Hi bill sent back to politics now -- senator Lindsey Graham is saying that the 9/11 -- Ghazi attack.
Is indicative of a much larger problem he believes with the Obama administration.
Failing to get tough.
On terrorism and to recognize the posture of -- hiding in this area right now here is senator Graham.
We need to get into the details of how they died and we also need to get into the details of -- we left our consulate so open.
And unsecured when the British left -- everybody else left in Gaza.
But ask this is a storage system failure and if we don't get to the bottom of that rule failed to learn in if we don't change our strategy.
From a foreign policy pointer for.
-- be Bob Cheney says light footprint approach toward terror they're going to be more being guys -- What about that -- I'm joined now by KT McFarland served as deputy assistant Defense Secretary under President Reagan.
She's also Fox News national security analyst you know KT it's so interesting you watch these shows over the weekend your bank hasn't brought up.
As so often the reaction is kind of -- get over it you know move on and move all -- Why should we not -- -- -- Well because that's exactly what we did -- 1998.
When there were twin bombings and US embassies in East Africa and in 2000.
When Harrison attack against the USS Cole in region it was al-Qaeda.
We didn't retaliate we didn't move well what happened.
Bin Laden himself has said.
As a result of the American -- -- to retaliate against us we felt -- that's why you have September 11 so what are we doing now fast forward a decade.
Here we've had attacks on American soil for -- -- -- Americans have died what are we doing were arguing with ourselves we're not retaliating against some.
But we know where those al-Qaeda training camps are in eastern Libya why not go after them.
Now what is the lesson -- kinda takes from -- Once again no consequences and that's the Americans -- busy fighting each other not us so I think -- then -- become.
We will allow them to become emboldened than this is an effective green light for continuing.
To attack America.
And so I mean what I think the mindset of the administration has on this did today.
Do you think I mean do they genuinely believe that al-Qaeda is not a threat anymore in this region.
What we know that they said that Al qaeda's been decimated we know that you know a lot of this was -- -- a movie it's just you know.
-- of feathers sort of saying that that that really got out of control.
Well I think a lot of it is their mindset -- it's two things it's their mind set and then there's a failure to say well gee.
If these -- terrorists attacks than that thing we said before about bin Laden instead al-Qaeda is on its heels terrorism is Spanish and that's a law.
The because they can't admit them -- al-Qaeda in fact we see any bigger than ever and has.
Brad -- and carrying out drone attacks yeah we know that they've taken aside and it in a way in that -- very similar to the way the President Bush did in terms of hitting targets when they haven't so why why not go after these attacks and is these camps.
Training camps in eastern Libya and and send a strong message why not.
No and I think that the problem is that the Arabs frank talk everybody by surprise it took us by surprise.
And it took al-Qaeda by surprise so the reaction to the Arab Spring is that we just sort of -- Other than in Libya was at hand thought you guys you -- you handle -- -- well helping topple those dictators.
But we won't help you establish new democratic governments.
Al-Qaeda on the other hand is set -- golden opportunity.
And they have gone in and they are now in Syria they're back in Iraq.
They're in Egypt we -- -- now in Libya and they are spreading throughout the re.
And and it's you know it's a great way for them to go after us these these embassies are very -- in these areas and -- you look what's happening in Egypt as you say.
And in Syria and we know that we saw the first bombing at the World Trade Center.
And it was complete but not complete enough I guess from -- so they came back later we -- know what happened on September 11.
We need to understand.
What the State Department did what what the precautions -- and and that's what I'm.
Congressman Mike Rogers who has been so closely involved -- in unraveling -- talked about over the weekend and let let's listen to what he had to say.
It's very clear to me Bob that the intelligence was right about the threats in Ben -- now they didn't know the specific day in this specific event.
But all of the threat streams were right so what went wrong.
Was that their policy and decision makers at Department of State.
Did not make the right security call and I argue it's gross negligence.
You think about it we've heard nothing about this from Hillary Clinton.
It have you -- -- and secretary of state.
Why not why not want to know what happened where you went wrong they say they're doing an investigation and I'll give us those answers -- is that.
Let's say this is almost three months ago and now we know the only thing we know for sure is -- four Americans -- and David Petraeus had an affair.
We don't know what happened before we don't know happened during and we don't know happen we don't know what happened or why we have.
Now -- they're good people -- trying to the bottom of this right now on will we learn their findings well those good people will have an impact there I don't say I think this story frankly I think the administration lied and covered up.
And it's over they have gotten away with it in less.
They -- -- congressional hearings.
And people were called in the new congress people are called to testify raise their hand.
Take the oath of office and say we're -- you mean I don't think anyone really that so we'll see to have any success -- thank you very much -- he has always been so.
