The flight 93 memorial is a constant reminder of those who lost -- lives in a Pennsylvania field back 9/11.

But what eleven years later that memorial is still not finished and now the wife of Pennsylvania senator Pat Toomey.

Want to completed Christian in me and her husband senator Patrick and her joining us now here -- studios welcome to the vote to view.

He hit it could have just obviously this tragic event happened so many years ago and one would have thought that by now this memorial would have been completed.

Why is taking -- -- you know I was.

Priced to learn at that tenth anniversary of 9/11 to limit the funding hadn't been completed.

And they can't finish the final phases until they have the funding so I'm just trying to help raise awareness that they they still need the funds raised about five million dollars.

And so having this congressional tribute on -- congressional tribute is very important to you personally I know because you're going to be getting family members there and other congressional leaders.

Well and family members of the victims and you know and I think what's so important is sent.

The people that this memorial commemorates for the people that were the first Americans to respond in this war.

In an incredibly courageous fashion without having signed up for this without knowing what was coming they responded.

And may have saved who knows how many lives here in Washington because.

-- believes that that plane was destined for the capital.

I know that.

This obviously does have the Pennsylvania and most of the donations of content from Pennsylvania residents -- you really believe this is not just offensive and historic -- -- national.

The issue.

And the plane as it was headed for California and resilience and -- in in New Jersey and that.

-- mean I'm not sure how many people from Pennsylvania were on the plane but.

It was a plane full of Pennsylvania so I think you know everyone shouldn't should want to finish this smiling and help and contribute.

That's not my help you know what are you doing it that outreach -- well where -- -- this congressional tribute.

And to raise awareness with members of congress and just to remind him you know the importance of of the sacrifice that these -- Memphis these passengers and crew made in taking the plane and not letting -- clean and in DC.

When it you know that destruction to the capital -- the lives.

You know thing.

They made a big sacrifice and absolutely.

I know for the family members of the victims there that this is extremely personal very very important you must admit but many of them.

I have and we were at a ceremony recently -- part of this sound memorial was unveiled on the tenth anniversary.

It's just really really important that as a nation we remember all the aspects of September 11 this is a really really important piece of it is the beginning of our engagement -- In this terrible experience so an issue obvious thing in a way a celebration of the Indian enormous coverage of these.

Absolutely because even the people might think -- just -- out an open field there the stories of those.

Hero's remains very much alive in our hearts and that's exactly what needs to be completed -- learning center has not been finished and the school students that come they.

They're young -- they had no recollection of of September 11.

So that's part of of what needs to be completed with these additional funds.

Senator I can't let you go without asking a quick question about the gridlock in Washington what are your thoughts right now as the fiscal cliff deadline is looming large.

You know the the makings of the deal here -- understood for a long time.

On our side we've acknowledged that some I was gonna have to be some revenue in this.

Peace but we really have to tackle the actual problem which is -- spending some hope -- the president will.

Give us a framework will lay out -- provides leadership give us a framework and actually make some sense so we can we can.

-- make some progress -- of all of us just say no walk away not.

Deal.

When we don't.

That is not been the intent that is not our hope our hope -- we can actually start to solve this problem we're ready to do it if the president provides the leadership he needs to then I think we get something done.

I wish you all the best in your efforts to keep the awareness alive on this very important.

Issue and I want to -- our viewers know that -- you can go to our website.
