But I want to get now to eight an amazing that young man.

I can listen she is they see any act let me get this right he's seen the ads I gotta read this -- -- my Blackberry here.

-- that is a senior from came NM consolidated high school College Station, Texas he's just one.

The 100000.

-- Grand prize at this Siemens competition in math science and technology rolls are joined by Thomas chemicals and who is chairman of the board for the Siemens foundation.

Great -- you -- let me come to you can listen -- let's tell us exactly.

Why you've got the prize what -- -- -- fall.

So for the Siemens competition I created a new and more efficient robotics navigation -- -- That can -- safe pass for robots which is especially beneficial since virtually all robots have to.

Navigate without colliding with signing on texting can therefore benefit from my new -- with them.

What's clear what's the practical application -- all of that can some.

Come in the future I would like to see.

And this algorithm applied in real life robots and also how we can use these same strategies to.

Help create realistic motions for virtual characters and animation and video game design.

And we can also model protein folding and Lincoln binding and structural biology.

Now I I read tens and and now I'm a layman and understand very little kind of designs -- technology.

So forgive me if I'm getting this wrong but I read in a couple of places.

Did that kind of technology you're looking at.

Could one be used to help robots in a -- situation.

Hi in the off to -- -- an earthquake and two could even be applied to drive those cars are both of those correct.

So while we can -- this in search and rescue missions come government military operations.

Drive -- cars virtually any sort of robot really.

Okay let me bring in Thomas -- -- chairman of the board with a Siemens foundation Imus in the cause and -- it's a great competition you must be very proud.

Kabul although only young people are not just Kensington you've taken -- in this.

Well we always.

Talk about it.

This time a year where we all kind of feel sort of inadequate surrounded by these young.

High school students who are doing this wonderful science work.

And with every year the the projects get better more relevant to solving problems.

In the world.

And we're just so proud to be able to showcase their talents.

I initial idea -- of the whole competition.

I'm -- the -- than what what prompted seems to get involved in this.

Well as you know.

Companies like Siemens thrive on innovation.

And behind that innovation is engineering math and science and so we know that there's a shortage of scientists and engineers.

Coming into the workplace.

When we wanted to be able to have a competition that would create some.

Examples of young people who.

Are doing great work having fun doing it and motivate them to go into science and -- for their careers.

And now you offering can -- -- alongside generic job.

We are a lot of work for kids and so accepted it because I think -- it's it's not a job we'll be the bonds.

-- you know this is this -- mister -- and there's so much talk.

These days -- of the young people being.

Drifting a little being listless not having great ideas.

This really shows shot and showcases the very best of -- young people and shows I guess that America can.

Am media leaving.

Like in innovation across the globe once again.

There there's no question that top students in the United States go toe to toe with students around the globe.

And so the other and we just feel that.

Making sure that more people know that we can do that then that there are young men and women out there who are.

Getting into science and an early age and having fun doing it that's what it's all about and we just want to be sure that the rest of the in the country knows that that's happening.

All right they are great people indeed and it's a great competition -- congratulations you told -- the -- and chairman of the ball.

-- Siemens foundation and of course great congratulations.

-- to can -- she winner of the 100000.

Hot -- -- price thank you both so much for being with us today.
