Gave them because you asked me an email from gentleman by the name -- Glenn Miller he writes the following I do not hear much about the fast and furious investigation.

I understand why the news media backed off.

What that email from Glen coming amid what could be big developments in the investigation very soon.

Lawyers for the Justice Department and house Republicans will lead soon you're talking about a potential settlement in the case and Lincoln center for law and justice.

I'm in the morning three areas to go -- -- kids are gonna meet here in the near future I don't know if that's this week -- it's a week for an -- -- month right now.

But what are you hearing on the date for the meeting and why would that be significant.

Well the what's happening right now is to -- a major hearings are gonna start coming up after the first of the year.

So what you've -- is that it's her pretty typical this kind of litigation is to see a period of time right before the major motions are argued.

That you try to resolve the conflict in the resolving the conflict here of course -- be the production of -- numerous documents that -- that congress is rightfully ask for I think the Justice Department.

Does not want to go through a full contempt proceeding.

If they could avoid that so I think what you're gonna see it made like you said bill -- be next week it could be.

At the end of the month it could be -- -- could be in December early January but there's a major hearing coming up in January.

So I suspect that right now what we're gonna see is an attempt to provide documents and reason has been pretty quiet in the news is because it is now -- court.

And the -- process generally -- pretty slow.

But on this one I think you're gonna see an attempt to get these documents released weather will be successful or not.

This resolution.

Nobody knows I don't I don't remember -- right threat whenever webpart did this year this.

-- a letter that was sent by the Department of Justice that was later retracted right and in that letter denied that the ATF and any connection fast and furious which eventually.

Led to the death of Brian Terry on the border in southern Arizona -- the retract that.

Why is that so -- broad to understand the heart of this story.

Yeah well that's what created the problem here you you got to look at it this way -- you've got members of the congress the house and senate have hearings.

You've got Justice Department officials and or testifying.

And in their testimony they make unequivocal statements and ATF was not involved.

They put in a letter in February and then eight months later they have to withdraw that letter retract that letter saying was factually incorrect.

That in fact ATF was involved and built a private citizen -- -- before congress and make a mistake before congress.

They could face serious hurt perjury allegations and it could be -- be deemed a criminal act.

So here the reason this controversy takes place again is this -- -- of the letter.

And no real release of documents and then you had to slow drip of documents that we had over the summer and even in the spring this last year.

And the fact of the matter is that letter in that -- -- that was later attractive is why there is such a level of distrust between the just department.

And the exit a legislative branch of our government which is -- house house Republicans -- -- it is because you told our producers there's no indication the documents requested fall under.

Executive privilege what does that indicate that -- It indicates to me that what they've got his documents that are going to be troubling to the Justice Department.

And and probably.

Troubling to higher ups in the Justice Department admitted you know that -- -- -- inspector general report saying well wasn't Eric Holder but it was some of his deputies.

Certainly knew what was going on it's not executive privilege.

Because they insisted that the president was not notified it was not involved in this while the president wasn't notified of legal advice was not given to the president of the United States.

Well no there's no executive privilege so I think the executive privilege argument is gonna fall short.

And that's why you see some documents hopefully release and get to the bottom of this they -- that the border agents family Brian Terry's family deserves.

The answer the American people deserve the answer.

And congress deserve the truth here they were basically lied to bill it's serious I mean to have a letter comment and then we're tracking it this is serious stuff got -- again and I -- -- -- there's -- when -- filed a brief the Justice Department on this and have you you've been on the story from the very beginning.

But but just in -- here you believe the administration.

Is ready to cut a deal.

I think they wanna cut -- you know I don't have any you know I can't -- I don't -- crystal ball on this but if I was representing the white house on this or the Justice Department I would try to cut a deal.

I get the document -- and get this behind the president because right now this is still this lingering as you've got this email from the viewer.

There's lingering doubt as to the integrity and honesty what's going on in the Justice Department they just need to get it over with the longer these things go.

It tends to be the worse it gets it's the old story the -- bad enough the coverup is worse and I think that's what you've got here and now they just need to come clean with the documents.

Let the committee's review those documents make its recommendations and findings and get this dodger secular and I was representing the White House -- -- the Justice Department to do just.

Got to thank you for coming in today good to talk review again to thank you know an -- got a question -- what answered BYA because you asked.
