Your debut album and when did back.

Do we did eighty.

Came -- a couple weeks ago we're gonna release the whole album in.

About a month.

Are so so many people know you as a surfer tell tell us about making the transition.

What made you say you know what it's time for me to do this.

I've been playing music for quite a long time traveling on the road surfing and I've sort of accumulated songs along the way that I was.

Putting together and I was encouraged to.

You know pursue.

A CD and it's to try to put it altogether and and over the last year or so have been working on this -- -- -- I love the song -- land road it can't wait to hear more about that I love that line be safe and warm again -- -- is it really convey is.

That the thought the feeling in the heart of that song.

And and the beautiful landscape of California you with your -- to Qatar -- tell me about writing.

Well writing his.

I think it's it's a gift you know for -- for a lot of people from I would say for me it's something that's.

A lot of work goes into it.

And I think sometimes ideas come along pretty easily and then other times it's really a matter of trying to just.

Make everything make sense so it's it's quite a challenge really.

-- I do enjoy it.

And I I read the -- like to write songs that you would want to listen to incorporating different musical styles.

I'm so when you sit down to write and you do obviously haven't a great group of musicians with you looks like you have a lot of people in your -- You know where where do you draw that inspiration of this is this this is the type of music I want to listen to in my car maybe going out for walks and so don't want.

Well I think he could be a lot of things was this song in particular has a very kind of easy going feel to it so it's.

It's almost -- I suppose and sometimes I think music can be like that -- and sometimes -- be more.

You know I energizing her -- more aggressive perhaps you know but.

I'd like to listen to music -- Bit maybe isn't too personal but has some kind of personal things going on as well.

And you worked with some love some marquee names on this album tell us about some of the people who work.

John Malaysia produces and he's.

Quite -- top.

Talented producer on the West Coast.

And he had some really amazing.

Players.

Doing some of the session work including.

Jim Keller -- Very.

Favorite driver of mind you know over the years and there very well -- guys as well.

That's awesome so -- you've got a gig tonight New York City which is always a big deal thankfully the weather's cleared it's cold outside but.

You've got some good weather to get people out tell us about the show.

It's a small.

Venue down and though were beside I think again it's called the -- room.

And we came over -- to do couple things we're gonna be doing little bit of recording.

Next we're going to Hawaii for a couple of shows over there fun and then also doing -- surfing in between so.

And -- getting ready for the album release and and in January.

I hear your surf buddies are very.

Very proud of you and have really fallen have been following you as well and -- must feel and what a great combination to be a professional surfer and that singer songwriter.

You when you go to Hawaii to get together with them play your music -- you.

Yeah plastic guitar what are my envisioning.

Yeah that's right you're you're absolutely right a lot of the guys who to two were on the pro tour now they do a lot of you know playing in Sino Iranian Sosa -- good.

Informal group of guys that that are there you know for.

The really serious business of qualifying for the tour and that sort of thing happens and then you know -- a lot of days when there's nothing going on.

There's a bit of music as well do you miss the professional circuit of surfing.

I don't miss it that much.

I got to tour for quite a number years and I still get to travel and serve so.

It's really been good.

You -- have the best of both worlds could not bad at New York to Hawaii.
