.

Teach generosity.

Yes and it's so important when -- tell your children you know especially on the holidays -- it's not about what presents you get under the Christmas tree here visiting Santa at the -- But it's about -- being able to be generous as a family and know that that's the true spirit of Christmas that is so my.

OK so we've got a volunteer virtually and again and how much of these kids that is feeding the family -- sixteenth sixteen dollars and and that's you know for many people.

That's a drop in the bucket it's easy to do you're feeding a family of five per day good healthy for the united and this is not a bad experience this is good stuff.

Exactly and I know the goats kind of get a little bit of expensive I think about 75 dollars -- -- but there are more than a hundred items in our gift catalog that are under thirty dollars.

So really it's a great way to sit still involved with your Stanley at -- at any price -- and.

To put up the -- we want people to receive his website go to the market on your computer a www.

World vision Jeffs dot org.

Mindy my -- media relations director of world vision thank you so much but he hasn't it hasn't commented -- happy holidays to you and best of luck we.

We hope that he'll come back and tell us and how many people you've got to donate to these sorts of causes something that terrific idea again if you think Tuesday don't just -- that.

I mean what better way to get this -- started after Cyber Monday -- need to get to giving Tuesday.
